Regardless of the newer establishment, it’s already showing some age, a bit rundown in the room and public areas. The main pool was not clean at all. Photos are very deceiving. Food was decent. Employees were very helpful and friendly.

A bit of an adventure resort in Cozumel”
We stayed at the Explorean Cozumel in the forest behind the Fiesta Americana. It was nice to have a bit of a secluded unit in the forest, but traffic and aircraft noise reminded you that there was other people around. The service and staff were excellent, the units were clean and well maintained. An excursion each day was included in the all-inclusive price, and we enjoyed most of those available. Food was good and well presented, but occasionally over-cooked, but there are numerous restaurants and options available. The beachfront has no sand, but snorkeling is quite good. If you want quiet you can stay at the Explorean pool, if you want music and party you can hang at the Fiesta Americana pool.

Explorean is an outstanding value and experience. The setting is quiet and peaceful , the staff and food are the best. I travel to Cozumel often and wish I would have found this hotel sooner.

Pool wasn’t working the whole time . Sewer backed up outside our door. Air conditioning had serious ”
Not at all what was advertised. Pool wasn’t working for 11/12 days. They closed the “ private restaurant “ that was just for Exploresn without any notice. Really bad mould in air conditioning in room. After leaving bags and clothes had mould on them . Communication about closures and pool not working was non- existent

Fantastic setting/Great Staff”
Lovely hotel with great staff,set at the rear of the busy 'Fiesta Americana hotel' (which you have access to all their restaurants/pool/gym etc) The Explorean is a beautiful hideaway for some peace and quiet to watch the Iguana's in the grounds or the humming birds from the comfort of your sun lounger next to the pool. Staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble for them,Mario & Mindy looked after the small restaurant on site with gorgeous food cooked by the chef Daniel. Dante on the bar made refreshing smoothies for breakfast and were to die for. The waiters Lucio,Rodrigo and Isaac made your dining experience run without a hitch,many thanks to all of them.The little old lady making the tasty quesadillas for breakfast every day should not be missed either. Free excursions were on offer with Rocky and his team of guides.You can do as many or as few as you wish,night kayaking/paddle boarding/jeep tours/snorkelling to name a few,very professionally run.
