A decent English noble house”
One of the best memories in Sri Lanka. This cozy British house is in the tranquile hills not far from the lake. The reception room is decent and artistic. The billiards room was a fun and relaxing time for us. The service is full of heart. It is our first time in a hotel where the staff prepared hot-water bag. As we didn't expect it to be cold in mountains, this hot-water bag warmed our body for whole night. Plus, there is small heater in the room, which is very rare in Sri Lanka but very useful in the mountains.

Elegant house by the lake”
Told the house was belonged to the first prime minister of Sri Lanka. It’s at the quiet side of the lake. Hide among giant trees. Facilities are good. Big bathroom, even with jacuzzi. Heater in room (important for a cold rainy night), and comfortable mattress. Staffs are nice, but a little shy. Tried to chat with them to get more info about the house. Pity they just know very little...

Nice location good check in and out,large room with good bed and very good bathroom and jacuzzi....good staff.....very romantic place...only thing regret is wifi was not available .we preferred it to the Grand hotel but most important food in grand hotel was superb......highly recommended for groups....

Old design ”
Staying at Firs hotel was good but the room was not clean, furniture was very old, heater is very small due to the room size, no ventilation in the toilets & jacuzzi not working well. Room & toilet size were very good.

Good place to stay, staff very attentive (sometimes too much). The rooms are huge and comfortable. Mobile phone signal is too week, have to walk down the garden to get a decent reception. Make sure you have your own transport or pretty fit and ready to take long walks due to the location of this property.

Felt like royalty”
They litteraly treat you like royalty. The service is fantastic but allmost to good for us two swedes not beeing used to this. We stayed at the hotel one night at our honeymoon and we we're they only ones at the hotel that night. We asked to have dinner at our room and that was no ptoblems. The bathroom is fantastic with a jacuzzi and a biiig shower.

Good View but annoing staff”
The staff are very annoying , they have no idea how to work in hotels .. All the time are making noise in kitchen and loby . The water was very cold .. Need long time to cool.the food is bad and no buffet.no snaks on room not eaven electric jug. Also the hotel is so wierd .. No body on it and the staff only four doing all things( food, cleaning, cashing,welcoming , etc) No idea why it is been ranked as 4 stars ..comparing to other 4 stars hotels it is expensive .

Just a house to sleep, not a hotel”
We didn't enjoy the stay. It was just a place for us to sleep. They asked to check-out at 11am saying that they are getting VIP Guests though there was no information at the entrance neither nobody informed us while checking-in. Manager was very rude. Location was not that good It was like a house which they claim to be a hotel

Worst customer treatment we ever experienced”
Let me start of with one thing that bothered us the most and made me glad to leave this place a bad review. The management of the hotel is totally careless about the customer and only cares about the money. There was miscommunication because of the staff’s bad english and then the hotel management refused to take responsibility and blamed us instead. We didn’t want to have breakfast in the hotel but staff insisted that it was included. Then later once we got the bill the manager refused to take responsibility and cared so much more about us paying 3000 rupies than actually apologizing. In addition, the room was very cold and damp. We only had this one really old and small heater in our room which was of no use. Booking and Agoda says that this place is a 4 star hotel but I really can’t see how. If you are looking for a nice place to stay where you will feel welcomed, then I definitely recommend skipping this hotel.

Bad Managent”
The manager was pretty rude. He did not know how to charge using Agoda, and he balme me for this and yelled at me. I called Agoda through international call and solved the problem, and he shows not grateful at all. The other staffs are good, but never will recommend this place.

It has 5 rooms in a cottage.. each room is let out.... Rooms are very big and spacious. Our room had bath tub with Jacuzzi.. It's heritage property... Own by srilanka 1st PMs family

Boutique hôtel”
Historical English style bungalow / home with 5 rooms owned by inheritance of Sri Lanks's first PM. Small property managed by great staffs. The property is surrounded by tea gardens and easily walkable towards it. Rooms are huge so, huge that sometimes heater fails to heat it. Great breakfast (not buffet but set menu) with provision for outdoor seating. Bit off city limits but can has communication nearby. Not a problem if you have your own transport. Highly Recommend!
