Noise”
Stayed in a ground floor apartment and could not sleep. The noise of the swimming pool pumps kept me awake all night. did phone reception after 2am and complaint. They said the can't switch it off and apologized for the noise. First time in my life that I see someone running swimming pool pumps 24/7.

The Capital Hotel is a new hotel in the Menlyn Maine area. It is conveniently located in the fastest growing business and entertainment area of the Pretoria and bigger Tshwane metropolitan area. The hotel provides everything needed for business, traveler and short term stays. The staff are extremely friendly, accommodating and helpful. Rooms are fair sized and provides in all needs. All normal hotel amenities as well as a few extras are available. Restaurants of top brands are located on site or in the same complex. I frequent the Capital Menlyn. The stay is a home away from home and i love the property. The restaurant staff are polite but dont know how the system works. On 3 occasions now they ran after me to sign a bill to my room and then once signed and done they run back and say you cant bill it to your room you must pay now. This time i booked a room for 2 adults, 2 of us stayed and went to eat breakfast once..... one breakfast was included and 1 had to pay (makes no sense if i booked a room for 2 that only 1 can eat) in room dining is also limited and the restaurants around the hotel are hesitant to deliver when calling. I love the property and will be back as i say its home from home. Meals could be made more pleasant.

Perfect location for Pretoria”
The hotel location is perfect for Menlyn. Rooms are big and modern. The staff are friendly and helpful. The only negative is the fact that you hear extractors from the neighbouring buildings all night if you sleep with open windows like us. I think being in a city that is just the way it will be.

Seems that there is some serious glitches between the hotel and Agoda booking systems!! So rather book directly with the hotel. I paid for a room for 2 nights, that I never received! The first night I didn't even sleep in the hotel but was very professionally accommodated by a top hotel across the street - all arranged by Capital Menlyn's Manager Claudette (thank you Claudette!). The second night, The Capital could accommodate me but in a lesser quality room only. So, disappointed in the whole process - paying upfront for something and not receiving what you paid for.

I can highly recommend the Capital, we were going to the EFC66 fighting at Time square and decided to book the night, from the check in to the security staff, everyone was friendly and provided great service, the room was clean, modern and had a great view from the 6th floor where our room was.

Not suitable for wheelchair bound patrons ”
I loved everything about this place, from the staff to the spacious bedrooms. Unfortunately I am on a wheelchair and the bathroom is the most important thing when you are wheelchair bound. I would expect such an establishment to be on par with this especially because they brag about their handicapped rooms on their site. Unfortunately whoever designed and fitted the bathrooms did know know what they were doing. Firstly there is no rubber mat in the shower so my legs kept slipping and my wife had to hold them still as I showered. Secondly, the seat in the shower is very short, I could hardly fit my bum on it and I could have easily fallen out if my wife was not holding my legs. The same seat slants down and has no holes to dispense water, making it too slippery and dangerous for someone with an injury like mine. The same seat is very low and not on the same level as my wheelchair, so although I could transfer from my chair to the seat, I struggled immensely to go back onto my wheelchair because the seat was way lower than my wheelchair and also because my legs kept slipping. I normally travel alone and there is no way I can go to this hotel on my own. Very disappointed

Superb value for money, especially when making a last minute booking. Rooms are relatively cheap then, in comparison to booking in advance. Some facilities did not work ie. TV remote, telephone for reception, had to use cellphone (not a big issue, but it didnt work nonetheless) Staff not the best the I have encountered. Not taking proper orders for room service etc. But not a train smash Overall I would definitely return to stay at this hotel should I be attending a concert or event at the Casino

The room is good. Pillows and bed awesome and highly recommended. Fridge in the roomand air con worked very well. However maintenance issues on the reception area left me feeling like I did not know the hotel. No food and beverage facility available and no character to the hotel. Staff doing best they can under very trying circumstances. No management in sight and the letter describing the situation had operations manager as title with no name. Big let down. Surely when there are problems on sight there should be a manager on duty VISIBLE if only for staff moral net alone to deal with customers problems which will be more so. Really good staff. SLACK management and does not bode well for the future.
