Pleasant”
Love the victorian feel of the place. But on the downside, our room was rather chilly because it was on the ground floor and did not get any sun. Room should have a mirror and bin please.

Visiting Auckland from the South Island”
The parking was great, the decor is charming...they really need to put mattress protectors on their beds - the mattress cover that was there was a bit stained and you could see it through the fitted sheet. I removed it and was much more satisfied. Everything else was great, though the bathroom in the Orient room is TINY - be warned. Could hardly turn around if the door was closed. Also, some mold on the rug where the fridge was - fairly typical in South Island houses so I wasn't too fussed but maybe remove rug where you put a damp mini fridge? All in all, cute little property, totally fine for our purposes.

Very disappointing. Cold drafty room. Single room is very sparsely furnished at back of house.”
No mirror in room. Breakfast very disappointing. Fresh brewed coffee was actually a mixture of ground and instant coffee.

Decent location and good sized room but...”
The bed was good but there was no air conditioning (not good for the middle of summer) and the room carpet was very well worn. There were also cobwebs. I think not much fixing is required for the place to work well, after all the lobby area and parts of the hotel outside the room look fine.

In bad bad attitude, not helpful at all.”
Clean is good, quiet
I'm Not feel happy at all with staying in this hotel. We're a couple with a baby n we had mistake with the booking, because the confusion of their room descriptoon. The guy in the hotel maybe is the boss, he is quite hard on us, n really hard to his staff too. He was unpolite and unhelpful at all. His staff was trying to help, but he's act like "no way, who give you the right to do that". It's very bad experience, we will not go there again.

Very best exotic marigold hotel in Auckland”
Basically the building itself is renovated relatively recently for give false impression of heritage building which is not the case. It's running by Chinese people and all photos provided are photoshopped much, furnished parts are made of cheap antique stuffs from various places. Parking bay is quite narrow but it works. Location is about 10m driving distance from CBD so ain't too bad as well. Overall, if you expected some nice nights from a heritage place, you should steer clear from hear. They don't even provide basic hotel/motel sanitary kits. e.g) cheap shampoo and shower gel coming from dispenser attached on the wall

Excellent Hidden Gem”
Comfort, Location, Presentation
Excellent stay at this hotel, and certainly a hotel I will use on return visits to NZ. Staff were friendly, the room excellent and general presentation was superb. It would be good if they could provide breakfast options.
