Acceptable”
Where do I start, more a glorified back packers than hotel.Have to hand your key in when you go out,no towels supplied told us to go and buy some or charge us 2 pound for a hand towel.Charged us 5 pound for internet that hardly ever worked.Got a room with a bathroom which was added on that would have been ok except it was filled with black mould, when you turned the taps on you had to hold the spout because it all turned, toilet wasn't attached to the floor it rocked when you wiped, sheets didn't fit the beds.Would not recommend this place to anyone.

Central location”
Location was great, near to tube, bus and train stations. The hotel is not far from Marble Arch (you can take bus no 7 from Praed Street just nearby) or you can have a good exercise by walking (20 minutes perhaps). Yes the hotel is rather old, and yes there are no lifts here, but this is true of many older budget hotels in London. People complain about the breakfast (cornflakes, toast with jam and butter, coffee / tea) but from reading the reviews they should know what to expect. If only they could change the carpet then the hotel would not look quite as run down (I stayed at another budget hotel in London as well during this trip, they had new carpets and this actually made a difference). The gentlemen at the reception, whilst not overly friendly, were always rather pleasant. The price was not too bad. If you would like to be in Central London, and don't really want to spend too much money on accommodation, then I think you ought to compromise on certain things.

Outdated and only the sheets clean”
Use a little more money on hotel where towel and wifi included and where shower is without health risk !! To outdated. Staff really friendly and location 5 stars. If that's enough for you as a traveller please select The Continental. We are not going to Re-Visit

Terrible experience ”
It was a nightmare staying at this hotel. Though it is located in the center of London the hotel is full of bedbugs with snall and dirty toilets. The problem is that staff denied there were bedbugs, knowing that this tiny creatures are snart and can hide in seconds. They tried to solve the problem but they added another problem which is a stong pest control chemical smell and even though the bugs were still there. I had to rent an apartment which meant double expenditure. After All we need some time to recover from the alergy caused and forget this terrible experience. NOT RECOMMENDED AGODA's recommendation is regretted and i would expect a compensation if you really care about your customers. Otherwise being a columbist i will have to make people aware of this when i travel back to UAE this weekend.

Big disappointment”
It was cheap - the only good thing. We had booked 4 family rooms (4 to a room) but got only for 2 to a room. They did give us bigger rooms eventually, though they had told us clearly they did not even have rooms like that. Old narrow stairs, no elevators. Very cheap feel. No towels provided.

Very Grim Place Indeed.”
I was in London to do the British 10k so needed a place for 1 night and this place was £65 and for that you get absolutely nothing. No towels and for WiFi you've got to pay an extra £5, no refreshments such as a cup of tea. In fact wasn't even offered. The place needs a complete overall and is very dated and as a horrible smell lingering like stale bleach. The side of the mattress had stains on it which look liked they'd been there for years and the bedding was old and shabby. The walls are paper thin and you can hear other visitors using the lavatory. Avoid this place at all costs because quite frankly it's disgusting and when I do my Half Marathon in London next year I won't be staying there that's for sure. Check out other visitors photos on Trip Advisor and you will see for yourself how disgusting that place is. Makes me wonder how the hell they get away with it. Rather glad that I didn't bring my kids with me.

Up and down the creaky stairs”
The microscopic shared toilets/showers were often blocked or out of service. It's a long way down and up those creaky stairs to find the bathroom is not vacant. Free breakfast was very nice.

Cheep room in London with mold.”
It was one of the cheepst hotels in London and our expectations for the room were then. The hotel have a nice location, the staff was friendly, the breakfast was very simple with bread, butter and jam or cornflakes with milk. But what we did not have expected was there was mold in the room, especially in the bathroom and the cleaning was a shortcoming. So bad value for the money, very good location, bad cleaning standard and friendly staff. In total only 0,5 start, especially because of the mold.
