We had a lovely day there the high tea was disappointing but this was more than made up by dinner
The best Sri Lankan curry we have had since we arrived a week ago The breakfast too was lovely They were also very kind by bringing up some grapes to our room when my dauter was sick Staff were extra Very friendly A unique experience

Not much facility in this hotel. it is situated in a quiet location above a hill. Hotel looks pretty on the outside with and english colonial feel. the hotel provides hot water bags in bed during bed time.

Worst Experience of my life time. The staff is worst. They wanted to question like you went to a police station before check in. there is not a single friendly face in the staff. breakfast is worst not worth a penny. the heater was not working so they provide hot water in the freezing climate. lucky we were not sick.

You're definitely paying for the classic architecture, NOT service.
We.booked and paid for suite, but they tried to give us basic room instead. Had to ask where room was and for help with bags. Had to ask for menu in restaurant.

Nice hotel - bad check-in and check-out experience
Nice clean rooms. Stayed in no 20 -the one with the wobbly floor boards! When booking in reception refused our requests to book breakfast and dinner with a curt "It is not in your meal plan" . Some consolation was that we mange to arrange all our meals at the adjacent golf club at much less than the $40pp charged by the hotel During checkout the reception refused to provide an invoice for the stay, we escalated the request to the cashier then accountant and lastly the operations manager all confirming that the hotel does not provide invoices or receipts for payment to guests.

Lovely old colonial building with excellent staff
Staff were excellent. Atmosphere was fantastic and like going back in time. Some things a little rough around the edges but worth staying and overall good value for money. Formal dinner enjoyable.

The service of the reception and the entire crew was wonderful,but the breakfast experience next morning was a bit let down cause the different service between western and asian custermer.we've been treated like group customer.

really disappointing experience at this hotel
We stayed 2 nights and throughout both the nights we were disturbed by dogs barking and crying beside our window at night 11 pm till morning 5 am and on complaining about the same to the management the response was like that they were just not bothered. most frustrating useless hotel please do not book your room at this hotel
