A huge resort with good facilities, great staff and excellent location.....BUT..... in our experience at this resort over the Christmas period was shaded by the fact that it was so, so busy and all the guests were Aussies (just like us). If you want more of an authentic experience this is not the place. The swim up bar is packed with drunk people and the pumping music seems to get louder and louder by the minute. It is not a relaxing atmosphere as there are people and children everywhere. Even the second (adults) pool is no longer relaxing as you can hear the music pumping from the main pool swim up bar and it is unshaded for most of the day except for some umberella's which you have to get up at the crack of dawn to secure. With that being said, it is in a great location for entertainment and shopping as it is across from the beach and surrounded by loud bars and clubs (not the most traquil location either). Again, loud partying was not our scene so this was not appealing to us but if you are wanting to party and karaoke then you are in the right place. The staff are very kind and accommodating and the rooms are kept clean at all times. My family all stayed in rooms located in the main building (where reception is located - Building 2) which is the most central area. Some stayed on the upper level which can only be accessed by stairs but have a wonderful view of the entire main pool area, the rest stayed on the ground level which also faced the main pool area. We were in Room No. 291 and 293... Pros - Closest possible rooms to breakfast area/restaurant and main swimming area. Lovely verandah with shaded grass area to sit and relax Cons - The closest pool is the kids pool and you most definately WILL be woken each morning at the stike of dawn by the sound of kids playing, screaming and crying in the kids pool. The noise bellows into the rooms and you just cannot un-hear it (I will never opt for these rooms again due to this). The room curtains are not block-out so your room will remain light all night due to the spotlights attached to the breakfast/restaurant building in front of room. The showers water pressure is almost non-existant and squirts in all directions. Our party are older and did not have kids. If you do have kids then these rooms are the ideal rooms as you can sit on your veranda area or the shaded grass area in front of your room and your kids can play only metres away. I looked around the entire property at room locations and I would highly recommend Building 3 which is just behind the breakfast area but central to both pool areas. It is far enough away from the noise of the swim up bar and kids pool but only steps away from everything also. Another couple in our party stayed in Room 324 which was ideal as it was a very large room in a great location with 3 single beds. It rained while we were there and the tiles were extremely slippery and I saw many people fall. All in all, after staying here several times I find this to be a nice property for a certain itinerary and a younger guest type. I hope my honest review will help :)

Yes the rooms are a little older and tired, but they were clean and certainly comfortable enough. Staff were all lovely. Reasonable prices at the bar and restaurant. The staff are very friendly, the grounds are beautiful. Right across the road from the beach. Great restaurants and shopping close by. Check-in was smooth. The only thing is I requested a room on one of the higher floors and we got ground floor. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise because we didn't have to climb any stairs to get to our room! It had patio out the back with two chairs and a table. We were closest to the fence to the hotel next door, so it seemed very private and secluded. Yes, the apartment is old but it was more than adequate for us. The rooms are cleaned daily. The room has two air conditioners, one in the bedroom and one in the loungeroom. They are cold!! We turned one of them off and only had one running the whole time. It kept the room cold enough for us. Towels are changed daily if required. The shower is in the bath, which is a bit of a pain at first but you get used to it. Water pressure is great. The apartment has a small kitchen with microwave and bar fridge. Not sure what else as we didn't use it, there are too many great places to eat nearby! Bed seems huge. The mattress is firm not soft. I could have requested a mattress topper but did not bother. No safe in the room. Security boxes are kept at reception. The process is easy. Money change at hotel. Rates are comparable. They are safe and trustworthy. Friendly too 😄 24 hour security monitored gates at back of the resort. Safe and secure at night. There are three pools, two close to each other by the restaurant. One has a swim-up bar. The other has a kids shallow pool attached. The other one we didn't use at all so I have no comment. Pool bar was "louder" for 2 of our 11 days. It's what I expect from a swim-up bar, people sitting around chatting, drinking, dancing, enjoying themselves. It did not annoy us and if you want a swim-up bar a bit of fun goes along with it. The music There are plenty of loungers around the pool, but only a few have umbrellas. There is no other shade. The tiles around the pool get hot and VERY slippery. Wear slides/shies to pool edge and don't run. Extra careful walking around the pool area that is wet. Themed buffet style dinners were worth the $17.50 (aussie) per person. No tax on this amount, that is all you pay Unlimited food and great options. 3 of our 11 nights we had buffet dinner. Breakfast was included and also a good selection. Bacon, egg station, toast, pastries, Indonesian selection, salad, fruits, cereal, yoghurt,pancakes, waffles, tea, coffee, water and juice. THE LOCATION IS AMAZING beach right outside the front gate. Walk across to the many beach bars, sit on a beanbag with a bintang and watch the sunset and fireworks. We will be back to the Jayakarta in 2025. It is an older style hotel but great value for money.
