Hostel just in front of a bus stop”
A short walk to Brick Lane and many clubs/pubs around the hostel so might be a little noisy at night especially weekend. Nothing to pick about.
Very dirty and run down”
It was filthy. There is dust and dirt everywhere. They need to hire proper cleaners, because that is accumulated dirt over years. With a piece of wet toilet paper i made a test on the door frame and it came completely back - and I have pictures of this -. Shower full of mold, smelling disgusting, again, lack of cleaning and ventilation. Location is great, price is alright, but they don't honor what it says in their website that if you book through them directly will be cheaper - , free breakfast and super friendly staff, specially Farid (Fahrid?). They will do renovations soon, so hopefully they improve the cleaning.
Average hostel in nice area but hard to sleep”
There is no input socket close to your bed, and on the weekends is horrible noice at night hard to sleep. Room is big quite comfortable
This place is okay but a particular staff member acts like he owns the place...he's middle-aged with a beard. He's in real need of some re-training
Staff is okay but the room, showers, things are not”
They don’t give hangers and irons to us. Next, they don’t have manners. There’s one time a guy who is a housekeeper just come in like it’s his room to my room who was all girls. We were very surprised at that time because one of my dormmates was just to change her pants. That was the first and last time
Being situated in an excellent location comes with a drawback. The hostel is facing one of the noisiest roads in London with at least two sirens per hour during night time and night time revellers until the early hours. The hostel is clean enough but the (berlin/shoreditch/rough-around-the-edges) style does that it does not look very clean. You can hear everything that goes on in the toilet from the rooms. Breakfast served late. Staff ranges from borderline fair to very nice and accommodating. Having lived locally for many years the Hostel was no better or worse than I expected and the price fair but at a penny more would be bordering low value for money.
I have stayed here many times and the reception is always friendly and welcoming on my arrival Most of the staff and volunteers are all very engaging and this helps to make your stay as comfortable as possible, the dormitory style accommodation can be challenging as people do arrive at any given time of the day so be prepared, but overall the ambience of this hostel makes it my no1 to stay in London Well done guys!! I don’t understand who will close kitchen to clean on the dinner time when ppl really need to use kitchen! The cleaning not doing really properly, hostel location is okay, but I wouldn’t really recommend if they don’t get improve
Rooms are clean and have lockers under bed so there’s space and luggage isn’t everywhere. Has full length mirrors which is unheard of for a hostel. Free breakfast is quite basic but it’s there. Location near lots of bars and reasonably priced Vietnamese restaurants as well as close to brick lane markets and many Indian restaurants. There is a bus which gets you to Oxford Street, Covent garden (west end) etc very close which is handy.
Not bad, not bad .......”
For a tenner it was great value. Stayed in 3 hostels, the one highly recommended, this one better than the first & that one was Ok
Lovely hostel, difficult guests”
The hostel itself is very nice and well-located. Unfortunately I was staying in a mixed dorm with five very drunken, very loud males on a trip to London. They were extremely loud when coming in at around 2/3am, turning the light on, yelling and laughing, and taking photos. One guest was so drunk he lay on the floor, which was covered in their belongings (you could barely walk through). I tried my best to ignore them, but when they realised I was awake one began trying to talk to me and when I asked them to be quiet he turned to his friend and told them I was probably fat. I tried to ask the staff for help but unfortunately no other rooms were available, and the staff member laughed it off as drunkenness. (Throughout the rest of my stay the staff were lovely and friendly). I felt quite unsafe, and after I managed about two hours sleep I finally gave up and checked out a day early...luckily I have friends just out of the city who let me stay.
Very happy ”
Everything was how it should be and the staff where fantastic as always. I misplaced my headphones and phone which were found and returned to me by the staff. thank you so much guys. ❤️
Very Comfortable and the staff were fantastic. Thanks guys
I love this place However be prepared for late night noise directly outside with the numerous bars in the vicinity The girls and guys on the front desk are fab and always accommodating and will always find a solution Plus all the cleaning staff +++ Excellent WIFI and cosy ambience makes this my no.1 place Kevin
Comfortable and The staff were fantastic
Very friendly staff. Good all round atmosphere”
Kitchen was a bit small. Registration a little slow at busy times. Staff very helpful and there are quiz nights so everyone can join in and make new friends. Showers are clean and you can buy or rent towels.
price 4/5, location 3.5/5, clean 4.5/5, staff 4.5/5, facilities 4/5
just do it”
showers could be better but best hostel hands down
Comfy Bed, Ultra Friendly Staff & Free Breakfast!”
I found the mattress hard enough & suited my spine well. Comfy as I was dead tired after a day's walk in London. Our 6 beds dorm which is facing the main street could be a little rowdy & noisy in the middle of the night though..but if you close the window tight, it should filter out the bar people sound. During our stay, there was 1 night when the water pump couldn't get up to the 3rd floor, so had to go the 2nd floor to shower & with intermittent water pressure managed to have hot shower. The problem was resolved soon enough. It was a rare issue. Showers & toilets are small and a little dirty. Perhaps could be a bit cleaner.. Ultra friendly staff and the simple free breakkie was a winner! Tips: Not to be missed if you like markets & within walking distance are Columbia Rd Flower Market (go anyday), Spitalfields Market (Closed on Sat & Mon; Busiest–Sun), Brick Lane Market (Sun only), Petticoat Lane Market (Mon to Fri) & Leadenhall Market (Mon to Fri 11am-4pm; Best before lunchtime).
Good for living. the location was very good”
