Excellent location and beautiful property”
I'd definitely say that the Club is a beautiful property and is very well located within Chinatown. There are loads of positives to this little boutique property. We weren't too affected by the nightclub noise (as some others were) but I think the staff (especially the foreign lady at the frontdesk) could be more empathic in dealing with customers who are unwell.
So glad we found this gem”
The location of this hotel is fantastic - only a block away from Maxwell Rd hawker centre with so much amazing foods, lots bars and restaurants around the hotel and only 5 mins walk from Chinatown eat street and MRT station. It is a great base for exploring Singapore. The room is well appointed and comfortable. They provide free soft drinks and juices but not bottled water. Kettle and Nespresso coffee machine provided for coffee or tea. The hotel also have a free smart phone for loan, allowing free access to internet, local and international phone call - so thoughtful. The staff were amazing, everyone of them. Courteous and friendly, nothing was too much for them. I have stayed in more expensive hotels and this was way better and at a very reasonable price too. Highly recommend staying here if you are in Singapore. I know I will be back.
Unique & comfy”
If you want to stay in a good hotel far from tourism like orchard, you must consider this hotel. the room is comfortable & the design is nice. the only problem is the wifi connection somehow not too good inside the room.
A great staycation”
We had a nice and pleasant stay in The Club for Year 2016 Christmas celebration. Everything inside the room was great and staffs were helpful and friendly. However the breakfast might need a little more improvement for the taste.
It is my new fave hotel in Singpaore”
I travel a lot for work and usually stay at the large hotels in Orchard rd. This was the first time I'd stayed at The Club and was very impressed. The rooms are great; large comfortable bed and designer furniture. Window that open are something of a rarity in Singapore and this boutique hotel provides all of the comforts of 5 star corporate places, with the warmth and personal attention that only a smaller establishment can offer. The breakfast is good, with a choice of English or Continental. I went for the English and my only disappointment was no yogurt...a convenience store across the road solved that.
Very nice and cozy boutique hotel”
Very convenient location where there are lots of pubs, bars and eating place nearby. The deco is attractive. We really love staying here. The only one thing is water at the shower area drain away too slowly, causing water to spill all over the place. Hope the hotel can make improvement on this.
A small but nice hotel nearby China Town and Club street”
It is a small hotel located nearby Club street. I expected some noisy because of the location, but I had really comfortable stay there without any interruption. If you are going to use MRT a lot, it is not so much convenient because you need to walk for 7 to 8 mins to MRT stations from the hotel. Otherwise, it is ok location. Indeed, Singapore is not a big country, so you may travel on foot.
Friendly staffs, wonderful breakfast”
The Club is near to 3 MRT stations, we can choose Tanjung Pagar, Teluk Ayer or Chinatown station to reach other attractions. The Club upgraded the room for us to larger room. Nice environment and comfortable.
Great boutique hotel”
The hotel locate In walk in distance from chinatown, for you who wish to have different ambiance than orchard rd tourist area this area will be a great option. You have lots of choices of food with different style optional nearby, local foodcourt, local foodstreet for tourist, hip western cafe and restaurant also rooftop bars to hang out. Since the hotel quite new, Not many taxi drivers know the name of it but the road itself is very easy to locate so just show the address then they will drive you there easily. But for mrt station will be need 10-15 minutes walk. The hotel itself not very big, they only have 3 floors, the room size whether it is not spacious but still ok for bussines traveler like us ( book for the corner or suite if you want to have bigger space) Furnished with eclectic 60's art deco style furniture, the room has the most super comfortable bed i've ever found in boutique hotel and equiped with nespreso coffe machine, modern flatt tv, stylish wooden box radio and most comforting toiletries from uk. The breakfast also wonderful, even only have 3 different bfast style to serve ( not buffet) continental, english and malay but they served it excellent, from the quality of the bread , homemade jam till decent coffee. But What makes this hotel very special to me is all their staff who are very friendly, warm and helpful,-- shamala, diana and esp the night manager Joseph who are very responsif when we have leaking water in our bathroom ( quite understandable since the hotel locate in vintage old house) and solved the problem directly on the next day . Bit noise in certain hour at night when few trucks passing by but still ok for us since the room were very comfy. For sure will recommend this hotel for all who enjoy and look for quality home boutique hotel when you visit singapore, not sure if suitable for traveler with young children.
Enjoyed the stay”
Staff were very thoughtful, they even remembered my name. The room was very comfortable and the location was very close to food places and bars. However the toilet leaked and the reading lamp was rather unstable. Would have been even better if those were fixed.
New Year ”
Great! I've never bothered to review any hotel till now. They cdnt give the room tat was promised as it was the height of the peak season but they handled it v well n upgraded the room when they could
My husband and me are travelling all over the year and staying in hotel more than hundred nights every year but we seldom to write hotel reviews. First of all, the location is very convenient, it's closed to China Town Food street and around with many restaurants and bars. Night time is a bit noisy if you stay in lower floor but its stopped in reasonably time. Hotel was redecorated and reopened in July, the room is basically completely new, design is nice and modern. The nespesso machine and good tea are what we need everyday. Food is good, we only have breakfast in the hotel and eat out in the night. There are three choices of breakfast set and you can order to eat in the room. Staffs are super friendly and helpful, they could remember my name, and did the best to grab us a cap in new year eve to airport. Imagine when you are wearing a sweater and wait for a cap under the sunlight with temperature over 30 degrees! Last but not least, the bed is so comfort and we asked the brand of mattress which is the awarded mattress, we decided to buy the same one for our home. Overall I vote this hotel to be our best stay in this year. Remind this is a boutique hotel, if you want swimming pool or gym room, sorry this maybe a wrong choice for you.
This was an excellent stay. The staff is very friendly and upon check-in they switched our room to a slightly bigger room - very nice. The atmosphere is great and the breakfast ala carte menu was fantastic. We will come again if the same deal is provided.
style, comfort, in great location”
Excellent. Maybe because it is new but I hope not. V stylish, elegant boutique hotel with great roof terrace. Just a shame one can't enjoy a drink on the terrace behind the lounge. Need to have some nibble to have with a drink. Would not chose to have a cocktail there as no nuts, nibbles etc.
The perfect place to stay in SG!!”
This property was recently renovated (3 months ago) and has really good design esp for those that are really into art & interior design. Loved the room, the paintings around the hotel, the furniture.. everything! Service was great, elevated our whole stay. Highly recommend to book room + bfst, the quality of food and drinks at the restaurant is superb. Will definitely come again!!
Noisy, indifferent service”
Quirky hotel in Chinatown. Indifferent service, especially poor in restaurant during breakfast. Expected it to be loud on the weekend given the location and it was. However the noise on the weekdays. With no one on the streets was coming from them blasting music to an audience of no one. Most indifferent service we encountered in Six weeks of Asia travel. Rooms were nice and clean and well equipped. Too many better options at similar price point in Singapore. Would not return.
The staff was more that excellent.. We got there before our rom was ready, so they provided us place to store luggage, cold drinks. When ever we had a question, they had an answer.. BEST hotel we have stayed in in a very long time. Highly recommend this hotel
Charming Hotel, Great Location, Excellent Service”
We absolutely loved the hotel, and especially the service. The staff was extremely helpful. The hotel was charming, with all those nice little extra details that would be expected in a much more expensive hotel. The historic building has been charmingly refurbished. And the location - steps away from Chinatown and the MRT couldn’t be better.
CNY Weekend ”
Booked 2 rooms with my family last CNY weekend and the place didnt disappoint. I loved the overall vibe of the place. The rooms were nicely designed with wooden furnitures, and there was enough space for the kids to run around. I also liked their idea of serving breakfast in bed. Foods were delish.
Chic interior, spacious, clean and new. They provide ear plugs and eye mask in the room, as expected noise from the clubbing scenes downstair. But we still manage to sleep well. The food choices are wide, from hawker food, Korean fried chickens, BBQ, cafes and pubs! If you are someone into coffee, there is this stall that sell very good local kopi at the Maxwell Food Centre (first row) or the smooth flat white at Drury Lane cafe.
