The Elephant Crossing Hotel

We cam a with a complex situation as we were taking part to a race starting really early and it seemed to be a bit complicated.. We could not shower ourselves after the run.. a pity, still perfect view if river side!

I was pleasantly surprised with the stay here. The room had an amazing view on the 3rd floor, the bedroom was very clean and modern and they have a good priced mini bar. The buffet breakfast was the best I've had for a while. Will definitely stay again when I come back.

No pool as advertised, additional cost for use of pool at a hotel down the street. Room on 5th floor NO lift. Breakfast was disgusting. A base for teenage group holidays, therefore NOT a peaceful base. The only positive was the magnificent river view from our room.

Nice river Mekong view when u have breakfast. My room view was not so nice, but this is because Mother of Gods punished me for something this day. And also they had renovation. But the staff are friendly . Not "i was born to serve to all f..ng farangs i meat in my life" but quite ready to help u.

The Elephant Crossing is located on the river looking across to the mountains. We had a river facing room that offered spectacular views. But the views from the restaurant were even better. The resturant for Breakfast is served metres above the river, which also offers meals and drinks throughout the day at good prices. Our room was a little cramp, but comfotable. The balcony offer extended space and a great place to watch sunset. Bed was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was a little old and cresty. It could do with a really good clean. The shower was strong and warm. Over all we really enjoyed our stay. The staff were great. The reception area and garden is beautful. Breakfast was good, but not spectacular. We dont really care about the breakfast though. The food in Laos is cheap and delicious, so why waste a meal in a hotel when you can eat a fresh noodle soup on the street. The hotel espresso coffee machine that made nice coffees so we had coffee and fresh fruit breakfast

Loved our stay at the ECH. Stunning view, especially at sunset, where we enjoyed having a beer (which is market price too) on the balcony and watching all the action go down on the river. Breakfast was lovely - large assortment of fresh and ripe fruits. STRONG coffee! Would love to stay there again.

The Mekong River view through the window is really beautiful. But there was a smell of sewage and bugs in the bathroom.

This hotel is ageing, but it's still a nice place to stay. Booked a deluxe balcony room on the 5th floor for two nights. There is no lift, so if you have trouble with stairs, book a lower floor. Room was adequate size and clean. Comfy bed, fridge, wardrobe, TV, desk, end table, kettle, and a balcony with table and chairs and a million dollar view. Bathroom was clean but oddly laid out. A single towel rack behind the door and no shelf in the shower for shampoo or soap. The property is beautifully landscaped and located right on the river. Breakfast was good - the usual Asian buffet except minus the meat wieners. Good selection of fruit. Ate dinner one night at the restaurant and was pleased with my meal. Prices and quality of food and drinks are in line with restaurants in town, and you get to dine on the riverside instead of by the busy street. Reception staff were exceptional - attentive and friendly, but breakfast crew was a bit robotic, nary a smile. Overall a pleasant stay.

On my last visit, I left my bag with laptop at the breakfast table, just before leaving Vang Vieng, for a trip in the north. The staff took great care and I was able to pick-up my bag a few days later in Vientiane.

Elephant Crossing is a great place to stay in Vang Vieng. The rooms overlooking the river have a superb view of the river and the mountains. The rooms are comfortable, aircon works well and the shower was good. The restaurant is right on the river and the breakfasts were very good. The hotel is in a great location, an easy walk to the town hub. We were lucky enough to be in town for the Boat Racing Festival, what an event! We enjoyed everything about our stay in Vang Vieng, a lovely place to visit.

The location is perfect facing the river and mountains. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Wifi is reliable (i stayed at 1st floor). Breakfast can be improved. Just during my stay, there was a construction beside my room and kind of disturbing. Other than that, this place is recommended for the price offered.

Very nice stay, we were on the 2nd floor with an amazing view of the mountains and river. The room had TV, fridge, wifi, soap, shampoo, kettle and balcony with 2 chairs, got a bit hot late afternoon but very nice until then. Everyday, towels, 2 bottles of water and a roll of toilet paper provided. The room was clean and it is only a 5 -10 minute walk into town where there are many restaurants to choose from. Also, next door, good place to get clothes washed. If ever get back, would gladly stay again.

The Elephant Crossing was located superbly. Stunning views of the land from our balcony. Staff were friendly and fun. The best part was the location - far enough away from the town centre which is dirty and a disappointment - really not worth going into.

Enjoyed our stay here, it's far enough away from the bars you don't hear them, yet a short walk if you want to go to them. Our room was large and as all the rooms do, had a great view of the Namsong with the limestone mountains in the background, beautiful view. Staff were great and always willing to help.

Very nice river view. Close to everything. However, the room is not very spacious and wifi didn't work very well when I stayed. The TV didn't work either. I would say if you just want good view, it's a good choice.

Hotel was clean, staff friendly and helpful. However hallway light came through the window in room which made it difficult to sleep. Electricals in room were dodgy. I could see sparks from light fixture at night. Hotel breakfast and restaurant served nice dishes. Hot water system needs improving. Other than this, it was a lovely place to stay in.

The Elephant Crossing Hotel provides excellent service combined with a beautiful view .The lady who manages the restaurant is charming and informative . Located on the banks of the Mekong ,it is ideal for both family and individual visits . The rooms are spacious . The satellite TV is the same as that in Thailand . The hotel has ample parking and is steps away from all the restaurants and entertainment in town . I highly recommend this hotel !

Hotel is located on the river and offers great views as sunset, as well as during the day when you can watch locals practice for the long boat competition and zoom up and down the river. Location is not ideal for eating/sightseeing, but it is only 10 minutes walk from the city center where you can eat/drink/sign up for tours. Staff was friendly and at night, at least 1 staff will sleep behind the front desk under a mosquito net so we were able to get water even late at night. Rooms were clean and AC worked well. All rooms have a river view and the restaurant was reasonably priced. Breakfast is includes and was not amazing, but good enough. No elevator, so be prepared to walk up and down the stairs with your luggage (which is find with us since we only took backpacks).
