Ideal for family vacations, The Chava Resort is a luxury apartment located on the exclusive Surin Beach. Within walking distance, guests are able to reach Surin Plaza, many boutiques, and several restaurants. Surrounding the area on either side are Pansea and Leam Sing Beach. You can decide to stay in and lounge in the private day beds along the pool or venture out and partake in some water sports. The travel desk can help book tours for parasailing, diving, elephant trekking, or ventures to the nearby Phi Phi islands. Do as much or as little during your stay at The Chava Resort, but surely you will not be disappointed with your stay.

Perfect family hotel”
We had the most fabulous stay at the Chava. We were a family of three generations staying in a three bedroom apartment. The apartment was huge with plenty of space for everyone. The pool was beautiful and very restful with super comfy sun beds. Breakfasts were 5*. But what made the stay really special were the staff who were super friendly and for whom nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be returning.
A great place to stay”
The in unit pool wasn't really as clean as I would prefer, since we had 2 kids (3yo n 2yo), so we used the outdoor pool mostly. All in all, the service and staff was excellent. Love the place and would definitely go back again
Excellent, especially for big family”
We took a last-minute deal with very reasonable price and our group of seven stayed in a 4-bedroom residence in the peak season of December. We found everything not only satisfactory but exceeding our expectation. The location is great, only 2 minutes walk to Surin Beach, which is beautiful and not so noisy and crowded as Patong. The residence is spacious and comfortable, well equipped and complete with a large kitchen. It is perfect for travellers who prefer a small/medium-sized hotel, especially for those who want to prepare their own food. There were a few issues when we arrived but they were fixed within a very short time. The food choice in the hotel may be limited but there are a few restaurants nearby with choices of Asian and European food. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend this hotel to anyone especially to large families.
Probably good for big families only”
We wish we had read some honest reviews about this place before arriving. We were keen to move to next hotel we had booked. Pros: Room was very spacious. Cons: Most staff seemed grumpy, except for the front gate guards who were friendly one excellent young lady who worked at the restaurant and seemed to be new. Swimming pool felt unkept, and crowded in by surrounding buildings and vegetation. Room was basically an apartment. Really odd compared to a regular beach front hotel, and why only suitable for families. Location was poor. Worst place we've stayed in four trips to Phuket. Seems to be a chemical processing plant at the top of the hill as tanker trucks ploughing up and down the road constantly. At night time the road is incredibly busy with tourist coaches, vans and cars with no decent footpath. Felt dangerous. The beach is actually a 4 or 5 minute walk away, but don't worry - it is not worth going to. Worst beach visited up the whole Phuket west coast. Dirty and littered.
A beautiful resort, highly recommended ”
We spent 4 glorious days here and because it was so great we only ventured out for short bursts during our stay. It’s a small resort but all the better for it. The pool, restaurant and room were all well designed and promoted a good holiday vibe. If I have any complaint is would be that the spa brochure failed to convey that massages would be held in your room and not away from the kids in a beautiful spa. So all in all an expensive in room massage is all it was. Also the food could b good (yes burgers were very good) but it could also be terrible in the case of my chicken schnitzel. Aside from that, it was a very good stay and I would recommend to my closest friend. Oh and it’s run by an Aussie so the coffee was pretty good too!
Great hotel ”
I can’t fault this hotel. The room were spacious and the pool nice and cool. Beach is minute walk away as are local restaurants but the hotel serves reasonably priced meals too. Can’t fault our experience. Did I mention they make great Melbourne style coffee too 😋
Beautiful hotel that radiates calm and tranquility.”
Having stayed in a variety of hotels globally I have never been compelled to write a review before. However I want to congratulate the team at Chava for the job they do. Directly opposite the beach, the Chava and the Surin area itself itself provides a calm oasis from its bigger and noisier neighbours in nearby resort areas. From the late notice booking the previous night, nothing was too much effort. Zea and the F/O team where particularly helpful in arranging a transfer and the configuration of the room to suit the family. We has a two bedroom apt for 2 adults/2 children ( 10 & 7 ) and it was very spacious. With good size bedrooms, a large kitchen/living area and a large private balcony there was more than enough room to spread out. The rooms are very clean, well furnished and provide a number of nice small touches ie towel/mats and umbrellas for the beach. The pool was beautiful, never busy and has ample sun loungers. The food was delicious and fresh. Great work guys
Very nice resort. No gym, unfortunately ”
It’s a beautiful resort and the staff was extremely nice and eager to help all the time. But. The apt was beautiful, comfortable and very clean. It was very expensive though, 750$ per night for a 4 persons family apt (high season). There is no gym in the resort so you can purchase a voucher for 50$ per person for a week, To use the neighbor hotel’s gym. I think in this kind of money that we paid we should have get this for free. This is how we felt. The restaurant is amazing. Food is delicious. 3 minutes walk from the beach. Surin Beach is extremely beautiful and not so busy, very nice population. But, we spent 8 night at this resort with our 12th and 16 year old boys, and it was very boring for them. Although we had some day excursions. I think who comes with older kids, need to take it in mind. I think a more vivid beach will be much more interesting for them.
Beautiful rooms right by the beach”
Great small hotel with spacious and clean rooms in walking distance to Surin Beach. A few nice restaurants near by. Nice big pool. Breakfast was good, no buffet though so a bit less choice. Friendly staff. Overall a pleasant 1 night stay for us.
It's a wonderful place for families and big groups. Very spacious very comfortable.
Beautiful ambience with nice landscaping ”
Nice place. Location is about 5 mins to surin beach. Our booking comes with a spacious living area. Great for the kids to run about. Stove for some cooking is available. Comes with dishwasher and washing machine. Love the landscaping done with vines and frangipani.

Super off-season getaway”
We stayed at Chava in August, enjoying a great off-season discount, and loved everything about it. The 2-bedroom family apartments are fabulously comfortable and well-equipped. The breakfasts are delicious and offer a great variety (also a refreshing change to order from the menu instead of a buffet). The staff are fantastic and speak the best English I've so far encountered here. The beach (a short walk away) is very peaceful, attractive and free of dirt-generating bars etc. Only (very minor) downside is that the pool is perhaps a little small/lacking in slides etc if your kids tend to spend all their time there. Would highly recommend.
Fantastic Hotel for Young Children”
We stayed at the Chava Resort for 5 nights while visiting friends in Phuket. We found the resort to be well prepared for young children and had the facilities to match. The pool area has lots of rest areas (seats) of different variety, though I must say one or two families can make the pool area seem "claimed". The apartment facilities were great. The kitchen was well equipped with all that you might need which was much appreciated to ensure that we could provide for our daughter during our stay. It was also very well organized so that it took us very little time to find our way around the apartment and make it ours. We will be back to Phuket many times to visit friends and will likely stay at the Chava again.
A sanctuary on Surin Beach”
We really enjoyed our stay in the 2 bedroom penthouse at the Chava. The facilities were very modern, clean and well appointed. Loved all the lush vegetation and flowers around the grounds. The breakfast was decent but the Thai items on the dinner menu could use some better flavoring. Wonderful service was given by the staff. This place is a nice escape from the crowds of Phuket.
The apartment is nice & comfy, with a big kitchen. The pool of the resort is big and during low peak not many ppl swim in it so we've got the place to ourselves. The breakfast was nice where u can order whatever u want from the menu. But the staff at the breakfast table were not too friendly though. They were not too accomodating when u kept ordering even though it's a buffet breakfast.
Pleasant stay at The Chava”
Surin as a location is quite central and self sufficient. One could actually chill around Surin for a few days without the need to go to Patong/phuket town. Our first time at The Chava. We've stayed at Twin Palms on a few occasions so we know Surin quite well. Our 2 bedroom apartment at The Chava was well stocked with all amenities of a self contained unit. Generally unit seemed to be clean but on our first 2 days, our eyes seemed to itch and tear, which usually happens when there is dust. So while the unit seemed clean there must have been quite a lot of dust for us to react like this way. Nonetheless, the place was cleaned daily. Rooms are spacious. My son loved the giant tub so it was easy to lure him back from the beach cos there was round 2 of water play at home. Our stay included breakfast. It's a standard breakfast menu and after a few days it started to get boring. I would suggest that they included one or two daily specials, perhaps local breakfast items like Thai noodles. The resident Thai chef cooks beautiful thiai food and I do think the resort should let her showcase her talent. We had the opportunity to order room service one night and the Thai dishes were beautifully executed! The concierge is not 24/7 but that didn't really bother us. They were there when we needed them. Speaks good English, friendly and knowledgeable. There is also in room massage. Our first night , we requested the concierge to arrange for in room massages for us. Everything was arranged perfectly! There is no kids club and gym facilities however for a nominal fee you can use the facilities at the property next door. I would suggest the property invest in an extensive entertainment library for those rainy days. Eg. DVD titles, gamin consoles n games. They could be rented for a nominal fee. Generally a no frills but comfortable resort for the family.
Intimate boutique hotel right on Surin Beach”
Discreet service. Small good quality restaurant. Great beach and dining options within walking distance.
