Beautiful old building”
I really enjoyed my stay at The Ecotel Bangkok. Admittedly it was for only one night but the facilities were very clean and had a really nice old style feel to it. The staff was great and very helpful and friendly. I didn't leave my room early enough for my included breakfast but it looked like it was delicious and plentiful. My one critique was that I was at the end of my trip and had spent most of my Thai Baht but there was a 2000 baht key deposit which I did not have. The staff member helped by making a phone call and I was granted an exemption which I very much appreciated but it was a little added stress. Just be aware. All in all I would definitely stay here again.

Rooms that are not renovated are quite bad. For example, there is algae on their shower head and water heater not working well. After 1 night, rooms that are changed for us at their new wing are much better. Not comfortable with their room keys system at all.

Nearby so many street food but if you want to go platinum mall, Big C, palladium mall, four face Buddha, all of this need to walk more than 15min from hotel, either take tok tok or taxi rate 100 bath. Hotel breakfast everyday change. Majority of guest is Indian.

Deteriorating”
I have stayed in this hotel several times before and always felt it was satisfactory and a good value. This time, however, cleanliness was a problem. I don't think the sheets were changed before I entered the room. I was afraid of bedbugs. The towels in the bathroom were dingy and tattered. I was quite disappointed and won't stay there again.
