This is not a 3 star hotel för sure. The rooms are overcharged! No bottled complimentory water in rooms. For 20 years of work and travel in South East Asia this is a first time I experienced that . There was also a room refurnishment work on 2 floor and much noise in room next to mine.at 14.00 PM. I had to call 2 times to reception to stop it or change my room. The room I stayed first note/superior qween/ was infested by tiny red ants.that I discovered late at nite on a tiny table next to my bed. The breakfast is lousy for the hotel calling themself 3 star hotel (((They should learn how to treat and serve customers at the excellent 3 star hotel next door called 1929 where I spent few nights. ))) Can you imagine that the day of check out the staff couldn't or didn't want to provide a room for changing my cloth before going to the airport after 2 hours of check.I was directed to a dirty toilet next to reception. Outragios! The staff seem to have an attitude problem to guests
Its a ridiculias thing that MD mr Brown at Agpda has given 8. 1 This is not a 3 am star hotel but 1.5. This the first hotel in South East Asia for my 20 years of travelling in Asia that hotel does not provide bottled drinking water .The guest must go to lobby to get filtered water to his room where they place coffemaker. .No real frokost. They should learn how to treat customers from their excellent hotel 1929 and 1887 close to their property. The worst thing with loudy service was that In daytime they did a repair work at14.oo pm. When I complained they offered to pay 49 SGD .for superior room upgrading from standard room No stay there again. Not recommended to my business collegres!
Great location, charming historical feel, friendly staff”
I stayed the first time on vacation, since then it's become my go to hotel for work. The hotel is a charming converted shophouse, very no frills but clean, comfortable, and functional. The rooms are not large but the space is well designed and the rooms are modern and quiet. The location is perfect for pretty much getting anywhere you'd want to visit in Singapore and Chinatown is my favourite neighbourhood for culture, hawker markets, Chinese, Singaporean, and fine dining restaurants, bars, and even craft beer. If you want something convenient, comfortable, with charm, you can't really go wrong with this place
We stay there for 2 Nights. Taxi stand, can be reach by walk about 50 meters to the left side of the hotel, it's very near actually. But the staff also able to call the Taxi for you and its just a second your Taxi will pick you. The room and bathroom is big enough for 2 adult & 2 kids (below 7 years). We went to China Town MRT, the MRT gate its quiet far from the Hotel because we need lift for kids stroller . There's a lot of Chinese local food around the Hotel, also 7/11 available just a few meters.
Excellent location in Chinatown near bars, Maxwell food centre and close to Outram MRT station.”
The breakfast buffet is nice with healthy food options. The staff is friendly. They also clean the rooms daily. It's possible to store your luggage with them for sometime if you arrive early or have a late flight. The only problem with this hotel is the bathroom. The size of the bathroom is manageable but there seems to be an unpleasant smell coming form the drain and I also saw small bugs coming from the drainage. It was not too serious a problem but they need to sort it out quickly.
Delivers what it says”
If you are expecting large rooms and restaurant etc., forget it, This is a budget hotel in an old area of Singapore within 5 minutes walk of Chinatown and Outram Park MRT stations. For what it costs it represents excellent value for money. People often complain about size of rooms in these shophouse converted hotels. I paid a bit extra for a D/L Queen and was ample room. Complimentary basic breakfast included. Many shops and restaurants close by.
Strategy n good”
This hotel is budget hotel. Room is small but neat n clean. Only the toilet got a bit smell no good. Mayb is the shower curtain. The location near to niu che shui n people park center. Got many things to buy n eats. The breakfast is very simple. Staff is nice n frenly. Will back again.
Windowless room was pretty good”
This is not a five-star hotel, or even a four-star hotel. Having said that, the price I paid for this room was just a little bit more than a capsule hotel or a hostel. For the price, it is great value. You get privacy at a good location and your own private bathroom. There is a TV, a tea-maker, and a safe in the room. Maybe I lucked out, the windowless room actually had a shutter at top so it wasn't that claustrophobic. I needed to walk up some stairs to get to my room. There are also rooms on elevator floor available, not sure if it costs extra.
Good value and location”
As visiting Singapore General Hospital every day this was very good location being around 10 minutes walk away. That apart the location is still very good as Outram park and Chinatown mrt stations only 5 minutes walk away. There are plenty of bars and restaurants on the doorstep and even a 7/11 50 meters away. The heart of Chinatown is also only a few minutes walk. People often complain about room size at this type of hotel of which there a few in the area. Staying on my own and paying a little more for a DL Queen I found the room ample and would have been OK for two. Room had fridge, tea coffee making facilities, excellent free wifi and TV though if you watch TV in your room then this was a downside as only 2 watchable English channels, CNBC which is just US business news and an HBO film channel. The free breakfast is simple but was OK for me. If you are expecting 4/5 star facilities and room they you are looking at the wrong place and in Singapore expect to pay substantially more.
Simple but good location”
I am using this hotel for several weeks for 4 nights a week as is in walking distance of the Singapore General Hospital where I am having treatment and also Outram Park MRT which is on direct line to airport. Good location with plenty of restaurants and bars and even 7/11 50 meters away. Rooms are small but they all are in this area and OK for me. TV channel choice was awful but not a big issue for me. Simple complimentary breakfast but again OK. My room overlooked road outside and although could hear some noise not obtrusive enough to disturb sleep in comfortable bed. Tea and coffee making facilities and good internet connection and fridge and safe in room.
Best Staff, Value and Location. 7 min to MRT”

Small and Quiet Hotel with Friendly Staff in an Excellent Location”
Definitely loved my stay here. I booked two rooms for me and my siblings, and we enjoyed the amenities and location of this hotel. The next time I come to Singapore on a budget, I will surely book The Keong Saik Hotel again!
ONE OF MY FAVORITE PLACE TO STAY WHEN IN SINGAPORE”
WE ARE ALL USED TO STAYING IN ORCHARD AREA DUE TO THE SHOPPING PLACES. BUT WHENEVER I AM IN SINGAPORE, I LIKE TO STAY AT THIS HOTEL BECAUSE OF THE CHINATOWN FOOD COURT AND THE FACT THAT WE'RE ONLY MINUTES AWAY FROM THE MRT. FIRSTLY, THE FOOD CHOICES IN CHINATOWN IS SPECTACULAR. THEN IF I WANTED TO SHOP IN ORCHARD, IT IS ONLY A FEW MRT STOPS AWAY. AT NIGHT COMING DOWNSTAIRS OF MY HOTEL, THERE ARE SEVERAL NICE PLACES TO GET A FEW DRINKS. BEST OF ALL, FREE NESPRESSO COFFEE FOR GUESTS OF THE HOTEL AND THE STAFF ARE GREAT. ROOMS ARE SMALL BUT THAT WHAT TO EXPECT FROM SUCH HOTELS BUILT ON HERITAGE SHOP HOUSES. STILL ITS A NICE AND COMFORTABLE PLACE TO STAY. WOULD RECOMMEND IT ANYTIME TO FRIENDS. RATES ARE REASONABLE TOO.
Super Cute Hotel in a Good Location”
Booked this hotel with my siblings for a weekend getaway in Singapore. Location is very convenient! It's near the Chinatown Complex and Chinatown Food Street, and is walking distance to a Money Changer, the MRT, lots of hawker places like Maxwell Food Centre, and convenience stores. Staff is very friendly, breakfast buffet is good, and the amenities were way more than what I expected with slippers, fluffy towels, shampoo and soap, a vault, a ref, coffee and tea, fast WiFi, and a TV.
All round a good hotel ”
Not really for business travel but a great experience.
Singapore is not a cheap place if you want to stay in a central location. The hotel has a very good location, walking distance from all major activities, a hipster area as well as the famous Chinatown. A 7-11 is also just a few hundred meters away. The family room is big enough to share with young children and also clean and comfortable. The room has an attached well maintained small bathroom. It comes with a safe, mini fridge, tv but you have a limited place to pack your clothes and luggage. The buffet breakfast option is providing basic food like toast, eggs, jam and butter, juice, coffee and tea - the menu is changing daily and good enough to start the day with a full stomach.
Too pricey for a So-So “Hotel””
Im really expecting a Hotel like facility base on the photos that i have seen but then i was kinda dissappointed with the unpolished wooden floor. My child had itch from the comforter too. The location is superb though, near everywhere.
Double room is really super compact... Only for really basic travelers who require minimal space.”
Very limited rooms, had to upgrade to Triple as 1 adult & 2 kids, and the original room offered was really too compact for basic comfort - fortunately 1 was available! No complains about cleanliness of room & staff responsiveness. Fantastic location, quite some food options around the area (day & night). But, no complimentary parking. So, it's good for travelers who're not driving.
The room was basic but clean and tidy, good shower. Don’t worry about having a window, mine was shuttered and fixed shut. Great location for Chinatown (5mins) and the MRT (5mins). Easy to get to on the MRT. The staff are helpful and friendly, the breakfast is very basic.
Excellent basic hotel that is not a hostel”
Very clean rooms and hotel overall. We love that they clean the rooms everyday and refill the toiletries and coffee/tea in the rooms. Breakfast is basic but adequate enough and they tell you during check-in that it's just light breakfast. Location is very good because it's walking distance to chinatown food street and maxwell hawker center. There's also a convenience store nearby if you need to buy something. However, I don't recommend taking the MRT if you're coming from the airport. The walk is a bit long from the train station and you'll be walking through some ongoing constructions.
