Hotel location is excellent with car parking available if your looking near Powai lake , however staff is very rude and arrogant and they will trouble you alot if you are a couple and asking verification of being married or not and it takes a lot of time in solving this and therefore check in is delayed. Hotel has strict rules no Bar is available being a 3 star and everywhere no smoking boards are installed. Overall decent experience only recommended if you want Powai area.

A definitely no on almost every aspect!”
I will be direct and objective: 1. Cleanliness- really really bad. I booked their most expensive room. It's main glass window was as dirty as it gets. You don't want to open any cabinet either. 2. Staff: I will talk about only one service interaction I had with the person cleaning my room. I called them as the bathroom was not ready. No toileteries, no towels whatsoever. I am not sure how can they say room is ready without a simple bathroom checkup. When they came to check the bathroom in my absense, they put toiletries and still put no towels. I am not making a point that the said issue is big; I am talking about the complete lack of empathy in their approach or tone of replying while you raise such basic issues in front of them. Staff isn't warm in nutshell. 3. Please note that the hotel run a school and the hotel didn't bother to tell me that while giving me room literally next to the school part of the 'Hotel'. To sum up, I don't recommend this place at all.

Its located almost in the middle of a slum. Door key didnt work, AC had water pouring out of it, no in room dining post 1030pm & staff looked completely disinterested in customer service. Don't ever use this hotel

Great location in Powai area in Mumbai”
i booked this hotel through agoda which i feel is among the best travel sites in the world. metro residency charges more when you walk in to the hotel or make an advance booking directly with the hotel. through agoda, i was able to make a booking at a very competitive rate. i booked the hotel as i was attending a contact workshop in iit bombay (located at powai) through agoda's website after looking at the reviews of the hotel. when you have international travellers rating a hotel on agoda.com as good, i knew this was the place i had to stay in. spot on the distance between metro residency and iit bombay is no more than 3 kilometers and i did not face any problem in the commute to and fro. coming back to the hotel, they are doing some renovation work on the exteriors of the place and one gets the feeling that this is not a good place. but when you walk in to the hotel, you see that it is a good place. i had booked a double bed ac room for 2 nights and needless the room was good in terms of facilities, clean and had a terrific view overlooking powai lake. the centralized air conditioning worked like a dream, hot water was available at the required times and the staff was friendly and helpful. the only glitch was that the cable tv did act a bit quirky at times and i was not able to watch some of the live matches of the australian open 2012 grand slam tournament. probably the only thing the hotel needs to improve is the food aspect. the breakfast is a bit over rated and for the money one pays, i am not too sure it will appeal to everyone as there was a very limited menu which was heavily localized (in short no continental breakfast). other than that, i had a good experience staying here and would definitely recommend this place for business folks or anybody looking for a nice place to stay in powai area in mumbai. thank you agoda for helping me stay here !

Great Value in Mumbai: The Metro”
I spent many hours looking for a good hotel in Mumbai for less than US $100. In past, we have been in some tacky hotels. But the Metro surprised us with modern, very clean, handsomely decorated hotel rooms. The streets outside is a little rough looking, but once you drive up to the front of the hotel you know you there has been attention paid to creating some beauty. As we are checking in, a young man approaches with a glass of juice for each of us. That was a nice welcome. Because we are paying Agoda rates, I believe they put us on the floor above the lobby, probably saving the rooms with a view for higher paying guests. But the view out either side of the hotel looks out on either greenery or a lake. The furniture is good quality, good sheets, towels a little rough. Nice shower with bathtub. Marble surrounds the sink and tub. One wall needed some fresh paint, but not a big deal. We asked for coffee to be delivered to our room at 6:30 am and it was hot and pronto. The breakfast buffet was Indian with five entries and two kinds of fresh fruit and dried cereal. We had lunch in the same restaurant and the Sag Chicken and Tandoori Chicken was excellent. We will stay again.

Visiting IIT Mumbai?”
The room was clean and comfortable with a functioning AC. Bath towels and a bar soap were provided but I cannot remember any other toiletries. Free wi-fi. Breakfast was okay but nothing spectacular. Hotel is just off of the JVLR near the Powai police station. Traffic can be messy during peak hours, so give enough time to reach the airport. IIT Mumbai is only a couple of kilometres away.

I spent 5 nights in a deluxe room at the Caliph Hotel (September 2017). Amenties found in the room - Free Wifi - Shampoo, facial wash, soap, conditioner - Satellite LCD TV - Newspaper - One 1-liter bottle of water (daily) The Good(s) - The size of the room was satisfactory. - The cleanliness of the room was satisfactory. - Decent view of Powai lake - The hotel is very close to Powai police station (2-min walk). You can easily find auto rickshaws parked in front of the police station. - To get back to the hotel, you can just mention 'Powai police station' to rickshaw drivers. It was very easy to get back to the hotel. - Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. - Reasonable price room service menu The Ok(s) - I was expecting better qualities of bath towel, pillow, and blanket. - I was expecting an electric kettle and some coffee/tea amenities in the room, but I did not find any. Nevertheless, you can request the staff for an electric kettle. - The breakfast was OK (2 menus of Indian food, bread with jam and butter, Indian milk tea, fruit, egg (on request)). - Water tap in the bathroom slightly move from side to side The Bad(s) - There was no eating out places around the hotel - I was bothered by guests in an adjacent room. The kids were singing, playing guitar, and knocking the wall. I went down to the reception and told them my problem. The reception said they would send a staff to handle the situation. I went back to my room and needed to wait for another half an hour for them to quiet down. One hour after that, the adults started watching TV show, and it was very loud. I called the reception again, and inform them the situation. The staff just simply asked me what was my problem and how I wanted them to do. To my understanding, this was the responsibility of the hotel to handle the problem. After the call, I waited for another 10 minutes but the problem was not solved. the room was a really good size, bathroom also good. everything clean and serviced daily. some english channels on tv. the breakfast was indian style but nice enough, they did also cook us eggs. we also ate in the resturant one evening which was good. the reception staff were fantastic, checked us in efficiently at 2am on our arrival. also were very helpful arranging a tour of mumbai and recommended a tour operator who arranged train tickets. the only down side was wifi which was poor, so slow i could not down load attachments.

I come in India on Sunday afternoon, hotel staff / travel has ready to pick up and transfer to the hotel. Good driver, car, and service of hotel. While in India, I get trainning to another hotel but not far from Metro Residency. Go there by India's transportation, called "auto". Same in Indonesia we have that transportation but we called "BAJAY". Finish all bisnis, we go vacation to Gateway of India. Gateway of India is India heritage in the center of Mumbai/Bombay. Great experience come to India but one important thing is I get my goal come to India, pass for NACE Coating Inspector Level-2 Certified.

OK hotel”
Metro residency is an ok hotel to stay in. Rooms are clean which is not that easy to find in India. Staff however are very relaxed and do not value the importance of time. WIFI in our room was not working(however this was part of the package). We complained about this numerous times to the hotel and they kept sending technicians , who could not fix anything.Finally we got so frustrated that we asked to be changes to a room which had WIFI. The third room that they allocated us had WIFI and this was done on our second night after numerous requests.
