This historic hotel is huge and well cared for and the staff are fantastic. My Dad and I have been coming to this hotel for 35 years with different groups of family and friends. The food in the restaurant was wonderful - even had gluten free selections. Great bartender and full bar. Enormous comfortable lobby with fireplaces and ice water and great reading spots and gathering spots with comfortable seating. The rooms are large and very clean. The beds and linens are updated and very comfortable. The staff is very professional and glad to help with any needs. The location is perfect for walking to the hot springs pool, Vapor caves, river trail, park, and downtown. We have tried several hotels in Glenwood but this one is our favorite and just cannot be beat. Glenwood is a special place with lots to do and the only place we have visited where you can get off the train and walk to everything you want to do!

Amazing! ”
Me and my boyfriend came for nye and it was made by the room we were allocated! Room 424 had a walk up jacuzzi bath tub and we spent most of our vacation in there. I love how each room has its own individuality and all the employees were so friendly and assisting. Would recommend as the best place to stay here in Glenwood! Thank you hotel colorado!

Historic hotel, great location”
The first thing I noticed about the hotel was that it allowed dogs. Second, it is beautiful, historic and very centrally located. The pedestrian bridge to downtown is a few feet away. My nieces enjoyed looking around the hotel and all it’s history. Really good breakfast. Lots of places to lounge both inside and outside. I highly recommend this hotel for your Glenwood stay.

Excellent”
Gorgeous lobby. Clean but old fashioned rooms. Needed some updating. Comfortable mattresses. Good water pressure. Staff service was uneven but always friendly. Good restaurant but with hotel prices. Fantastic shuttle service. Plus ghosts on the premises! 👻

Too much noise”
Between the street noise & the old doors closing & the thin walls, you'll need ear plugs to sleep. People were super, and loved the charm of an old hotel. Great location . I understand there's going to be a big renovation coming soon so hopefully all of those things will go away.

The Hotel Colorado is very charming but needs some serious TLC. ”
Charging $200.00 plus a night is very steep for a room with a motel style window AC unit. The decor is dated and not in a charming historic way. I love the hotel but it’s too expensive for what it is.

Good”
The staff were great, but seemed overwhelmed, I think they were understaffed. The hotel and the history are great to walk through and check out all the pictures etc. but the rooms are disappointing. The heaters don't have thermostats so the rooms are either too hot or too cold depending on your preference, in the summer there is no A/C. Also there were bugs in the room and many unsealed windows so large amounts of cold air coming in. The restaurant is really good though, I would recommend eating there for sure.

Good afternoon Greg, I'm sorry to hear your stay with us was not entirely pleasant. We are currently renovating to fix many of the issues you highlighted. I hope you will give us a second chance to experience this historical hotel once the renovation is complete. Thank you
Very good”

Old hotel and event location”
As a hotel its old, if you like history and 1950s accommodations this is for you. No vent in the bathroom, rust stains in the bath tub, tiny toilet, but functional. I think this is more of an event location then a nice hotel, as they were hosting 3 different events in the ball/event rooms on the main floor when I was there. They do have some fireplaces which were a nice touch, and a little convenient store at the front. This is an average hotel with an amazing location, it is walking distance to downtown and three different hot springs.

Mixed review.....”
CONs: I got three bites on my legs... noticed them the day after I slept there. No breakfast included. No coffee maker or refrigerator in room. Noisey due to construction at the hotel. PROs: Close to downtown. Short walk across pedestrian bridge to downtown and Hot Springs.

Time to start remodeling.”
The lobby is lovely, the courtyard is too, but the rooms are not nice. It is time for them to start updating.

Above average”
The room we original we assigned to had bugs in it, water damage to the ceiling, burnt curtains from the radiator pipe, no U/C frig., conference chairs for sitting, a cracked sink in the restroom, no doors on the closet.... etc. Then the room they moved us to was on the 5th floor... better equipped room, but the elevator was done all weekend and going up and down the stairs was a chore to say the least. I felt for the people with large luggage, coolers, strollers, etc we saw struggling with the stairs... Plus, there was no MOD available to discuss our concerns/issues over the weekend??? Nick, the front desk attendant was very helpful and sincere in his effort to work these issues out for us the best he could, but no MOD was unacceptable. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone....

Not historical old but ugly old”
Our room had a stained old carpet; a tiny old ugly bathroom. I did not want to walk barefoot. Beds were fine. Not worth the money.

Old Hotel, not enough staff”
The hotel is quant and historic. Too bad there aren't enough employees to run it effectively. Ice machines were inoperative and as suggested we called room service to have ice delivered, but no one was answering the phone. One front desk person was checking in 3 and 4 people at 5 o'clock. Window a/c unit prevents you from closing the blinds if you want it running. In room coffee machine is a joke. Top it off, our credit card was charged $50 for incidentals before we even had any to charge. Should've stayed at La Quinta.

Unexpected but pleasant stay”
We got stuck in Glenwood Springs during a recent blizzard when I-70 was closed, and the rates at Hotel Colorado were reasonable and they had availability. We were very pleased with the room and the hotel in general, and felt very welcome and had a great stay despite not planning on being in the area overnight. The staff was friendly and pleasant, and very helpful when we needed advice for things to do. We will definitely stay again!
