The Henry Hotel Cebu is a boutique hotel “like no other”. Unique, full of personality and charm with quirky décor and compelling design. Radiating above average hospitality experience with its personalized service, every stay will be a memorable discovery and a delightful surprise.
Every nook and cranny of this design hotel has been tastefully filled with creative conversation pieces from the much-photographed red doorman that welcomes guests at the lobby to the choice of colors, furniture, wall murals, pop-art paintings, down to the room signs, a perfect mix of European, vintage, industrial and rustic. Known as the Big Nouveau, each floor features a distinct concept: Fiesta Siesta, which showcases Philippine fiestas and celebrations; Cool-Ture, a celebration of iconic people in the Philippines; Art Beat, an explosion of colors; and Trance-it, which puts on displays signature Filipino modes of transportation.
The property offers access to a vast array of services, including outdoor garden pool, The Reading Room and Rica’s Café. For corporate and social functions, the hotel also provides function rooms for meetings, presentations and small gatherings at Space 40.
Each of the 38 spacious and cozy rooms at The Henry Hotel Cebu feature unique décor with every wall mural and quirky detail distinctly created different from each other by young Cebuano artist, Mark Luzon. Feel like you are in an art gallery and see murals of Marilyn Monroe, Moroccan windows, a lady posing on her vintage convertible, a brick room to pastel or brightly colored walls. Now, the art-driven boutique hotel is set to accommodate even more wanderers as they work with acclaimed designer Kristine Neri-Magturo in expanding their amenities to add 24 new modern-rustic suites in 4 additional floors. The Henry Hotel Cebu is your one-stop destination for quality hotel accommodations in Cebu.

Awesome place, Awesome staff. ”
I love this hotel!! My first time in Cebu and I won't disappointed in my choice of hotel. The Henry is a very well run hotel. The staff are helpful, knowledgeable about the area and genuinely friendly. The rooms are spacious and immaculate. Rica's restaurant has excellent food, service and staff. Great breakfast buffet, a nicely diverse a la carte menu and reasonable prices make this a convenient stop for any meal. Also the decor is just as eclectic as the hotel. The local area features everything from a 5 star Japanese restaurant, an Italian deli and restaurant and an exclusive spa (right next door) to local shops and roadside Filipino eateries. It is easy to access anywhere in Cebu from the Henry but be prepared for slight delays during peak traffic hours. But no matter where you stay in Cebu it will be the same. Because of the concrete building construction this hotel is extremely quiet. I didn't hear a sound coming from any nearby rooms. If you are looking for a place to relax and get a great sleep, this is it. I did have some issues with my room during my stay however it was dealt with quickly and efficiently by the staff and management. These things happen everywhere from time to time and I was more than satisfied with the response from the hotel staff. I will be staying at the Henry once again at the end of my journey around the Philippines. Try it, you will like it.
Exceptional!”
Strongly recommended to us by friends, we planned a layover in Cebu just to experience The Henry Hotel Cebu and we absolutely loved it. We were still a bit disoriented from our international flight but the staff were all helpful and accommodating. Check-in process was a breeze. We loved the room we were given. The breakfast buffet was splendid, albeit a bit pricey. Location was great, just a short walk away from several restaurants. Bought several items from the Anthill located at the lobby. There is also a BPI ATM just beside the entrance. We love staying at boutique hotels for our trip but the Henry Hotel Cebu beats all others in terms of customer service. Will definitely stay here again and hopefully in a different room; though we're not sure if the staff would still welcome us back since we were so out of place that time and couldn't even recall if we tipped properly.
Quirky hotel like nowhere else”
The effort in styling henry hotel is really commendable...everything down to the bottle packaging has that classy artsy vibe....the hotel staff are all very stylish and friendly, and the hotel really does manage to pull off successfully the entire feel of stylish art across its rooms..... taxis are very easily available, just ask the reception and they would hail one from the roads, you wouldnt have to wait more than a few mins for them......lots of restaurants around, a korean and jap supermarket and some nice massage places...location of the hotel is like 20mins from the airport by taxi.... the one thing we did not like was how dark it was in the room at night, and that made reading or finding our things tough.....the doorless toilet is also alittle too much and the hotel can avoid alot of the only negative reviews it has been getting by installing something permanent...i'm sure this can be done without taking away any of the hotel's swankiness.. all in all a nice place to stay and will definitely choose this place in cebu city..
Superb, exceded expectations ”
Quite simply The Henry was authentically amazing. The Henry is the epitome of a boutique hotel and for all the right reasons. The decor and layout of the hotel was well designed and provided a very comfortable atmosphere. Right off the bad the staff was very attentive and friendly. Our room was unique, bright, and open to the light. My partner's favorite feature of the hotel was the study room, a well lit, quiet, open space that allowed him to do some work before we started our vacation. The pool area is quiet and lovely, a little oasis in the middle of a big city. There were a few bars and restaurants nearby that offered some other dining/drinking options as well. We still talk about our wonderful stay at this hotel and have even considered a trip back to Cebu just so we could stay here again. It is a must if visiting Cebu.
Eclectic hotel. Good location and service.”
had a nice stay at the house of cebu (or is it called the henry now?) while in town on a business trip. i come to cebu often but this is my first time in house of cebu. the room was spacious and comfortable. the wifi was a little slow but reliable. it was odd that absolutely everything in the hotel said "house of cebu" but the welcome letter said "the henry (formerly house of cebu)." the hotel is close to btc and gaisano's and many food options. it is less than a mile from it park where i spend much of my time. i would definitely stay here again.
Splendid”
My stay in The Henry Hotel in Cebu, City was amazing! I knew I'd enjoy it since I saw the room behind my computer screen and when I saw the hotel in reality.. I confirmed myself that I'd have an amazing time! I LOVED every moment I spent in this hotel and I'll definitely be choosing this hotel when I go back and visit! I absolutely loved the syle, atmosphere, vibe and just everything. The hotel's location is perfect for night life, restaurant and peace.. also offers many fun garments and the rooms are stunning! Very spacious and just so comforting like no other hotels. It was my pleasure to stay in there, it was awesome!
High standard and cool decor”
I found this hotel to be very nice, although it is located some distance from the center of Cebu City. Taxis are cheap, so perhaps this is not such a big problem. The hotel is quite new, with a modern, industrial feel to it. The rooms and common areas are decked out with loads of funky art and furnishings - quite an attraction alone. The room was clean and modern and the bed, bathroom and air-con were all good. There is a pool on the ground floor at the rear of the hotel and it was fine. On the downside, the WiFi was very very slow, almost to the point that it was not usable. In this year (2014) all hotels should ensure that internet access is a priority - travelers need to be connected! Also, the staff are all asked to wear the same black-rimmed glasses to match the quirky decor of the hotel. That's cute, but I found it distracting and hard recognize them individually. I suggest that the management drop this silly idea. Overall, the Henry Hotel is a good quality hotel and I would be happy to stay again.
Awesome”
It was my first staying at The Henry Hotel Cebu. I was with my fiance and we were looking to just have an overnight staycation where we can enjoy a little bit of pool time, access the city's restaurants with ease, which is exactly what we did. I really loved our room. It was spacious, comfortable, clean, and very much pretty. The overall ambiance was great! It wasn't chaotic at all. Peaceful and stylish, if that make sense. I couldn't think of a better place to stay in that weekend. My fiance and I loved every bit of it and we can't wait to do it again. PS: I was going to leave a tiny bit of feedback about the comfort room which possibly had a drain issue. But other than it, it was spot on.
Nice hotel”
The staffs of the Henry hotel was so friendly and helpful, you can even feel that they were from true heart for guests. The one of the only unsatisfactory of the hotel was the lightning in room, it's too dark also the washroom was lack of lights. Otherwise, this is the hotel I must come back if I travel Cebu again. I must recommend the Henry hotel to friends who comes cebu.
Truly One-of-a-Kind Experience”
It was the hotel design that attracted me to stay here. I have seen fantastic reviews from different blogs raving about the unique design of the hotel and I wasn't disappointed. I was impressed by the hotel's aesthetic and unique designs. It's like checking into an art gallery. You will definitely take a lot of pictures. The hotel itself is quite small and the location, although very near a main highway is quite obscure. Most taxis are not familiar with it, because it is fairly new and not a popular choice for a hotel. You would need a good 20-30 minute taxi ride to get to the main city attractions. Thankfully the traffic wasn't too bad during our stay. It was truly the hotel's unique design that made the difference. The rooms are spacious and clean with plush amenities (high-quality beddings, large bed, high-speed WiFi connection). The breakfast although not buffet was fairly large sized and delicious. I'd prefer a good ala carte meal over a so-so buffet. With the Agoda price at almost half-off the published rates really makes this hotel a steal. Almost making it a budget hotel. If you want your stay to be extra memorable and just want a jump-off point for your tours or business travel then stay at the Henry Hotel.
Nice little boutique hotel close to airport”
My friend and I were in Cebu strictly for the Canyoneering. We wanted a quite hotel near the airport that allowed us the liberty to eat on site or walk to near by locations. ALL of our meals were at The Henry. We found the food yummy and worth the price (not terribly high at all!). The hotel its self is lovely and quirky. If ever in Cebu for a short trip I highly recommend The Henry.
Spacious & Unique Hotel”
Our stay in The Henry Hotel was superb. The interiors of the hotel is like a canvass full of paintings. Furniture and fixtures were very unique. The lobby is like a photographer's studio with different backdrops to choose from. We were accommodated by nice receptionists who can communicate well in English. We were given welcome drinks and were led to our Double Extra Large Room. It was really a huge room! Bed and pillows were really comfy, bathroom is clean and staff were more than willing to help us with our requests. If ever I'll be going back to Cebu, I would definitely stay in this hotel!
My favorite Hotel in Cebu some rooms better than others, very different than Manila”
Hip Andy Warhol interior design with a cutting edge, you betcha. The rooms on a whole are larger than most in other hotels. Un painted concrete floors and ceiling pillars, it's a rad hotel with the most modern vibe in Cebu. Hand painted murals on every bedroom wall. 3rd Floor has a reading lounge and staff is a pleasure to serve you. But I stayed in the large, xtra large and xxl rooms (the only one I missed was the largest suite) buy my room measured 78cubic meters! A sofa, lounge chair, the 2nd largest rooms are amazing. For the $$, you get one hell of a room. That said, moving in the the smaller rooms was a disappointment in comparison. The rooms were big but did not use their space well.. I was expecting lounge chairs or sofas in the XL rooms (2nd tier) but was sad to see a simple small table and two chairs for breakfast. There was some teething issues. When in the small room the 2nd time I woke up to go to the bathroom to slip on a half inch of water that had accumulated from a broken pipe in the floor above. Staff was good enough to upgrade me to a larger room. While being in the suite (the 2nd largest room), I found that it was very hard to keep the temperature of the shower. Every minute it went from scalding hot to cold... maybe a freak day... don't know.. And get used to a bathroom with no curtains on the showers, toilet or even to the bathroom itself.. modern.. would have preferred borderless glass for the shower setup. I like staying in Banilad, not too much traffic, close to things, Maya restaurant in Crossroads is a must.. Walk to have a beer or watch a football game or play tennis at the Sandtrap Banilad Sports Club. Restaurant here gets good marks for it's bar and the barmen, good service... the restaurant by itself needs some help. Was not impressed. Especially compared with the Henry in Manila which had amazing food but a completely lacking bar.
If you're tired of the usual”
Don't stay here if you're looking for the predictable comfort of other hotels. The Henry Hotel Cebu is an artwork that you can only appreciate and understand if you immerse yourself in the experience. The Good: helpful and professional service from the hotel staff, fun and quirky rooms, breakfast buffet wasn't as extensive but satisfying and delicious The Bad: wi-fi was spotty and a little slow, water pressure was weak
Funky, fresh, friendly - stay here!”
I have lived in the Philippines for 2 years and travelled to Cebu several times on business. This weekend i decided to stick around and see a bit more and found myself this hotel via tripadvisor. Not only has this place set new standards for me in the Philippines of what is possible in the tourism industry but in hotels themselves. Simple, quick, easy and efficient service. And personal - more than the Marriott i just stayed at. Booked at 3pm online and checked in 2 hours later and had my name printed on my welcome note in my room and a drink waiting for me. For my short 24 hours here i have been in sensory overload with the design; there is no particular genre just a huge collection of styles, features and quirkiness and it comes together into a super fresh and comfortable...home. The food is like home too. Brief menu but feel good. Location is not idyllic but when inside the walls you forget about the outside. If you are in Cebu City there is no other place to stay.
The best hotel in Cebu. ”
I had a wonderful stay at the Henry hotel with my boyfriend. The room was great. Huge bed large bathroom, lots of space. The service was perfect, breakfast delicious. I haven't stayed in any other hotel in Cebu and wouldn't look any further. If you like being close to Ayala it's not close. It's in a much quieter neighbourhood easy rah to airport. And only a short taxi ride from hustle and bustle.
Comfortable stay”
It was my first time in Cebu and I chose The Henry because of the reviews I've read. They are true...the price is reasonable for such a big standard room with unique contemporary interior design. I'm not sure if it suits a family or friends traveling since the bathroom has no doors. I personally like it because I was traveling alone so it's ok. But I'm sure there are some rooms that has doors for the bathrooms, you best request that first if that would be an issue for you. The staff are really nice however a lot of confusion due to the language difference I suppose. But they did attend to my needs either way. Location wise, everywhere seems to be further away and costly taking a cab. There are a few restaurants nearby that is nice...just around the corner of the hotel. If you are in Cebu to visit the beach...this wouldn't be a best choice. The one beach which the staff recommended me was disappointing. It was so small and so crowded and just really terrible. Even had to pay for entrance and also it was so far away from the hotel it cost me alot to end up at a terrible beach. To enjoy the beach in Cebu I guess either you go island hopping or live in a resort. I really love the room though. The most comfortable bed ever.
Modern style hotel with friendly staffs”
It's pleasant to stay at The Henry Hotel. A modern art hotel with friendly staffs! Nice room and bed. Even we stay in the smallest room in this hotel, but it's actually very spacious! Nice breakfast from Rica's, there will be perfect if the choices of the food more different everyday. We stay there for 3 nights, most of the foods are same. We will back to this hotel if visit Cebu again~
A polished gem in Cebu”
The Henry was chosen for our 1st Cebu visit based upon positive reviews. They were right. An informed and pleasant staff was knowledgeable and appreciated. Abundant art surprised and pleased with photo ops at all facility locations. Our fav: Red Butler upon entrance. Personalized water bottle a nice touch.
Great trendy boutique hotel”
I've stayed in hotels all over the world, and this is one of the best artistic boutique hotels I've ever been in - equaling the best in Chicago and San Francisco. The rooms are huge with high ceilings - I would guess over 20 feet. Even the hallways are extra-wide, giving a sense of openness to the whole hotel. The rooms have retro murals above the bed. Walking around the hotel is a pleasure because of the artwork and decorations. The one downside I found is the restaurant. I only ate breakfast there but it was way overpriced for poor quality. 350 Pesos got a single egg, ham, processed cheese, toast and fruit. But this is more than made up for by the restaurants around the hotel. The neighborhood of Banilad is the most upscale in Cebu. There are lots of really good restaurants, offering many local and international choices. I had one of the best Thai meals I've had outside Thailand just across the street and there are Italian, Filipino, Chinese and Korean restaurants nearby. In the past I've stayed near the Ayala Mall, which has comparatively limited eating choices after you've been there a week or two. The Banilad neighborhood has much wider choices with better food at lower prices. The outdoor pool is pleasant with a well-kept lawn around it. The staff are warm and helpful. I made a few of special requests and all of them were attended to quickly and effectively. I'm a regular visitor to Cebu, and this has become my new home here.
