The Hoxton, Shoreditch
Lovely room, loud lobby”
I stayed for five nights on business, the hotel is lovely and clean, very loungy and relaxed atmosphere, however on the weekend it turns in to a nightclub with dj in the lobby, too much for me but to my amazement as I walked in to the lift, music blaring in the lobby, as soon as I came up stairs to the room I couldn't hear a single noise from the music, really amazing how they have managed for such peace and quiet in the rooms with so much going on downstairs. The beds are absolutely amazing, the rooms were lovely and clean, I looked forward to coming "home" every evening after long hours at work, really loved the rooms. Its not an area of London I would choose to be in, I was only there because of work, but if I had to be in that area again I would definitely stay here again.
Sitting on their laurels”
The real let down of The Hoxton, was their staff. We found them disinterested and rude, the majority of times we interacted with them. This was a real shame considering that their tone of voice within their printed collateral, promoted The Hoxton to be relaxed, fun and friendly — a complete contradiction to what we experienced. The rooms are small, however clean, which is a plus. Finally, I was to believe that the hotel is smoke free, however people had been smoking within the rooms during our stay, which made ours absolutely stink. We phoned down to reception to complain, yet again, they seemed disinterested. Won’t be staying here again or recommending I’m afraid. Sadly disappointed.
Great stay! Generous room size and everything was spotless. A perfect location to explore East London.
Nice stay ”
Stayed for a couple of nights. Beds super comfortable and staff very friendly. Only issue was with the air conditioning. Had to change room as it got very hot in my first room.
Beautifully designed, perfect location for walking and exploring, not extravagant but everything from the breakfast to hotel amenities felt thoughtful and considered. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
Very dissapointing ”
Super noisy due to the very busy bar downstairs and large crowds outside smoking and drinking. No room service, no mini bar, tiny room. Reception staff were cold and unwelcoming. Better value for money elsewhere in London. Shop around!
SIMPLY THE BEST
Amazing restaurant and hotel staff, great atmosphere ”
Hoxton Grill is the go to place for food, it can get a bit crowded and busy in the nights of weekend but only the lobby area. Room floors are not affected. Staffs are the highlight of the hotel, very friendly yet professional.
Great place to stay in shoreditch , top location , great bar / restaurant , friendly staff , will stay here again
Eclectic, hip and good location”
Well located hotel close to Old Street tube and numerous eateries and bars in fashionable Shoreditch. Staff are very helpful, I liked the availability of an ironing room on the 6th floor, internet with no passwords. Style of hotel is fab if a little cheaply done. I doubt you can get much better vale than this hotel in a quite funky area. Lobby is too noisy for business meetings that it seems popular for.
Small rooms and not a convenient location”
The Hoxton is an incredibly trendy hotel, and is perfect for younger guests. My partner and I are in our late 20s/early 30s (i.e. not that old just yet!) and already we felt too old for the hotel. It has a fantastic (and very busy) bar and restaurant downstairs, however the rooms are very small (and smelt very musty). That being said, it's good value for London, and is in a great location ONLY if you're interested in exploring Shoreditch. Please take note it is NOT a central location, and you need to take the overground train to join the Tube lines (or walk about 8-10 minutes to Liverpool St Station).
