Fun boutique hotel”
I enjoy staying at fun boutique hotels rather than the bigger chains. The room sizes are very spacious, beds are comfy, bathrooms are clean, housekeeping and front desk staff are friendly. The pool is fun as it's in the middle of the hotel. In terms of amenities there is a Safeway about 5 mins walk around the block which was convenient too. The hotel has parking in their lot for $10 per night, otherwise there is also street parking for free. Overall a great stay over the weekend at the Clarendon Hotel!

Love this hotel”
The only con was that I booked this place primarily for the pool and it was closed for remodeling the week I stayed here, and didn’t find out until I was checking in. Other than that, this hotel was super cute. I loved the decor and the room. The restaurant/bar Tranquilo downstairs serves delicious food and margaritas, and has great ambience. I will stay here every time I stay in Phoenix!

One of my favourite stays”
My expectations of this hotel were completely exceeded. From the refreshing smell of the lobby, the bubbly reception team, the letter from the owner and the care that they put in the rooms, everything was executed with purpose and genuine care. The staff were so wonderful - and even let us indulge in a few of their American snacks when we told them we had travel led from abroad. I cannot recommend this place highly enough! Thank you to the entire Clarendon team for the most amazing stay! We hope to stay again in the future.

Always a great stay!”
I have stayed here on 3 separate occasions and it has always been a great stay! The staff is kind and helpful. They accommodate every need as best as possible. It has always been a wonderful experience and this will be the only hotel I will stay at when visiting the Phoenix area!

A Comfortable Experience”
The room and the facilities were so enjoyable. The hallway our room was in had sound-proofing which was an amazing feature. The pool and jacuzzi were lovely to have access to, although the area around the pool was in desperate need of sweeping. The internet was not working for us while we were there. Also, the walls in the bathroom had a sticky substance that had dripped down and hardened, that was a little nasty, and the drain in the sink had a ton of hair that had been caught and left over time. The staff was friendly and the location was great. We will definitely stay here again despite some of the aesthetic downfalls and hopefully the Clarendon will get a deep spring cleaning before then!

This is a hip place that has an art deco feel to it. The room was very clean and modern. ”
The restaurant in the lobby has a nice happy hour with yummy tacos at the right price. A rooftop lounge allows you to see the panorama of Phoenix and its beautiful sunsets.

Trying Too Hard to Be Hip”
I’ve stayed at this location for the third and final time. While it’s been my go-to hotel due to its funky vibe and pool area on my business trips, something has changed between my last visit in Sept 2018. Music is now bumping well past 9:30pm which makes it impossible to sleep with no help from the manager despite several calls. The music is so loud I’m wondering if it’s Phoenix noise - violation loud. The safe in my room is in-operational, front desk is out of snacks, and the treadmill in the gym is broken. Really disappointing visit after years of loyalty. Will be looking elsewhere for the next trip.

Very near to airport and great staff ”
The service is amazing, they allowed us to deposit our luggage for 3D2N as our Grand Canyon trip is unable to take big luggage. It is very near to airport l, but 20 mins driving to town or other attraction such as Botanical garden or Phoenix zoo. Overall, it is a great experience!

I would give 3.5 out of 5.”
Perfect location in downtown Phoenix. Hotel Needs Some work in order to be a four-star. Stuff in the front desk people are not as professionally should be.

Very good”
The Clarendon is post-modern style. Very clean, good location, with a friendly and helpful staff--but: Prepaid room rate did not include a $22.51 "resort fee", which was NOT clearly stated anywhere. After diligent searching I found it listed on the confirmation, but, again, I had to look for it. I also was charged a $10 parking fee which was not stated ANYWHERE. No coffee in the lobby--make coffee in a Keurig in the room or buy it at the in-house restaurant. If you want cream in your in-room coffee you have a choice of vanilla or hazelnut flavored creamers--or going down too the restaurant to ask for some unflavored regular cream. Bed was comfortable, bathroom small but adequate. there is an open patio on the roof that is pleasant to sit and look over the neighboring rooftops. the courtyard with pool is also nice.

Wonderful Hotel”
Love the vibe of this hotel, the beautiful and comfortable rooms and beds, dark curtains for the rooms, and relaxing pool area. We have also managed to score tremendous deals for room rates at this hotel and it's a tremendous value for the price.

Super fun hip stay-cation!”
We needed a night away from the teenagers so we booked here at the Clarendon. Enjoyed organica margaritas, roof top views and a quiet nights rest. Would recommend! Thank you:):)

Excellent”
This is a funky hotel. We enjoyed the live music at the rooftop bar and the Mexican food at the restaurant, Tranquilo, was very good. Free snacks for the evening and daytime were also a very nice touch. It is only a quick ten minute or less walk to the nearest streetcar station that gets you into downtown in less than ten minutes. I would recommend this hotel.

Disappointed. Caught off guard; feel uninformed up front.”
Booked through Agoda.com & specified arrival time, but I was greeted with "I don't know if we have any rooms available." Seinfeld came to mind. After asking, I got clarification; housekeeping was still cleaning them. I was informed - at check in - of a $10/night fee to park with them. I declined and decided to park on the street. Notes: • After a work day, the massage area is closed, so choosing this place for spa aspects during a business trip would prove useless. • Mold on the shower head. • Tub doesn't drain well. • Sink doesn't hold water • Blinds must be closed to prevent people from looking in. • The only entrance & exit is the front main door. Side doors are alarmed & cannot be used to enter the facility; There is no room key reader to allow access through doors. • $20/night (+tax) fee for things other hotels provide for free like pool and wifi (not disclosed) but it DOES give unlimited snacks. I only learned this from a flyer; not from the staff. • Gate to roof is LOUD.

No napping on a Saturday!”
After being up very early that morning and having a concert later that evening, we wanted to take a nap around 4:30 pm. NOT happening! The music coming from the pool area was so loud we could feel the thumping vibration in our bed! This was still going on at 7:00 pm when we left the hotel. In fact, music was not only coming from the pool area, but the front patio (private party), roof top AND parking lot. Does this go on every Saturday? Returned at 10:30 hoping for a drink at the bar and it was closed. Guess it's all about happy hour at the Clarendon! Not sure of the clientele you're looking for, but we won't be returning. Disappointing as the room was clean and the decor was fun.

Above average”
As a local I have visited the Clarendon several times for the bar and events. But will think twice about staying. The “sofa bed” which was actually a futon was broken so we lost sleeping space which is our reasoning for booking that room. For a room to accommodate 6 people but not have enough hot water for 1 was a concern as well. We checked in and out. Love the Clarendon for their vibe and events, but more attention could be put into their hotel stays as well!

Excellent”
You have to pay an additional fee for parking and a daily hotel fee. If AZ has anything in abundance, it’s parking. Didn’t like the fact that you get charged for parking like it’s a CA hotel. The service fee should be included in the rate not an additional fee

Hidden Gem”
The hotel staff was extremely friendly. The room was exceptionally clean and the pool area was amazing! There was live music all weekend but Saturday night was the best! A violinist names Jonathan Levingston elevated the evening! I’ve already made a new reservation for this hotel! It’s a hidden gem!

Hotel is nice, the restaurant not so much”
Rooms are nice, staff was great. The tranquilo restaurant however, was well below expectations. Food was overcooked and dry. Little to no seasoning (or maybe it was burned off during the long cooking). At the price of $ 4 per taco, I would expect something at the same size or slightly larger than one from taco bell, but I was literally able to eat one in two bites. Tacos and chips are basically all that's on the menu, save yourself the disappointment and expense, and just go to taco bell.
