Staff could be more friendly”
No tissue, no sleepers... Many little things to criticize. Only breakfast brought positive mood.
Everything here was excellent except the fitness room, which is dark, dank, smelly, and TINY. Staff was great, room was beautiful, food and drink are delicious. Just update that god awful gym!
Quality all round, staff welcomed us and was friendly throughout our stay, it was very modern and enjoyed the treats with chocolates. Only thing missing as I have stayed in other hotels was welcoming you on the TV as you put on the TV, It was the best food and presentation and of high standards, just when your booking to let people know if you take your care there is a fee or can part at McCuslands which is across the street. It was a treat and I enjoyed every minute and did my friend.
7-star hotel with excellent location and great staff ”
Beautiful city to visit, great historical sightseeing, the hotel located near to all attractive areas and near to the shopping area also Victoria square is at walking distance. The room is very comfortable, big and clean , and the staff is always smiling and helpful.
Comfortable and clean”
I slept well at this hotel. If you are a light sleeper, I recommend a room in the back on a higher floor. The front facing rooms are across the street from a church that rings its bells every 15 mins between 9 am and 9 pm. Travelers should know that the fitness center is very small -- 3 cardio machines and some free weights in a tiny room. Only 2 or 3 people can use it at one time and it was already full when I tried to use it.
Nice hotel but being charged 20 pound for parking is very stingy from a 5 star hotel.”
No mention of parking charge before staying nor when offered to park there. 20 pound for one night is very expensive and would expect it to be complimentary in a 5 star hotel. Hotel was very nice and in middle of Belfast, staff were lovely too to be fair.
Very friendly staff and so helpful. We really enjoyed our stay. Everything one would expect from a five star hotel
We’re going to Belfast monthly and so far it’s best hotel and probably only one where we would be 100% happy to stay again. Great size room & really nice decor
Still Very Good”
This is my second time staying at the Fitzwilliam in Belfast and once again it did not disappoint. There was 4 in our group and all commented on the excellent service, the friendliness of the staff and the happiness to help us with our questions. There was 1 slight issue with the incorrect charge for a breakfast and the service that morning but it was quickly fixed and did not mar the stay or my impression of the hotel. It was cold during our stay so nothing better than sitting in front of the fire in the Lobby and enjoying a couple of quite drinks, perfect in the afternoon and even better when waiting to head out again. Once again an excellent stay and another chance to explore the surprising city that is Belfast.
Amazing location and rooms!”
one of the nicest hotels we stayed at while in Northern Island! Lovely location in the city center
Perfect location, Good Hotel”
All positive...except for a couple of very minor things (bathroom related only,.. 1. shower handle hose leak causing spray in areas not intended 2. No soft close toilet lids, very heavy too,...almost caused unintended circumcision !!!
Very nice hotel. Staff was great. I would definitely recommend staying here
Perfect Mid Week Getaway ”
Great location with extremely friendly staff made for a perfect mid week getaway. It's a great location and within walking distance to the city centre. The staff made the stay, the little touches like a quick phone call before we arrived to confirm if there was anything we needed, to the chocolates in the room when we came back after exploring the city during the evening. I would highly recommend this hotel, we will definitely be back.
Excellent Stay ”
Beautiful hotel in a great location. The staff was very helpful.
Good hotel apart from room service ”
The room service was awful. Tiny portions, things missing. All for an extremely high cost! The gym is also tiny and not useful.
Upgraded suite was quite nice, felt luxurious. Would stay here again. Restaurant service fell a bit short in terms of flexibility and waitstaff (except for barman, who was exceptional). Also exceptional were the concierges and bellmen, all of them were friendly, informative, working hard to be helpful, really added to the enjoyment of our stay.
One amazing hotel, with all the little details on board.”
This is a gem of a place, well located, with great facilities, and the room was just optimal. Worth stay and one of the best hotel experiences we had!
Fabulous hotel. Amazing staff. Beautiful restaurant & service. ”
Hotel was stunning with generous sized rooms. Spotless clean. Great location and really great food both in the bar area and the restaurant. But it was the staff that stood out for us. So friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back.
Dissatisfied with what is supposed to be a five star hotel”
Broken fixtures and fittings, food and dirty glasses left in the mini bar by the previous occupant. Met by a what can be described as a squad of security/ bouncers in the foyer asking for I.D. ! The swipe keys consistently failed, at the overpriced breakfast; we had to ask for cutlery and other basic details. Brought these issues to the attention of the manager and she was very apologetic and offered a return stay, but hasn't contacted us with details/ availability. If the Fitzwilliam strives to bring a luxury destination to the city; then it would need to look beyond offering a mere facelift and start with the basics of professional hoteliers trade
Delighted we stretched our usual budget for something fancy, such a comfortable and beautiful hotel.
