Old and tired
The hotel is old and in need of a revamp. The air condition in our room was average.. For the cost to stay in this hotel you can stay nearby in a new hotel. We booked a delux room but in my opinion it was bearly a standard room. Breakfast was a little above average. The only thing the hotel has going for it was location

Not my cup of tea
Too big, too crowded, too loud, too many drunk teens, not very clean had to move rooms due to a mosquito problem. Could not wait to get out of there.

It is what it is
Jayakarta is perfectly located with the beach right outside the gates and many places to eat within a short distance. The grounds are nice and with 3 separate pools its easy to cool off. It is a bit of an older resort but if you want new then you hav to pay new resort prices. Food is good, drinks are cheap and room service is 24hours and really thats all i need on holiday

Need improvement
Wifi connection is very bad in the room. Breakfast menu is limited and average. Several staffs are not frendly and pretty arrogant.

Location over quality
First time staying at The Jayakarta. although the hotel is old and does require a bit of love it was very clean and well maintained. There wasn't a day in the 6 nights we stayed where I didn't see a cleaner, gardener or painter. The pool areas are great and the location is unbeatable. I really enjoyed being able to jump out of bed and check the surf every morning. If it was no good I could hop back into bed for a sleep in. The breakfast was good although the bacon was horrible. Shower was hot and had great pressure. Wifi was temperamental and barely worked unless outside. Staff were great. No safe in rooms and the safes behind reception could barely hold a passport. Food was average and expensive but we rarely ate there. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends.

If you want to spend your holidays in the pool and the beach, this is the hotel to pick.
