At the middle of everything”

Great choice for a hotel. Staff was friendly. Was close to Union Square, Powell Station (if you want to try the cable car), our family walked to Lombard Street which was 15 blocks from the hotel, (we didn't mind the walk). San Francisco is such a nice city, and this hotel will be a great choice for your stay. It comes with a super small kitchen, has a mini ref, a microwave oven, pretty much all we needed for our short stay in SanFo.

Lovely but Loud”

the donatello was great for us as it was close to public transport, including the train from the airport and heaps of shops and restaurants. the room was fine but there wasn't a lot of sound-proofing. there is a nightclub across the road which was pumping music and crowds until the wee hours. there also seemed to be police sirens going regularly and it was really loud in our room! i don't know if we were just unlucky on the room we had or it was a particularly busy few nights in san francisco!

Great location in SF and rooftop views!!!”

Loved our stay at the Donatello!!! It was very central to SF union square and easy to get around. Love the club level for free coffee and having some adult beverages on the outdoor patio too!!! Room was clean and bed was very comfy. Staff was attentive and when we came back into the hotel they remembered us by name. In a pricey city this Agoda.com deal beat all others!!! You won’t be disappointed in your stay! One thing though- don’t get hooked into the presentation as they are just trying to sell you a time share..... it’s not worth the time or the $100 Amex or 30,000 Wyndham points they are offering 😢 Otherwise just stay and enjoy an amazing city and you definitely need to go to Alcatraz!!!!!

Perfect Hotel for value for money seeker”

This hotel is perfect for its proximity to union square, daily need such as water, snack, etc many good restaurant in walking distance. Free hot chocolate, tea, coffee with a view. Friendly and helpful staff. Recommend this hotel very much. Thx Donatello

Great location near Union Square”

Although a little dated looking, the Donatello is a great choice if you're looking for something a block or so from Union Square. Rooms are a good size and well maintained. Staff were pleasant and easy to deal with. We were able to access our room even though we were about 3 hours ahead of check-in time.

Consistently Good!”

We have stayed at The Donatello before and have never been disappointed! In particular, the staff are extremely warm, helpful and always ready with any information you require. Would definitely go back!

Perfect Stay”

Great location, close to Union Square, groceries and shopping. Rooms feel newly renovated with sink, microwave and fridge in all of them. They have a drinking water machine in the lobby; you can refill your bottles, save some $$ and the inconvenience of hauling water gallons or bottles from the stores. Club floor has complimentary coffee, hot chocolate and tea most of the day. No issues with room cleanliness, they even did our dishes. Considering SF hotel prices, awesome value for the money (even more so if you need a room for 5 people, that most other hotels can't accomodate)!

Best Little Hotel In San Fran”

My wife was feeling ill at the time we arrived at the hotel. At 930am, I thought it would be impossible for the hotel to check us in that early, but after talking to Evita about our situation, she managed to find us a room so that my wife could rest. Very appreciative to the staff for doing that.

Excellent hotel in good location”

Very nice hotel with big room, super comfortable bed, including the sofa bed. The location is just steps away from Union Square. The club on top floor is excellent.

Fabulous location and excellent sized rooms”

The location was excellent, just one block from Union Square. Room size was huge. On the top floor is the Club Floor which was great to sit outside at night on the terrace and enjoy a complimentary cup of tea/coffee/hot chocolate. Would absolutely recommend.

Great Location but staffs were not as great”

Great Location with lots of food and shopping around, walkable distance within the city centre. However, checked in staff overcharged my credit card upon my check in by USD500 for incidentals and didnt bother to give me a breakdown on it. I only knew when I received a SMS from my bank on it. When kept asking for the breakdown, none was given and nobody could give me a reasonable answer on it the next day, despite my room being prepaid in advance. The supervisor only came in on Day 3 of my stay and explained it to me. Bad service from the front desk. Didn't like the timeshare presentation as well as they kept there for like 5hrs which wasted pretty much half our day

Good place to stay”

Location is good. Near union square and chinatown. Convenient to all means of transportation. Near Grayline bus office on case you wwat to go Yosemite, carmel and other places. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Room is spacious.

Perfect location, clean. Love the room with a microwave, sink, small fridge, dishes and silverware!!”

Noisy at night if your room is in the street side. We requested a quite room but got the room in the street side and had to request to be moved. Noise was really bad. Besides that a perfect pkace to walk arpund the city.

Rude shock by power drilling”

Renovation is on. One morning we have to endure few hours of power drilling (on the floor above our room) from as early as 8.45am. Hotel should inform us of such renovation during booking so we may book other hotel. During checking-in, staff is more interested in getting us to attend time share session & dining in list of restaurants, she even mentioned she will earn commission. Despite being informed we are 3 guests (during booking), the sofa bed was not set up. Hotel is in good location.

Superb location. New refurnished Room.”

1 block from Union Square. Near to cable car (1 block), buses and BART (3 blocks away). Room is new and comfortable after refurbishment.

Wish parking is free”

The hotel rate will be more value for money if only parking is free for overnight guests. Parking is quite expensive and it’s based on daily rate. Room is not as spacey as it looks in the web. Location is good. Overall I think just okay.
