This hotel is beyond excellent. I was actually really sad to leave! Staff is extremely kind, thoughtful and accommodating without being cloying. Ian, Annie, Kevin and the rest of the crew are very helpful and considerate. Our every thought and whim was anticipated and provided before we could even ask. Upon arrival, an assortment of gifts and fresh cut fruit were waiting in our room, and fresh smoothies were delivered every day to the free minibar. Staff would come by periodically to bring us water while we'd be swimming in the pool. Front desk was very helpful at organizing tours, airport transfer, laundry services and storing luggage. One tip - if you want to book a spa service, try and book in advance as slots do fill up. I waited too long and didn't get the chance to try the spa, so can't review that. Next time!! The rooms and common areas are very clean. Even the outdoor walkways are mopped daily! We'd go down to breakfast, come back and our room would have been already cleaned. Floors even freshly mopped! So impressive. The breakfast is ridiculously good. So many choices and all so delicious. Lovely local coffee served in a French press. I can't think of enough good things to say about this hotel. No negatives. Considering the service and lovely perks, this place was exceedingly good value and worth every single piso. After check out we were presented with adorable souvenir bracelets. We went to the market and bought some fresh fruits for snacks while waiting for our airport transfer, and hotel staff offered to the cut the fruit for us... And brought it back sliced and arranged into gorgeous flowers. Wow! We've been travelling in the Philippines for 1 month now and have stayed in many hotels and experienced very good service in most of them, but The Funny Lion Coron has excelled by far. 10 stars out of 5, we can't wait to come back, and have already recommended to friends and family. My partner and I had been checking a lot of hotels in Coron and I could say that we made the right choice in selecting The Funny Lion. It has been an amazing 3N/4D stay.... wish we could stay longer. HOTEL - The hotel is not big but the size is decent. It has a swimming pool, restaurant and a rooftop bar. Location is good, not too far from the town. There's a store and tricycle line up just right in front which is very convenient. ROOM - We booked the Pride room. It is very spacious, clean, has a balcony and we got the one at the pool side (thanks to the Front Desk!). There is a minibar with selection of fresh juices which they replenish on daily basis with compliments of the hotel. We found a baloon, 2 bandanas and a drawstring bag - again, they are complimentary. How amazing is that?! FOOD - Our package included breakfast. They have good variety of food served in the morning and they also offer afternoon snacks or merienda...for FREE! (we tried it once - they served sweet potato/kamote ques and orange juice). Our favorite is the Carnitas Nachos from the restaurant. For the drinks, try the Maldita - it's a refreshing cocktail. STAFF - 10/10 for the service! Everyone's very helpful, friendly and accommodating. Special mention to Jay B, Kim, Bernard, Feb and the entire team for making our stay comfortable and enjoyable! This is the only place we'd stay should we go back to Coron!

The hotel has a pleasant atmosphere. Easy breezy to check in and out. There are plenty of personnel despite low season,walking throughout the hotel. This is a plus, as you will feel more secure. The staff, their services are top notch 5/5. EXCEPTIONAL. Theyre very pleasant and very helpful. I had a stomach flu ( ate food outside) they got all this meds available so i was able to still go and do those tours. Food was good. Breakfast buffet is actually very good. They do have different menu every day. Please do try their coffee and ask for a cashew milk, its one of the best. Rooms : 3/5. Lights are too dimmed. But beds are comfortable and smells very clean. The room itself smells very clean. Toiletries were shampoo and bath liquid soap and usual toothbrush,i suggest they include citronella lotions per room as there are lot of mosquitos in coron. Oh, they have hot water!! Shower water pressure is strong. For: people residing in the U.S, don’t expect their rooms to be as spacious as those venetian rooms in vegas be like or comparing to Caribbean hotels. But funny lion hotel is extending, They have this newly built rooms with pool front( shared) California king size bed, very spacious, and the bathrooms are bigger. Amenities: 2 Jacuzzis on the top floor ( walk up) no elevator. Gotta check it out ,they’re known for their beautiful sunset. Ground pool is nice,not deep. Very well maintained. Very serene. Their restaurant closes at 10pm. Happy hour is 5-7pm. Drinks are amazing,very generous with their alcohol haha. Only thing i suggest is i hope they had a fitness center. I had a nice, and fun experience, staying at this hotel.
