Nice and clean, however charged way more than booking amount”
Staff was nice, room was comfy. However it was different than the booking and the charged price was higher also. I don't know if this is common in US since it was my first time. However they charged 60 USD extra for two days even if we did not requested anything extra. So I will not stay here again.

So noisy ”
Our room was right near the elevator and I guess the wall are really thin or the elevator is just really loud but from 6am-10pm there’s loud, really loud noises. We asked to switch rooms and they downgraded us to a room and said that’s all they have, when online you’re still able to book for the dates i was staying. Rooms don’t look bad and the hotel is clean just can’t get a restful sleep in the am if you are not ones to be up at 5/6am

Terrible Stay”
I went with my friend and business partner for business travel this past weekend. After an exhausting drive to San Francisco, we were hoping to be placed in a nice room. While we were checking in, we were greeted with rude staff and terrible upselling tactics when we mentioned potential upgrades. When we finally got to our room, we noticed that it was dirty and missing toiletries. We tried calling, but the phone didn't work either. On our second night, we noticed flies in the room. Overall, we had a terrible stay.

I had the loveliest stay at the Clift Hotel after a 20 hour flight from Southeast Asia and a full day of shopping in San Francisco... the staff is incredibly accommodating, and the room was warm (with my own thermostat) and cozy, with a bed that made sleeping on a cloud seem like second best. Room service in the morning was not cheap but was perfect and the easiest way to quickly fuel up on good food and coffee before leaving San Francisco. The Clift staff feels very professional and also kind. This was my second stay there and not my last!

I seriously can't wait to book my next stay at The Clift! Excellent location just a couple blocks from Union Square, superb customer service. There is nothing worse than staying in a hotel and having a horribly uncomfortable bed; with that being said my bed at the clift was so comfortable and I had the best nights sleep ever. Centrally located to shopping and nightlife. The Redwood Room was heaving with people but I never heard a peep in my 3rd floor room. Room was a comfortable size and nicely decorated. My only iffy spot was the bathroom which needed some updating. The Mini bar was packed with perfect and clever essentials. I forgot a couple items and house keeping was uber prompt to bring them to me. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend you stay here when you cone to the gorgeous city of San Francisco.

We were particularly grateful for the level of service provided by Clift San Francisco because we'd just moved over from another hotel nearby where the staff had treated us more as adversaries than guests. At Clift, every question was answered with a warm smile and we felt the staff were genuinely trying to help. The location was great - just a short stroll from Union Square - and the place was buzzing at the weekends because its very hip bar (though you can't hear the noise in the bedroom). The only "con" was the thin walls - our neighbours were not particularly noisy but we could hear them quite clearly. Luckily for us, they didn't stay up late, but if they had, it would have been a real pain.

Execellent Hotel”
This is my absolute favorite hotel in San Francisco. We asked for an upgrade upon check-in and were promptly accommodated. The rooms are a nice size and well appointed and the beds were very comfortable. We ate at the hotel restaurant, Asia de Cuba, which was fantastic (though a little pricey). I would definitely also recommend checking out the bar (The Redwood Room) - good crowd and tasty cocktails. The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout our entire stay. I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone look for a fun, classy, hip place to stay in San Francisco!

if i have the chance to go back to san francisco, i will stay in clift again. the staff are friendly and the interior furnishing is amazing. i love the giant big chair in the lobby. apparently hotel bar is very famous. a lot of of fashionably dressed people were queueing just to get into the bar to drink. it is also of walking distance to walk to the shopping district of sf. great hotel!

The bar, which is Art Deco and still maintains many original details from the 1930s, is beautiful and a wonderful place to have a drink. The hotel staff is helpful and friendly.
