Good hotel but faaaaaaaarrrrrr from everything”
The hotel is nicely renovated, has a lot of charcater and the rooms are lovely. There were certain issues with the hotel 1) the internet was incredibly slow and very frustrating to use, you had to login everytime your phone switched off. Also there were parts of the room where it wouldn't work at all. 2) the light switches are stupid and really hard to use, particularily for my elederly parents who couldn't read the microscopic directions on the light itself. 3) no swimming pool, 4) its so far from the city centre 5) it seems to be a training hotel of sorts so the staff would change all the time and while they were always very helpful and kind, they didn't always have information on hand. Overall I would strongly recommend the hotel to anyone who has business nearby or who comes ONLY to do to the three big museums nearby. The hotel is not recommendable to anyone coming to Amsterdam to walk around the canals and enjoy the city centre. It requires either a 30min walk to the city or the taking of trams etc.. The hotel is in a quiet suburb with few food options nearby. The decor of the hotel is stunning and cosy. It has real charm. Great value for money.

Great location”
location, bathroom/shower, beautiful old building
We loved our stay at the College Hotel. We found it the perfect base for exploring Amsterdam, with a tram stop right outside the door taking ten mins into central Amsterdam. Staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. Everything was very clean and tidy. The old building was beautiful and the hotel has really played up to the period features to give an opulent feel, emphasising the high ceilings and old wooden doors. The bathroom felt 5-star and I loved the rainhead shower. The curtains were blackout curtains, which was great for sleeping in late! Would most definitely recommend and would love to stay here again. My only dislike was that the double bed was two single beds pushed together (seems common in Amsterdam), which is annoying if you roll into the middle of the bed or sleep close!

Elegantly and stylish ”
comfortable room, nice staff, cleanness
I had an enjoyable stay at the hotel. The staff was friendly and we could have early check in around 11am. The location is good, 15 mins walking distance of the Van Gogh Museum. Bus is just opposite to the hotel's front door.
