Amazing stay at Bukit Bintang”
Location – This rare gem is strategically located in the heart of Bukit Bintang, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur is just a stone throw away if you jaywalk and cut through the back lane of Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur. Room – We have a spacious room, comfortable king-size bed, huge bathroom and living space. Equipped with powerful handheld shower faucet and rain shower, spending time in the bathroom is luxurious! Breakfast – Kedai Kopi Journal breakfast buffet, together with the a la carte dishes, are simply delicious. Swimming Pool and Gym – Located at the rooftop, the pool offers a good view of Bukit Bintang. Gym is just a tiny room located at level 10. The People – Front desk and restaurant staff and doormen are helpful and friendly all the time! Cons – Sound proofing is very bad, I can hear the noise from corridor, beside and opposite my room. The furnishing looks modern but but not durable. The carpet on the corridor (level 3) leading to my room looks old, dirty and colour/design (blue stripes and grey?!) totally off with the overall concept of the hotel!

Best value for money hotel in KL”
I am a frequent traveller to KL and have stayed at several hotels and really, The Journal despite its modest size is right up there with the likes of Holiday Inn, Berjaya Times Square Hotel. I stayed for five nights for my most recent visit and chose The Journal because on Agoda, it looked new and chic, the rooms looked well-designed and clean and the location looked great. When i arrived, the hotel is exactly what it looked and promised on Agoda. Pictures can only tell you the outlook and there are hotels that can match or even surpass the spacious, modern, well-designed that The Journal has, but! Not many hotels can match the service level of the staff. The bell hops are attentive and offered immediate help with my large luggage. We rang the service desk several times for stuff like LAN cables, HDMI cables (just to project our laptop on TV) and each time we were greeted by a friendly and helpful staff. When one of the light bulb repeatedly fused, the staff helpfully tended to it each time even though it's a small bulb by the side of the bed. Every staff i met at the hotel is worth commending. The roof top pool is not too big but has a good view for a relaxing dip. The soccer channels on TV is fabulous! Location-wise, it is a convenient 5-min walk to Pavilion and if you cut through Sungei Wang Plaza (5 min walk) and through Low Yat Plaza, Berjaya Times Square is a 10-min walk away. With Lot 10 diagonally opposite and Bukit Bintang LRT station a 3-5 min walk away, the location is near perfect. Right outside the hotel is a bus stop which seems to go most places (i didnt try though). Now the cons. Or con. There really isnt much to complain about except for.. the wifi. Certain times of the day the connection is really weak and thats why we needed the LAN cable. And perhaps the room being just a wee bit dim. So, really, those are my only gripe about The Journal. I had a fantastic stay and my wife thoroughly agree and enjoyed her stay as well. Thanks again to all

Excellent hotel with good location”
We had a fantastic stay at the Kuala Lumpur Journal Hotel. Location is excellent, couple of minutes walk from the metro station, as well as from the Pavilion mall, so good starting point to explore the city. Several restaurants and shopping possibilities nearby, and despite of its central location, the hotel is really quiet, so you can easily relax. We loved the welcome package with the "home made" map, showing all the recommendations where to eat and how to spend your day. The bluetooth speaker in the room is also a great idea. Breakfast is excellent quality, wide variety of hot and cold dishes. The staff was kind and helpful from the very first minute until the end. Excellent value for money, had a memorable stay!

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. We are glad that you loved our hotel and hope to see you again!
Great hotel!!!”
This hotel was great! Amazing location, would walk to the best shopping in Kuala Lumpur at Bukit Bintang, close to the monorail, close to Changkat Bukit Bintang. Rooms were clean and spacious, only thing I would suggest is more storage for clothes. Had an amazing bathroom with a really powerful shower. Loved the floor to ceiling windows which gave us an amazing view of the area. All staff were great, although special mention has to go to the security staff at the front door, they go out of their way to help you and they are super friendly! Also loved the outdoor infinity pool on the rooftop, although if i am a little picky, the pool bar menu could have a bigger variety of food and the pool temperature could be slightly warmer. This is one of the best value hotels i have stayed in anywhere in the world, and I will certainly be back if i travel to KL again!

Chic and good services”
Location: 5-7mins walk to Pavilion Mall, Lot10 and Bukit Bintang station. Very convenient Service: Efficient and friendly staff Room: well furnished and maintained. Room is clean and spacious. Wifi works well too. They also have Netflix on TV, which is a bonus for people that wants to chill in their very nice hotel room. Bathroom is equip with rain shower which is awesome! Room even came with a full length mirror! Only thing that can be improve is the hair dryer, or bring your own if you are particular. Brealfast: apart from the buffet items, you can order off their menu as well. Food are delicious! They have a rooftop bar with a small pool as well. Good for hanging out at night. Would definitely stay with Journal Hotel again! Thank you for your hospitality, The KL Journal Hotel!

Exceptional”
Thoroughly enjoyed our 3-night stay here! Room was spacious, modern and well-stocked -wonderful way to relax and enjoy the city view after a long day out! Location wise definitely excellent, short walk away from the Bukit Bintang shopping area without the noise from the hustle and bustle around the shopping area. However, the roads there are often congested and as the hotel is on a small road - drivers may get stuck in traffic on the main roads before getting to the hotel. Service staff were excellent, everyone has a smile on their faces and we really felt the warmth of Malaysian hospitality! Breakfast comes with the room stay, and they have both a small buffet line (Asian cuisine + salads) as well as an ala carte selection to choose from! You’ll be spoilt for choice! Will definitely choose KL Journal hotel again when I return to KL - affordable, modern, spacious and a true hotel gem in KL city!

Very lucky to have picked this hotel”
It was my first time to Kuala Lumpur so I was very fortunate to pick Journal Hotel for 3 nights. Great location, close to everything but just back off the main street. Great rooftop pool with music most nights. I had a view of the Petronas Towers from my room and the rooms are tastefully done with nice fixtures and fittings and artwork/photography above the bed from Kuala Lumpur's past. The business centre area upstairs is fantastic. It was a great place to work from and they even have a ping pong table!

2nd stay here in KL Journal and thats the reason why I came back!”
I have reviewed my stay here in Agoda on July 25th during my stay in KL Journal on 4th July - and am back here again! Because I seriously could not find any other better hotels that fits to my liking! I was welcomed by the great fantastic team (whom seem to know that am back!) and even acknowledged you because you are their returning guest. Little things like this makes the stay worthwhile! Requested for an early check in prior due to an early mrng flight and just needed to snooze in for a bit and my room (Deluxe room) was all ready when checked in! Their casual yet personalised service makes you feel at home, where everyone is family! Congratulations to the KL Journal Hotel, management & team from all depts for a stay that I have truly enjoyed again! Hope this review will assist anyone travelling to KL!

Great Location, clean and pleasant”
The hotel seems new in the middle of Kuala Lumpur Bukit Bintang street. The hotel itself is very clean and the room is quite smaller than I expected but great modern styled. Location wise, it is near to all the shopping centre, and close to Bukit Bintang monorail station. We'd like to stay again next time.

We will be back”
Where do we start? First off we were a little worried that the booking wasn’t going to be legit through here but were pleasantly surprised when things went so smoothly. This hotel is honestly so amazing. The attention to detail is incredible. We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the journal hotel. It was aways clean and the staff always friendly. The breakfast had a lot of options, fresh juices and coffee and was all fairly tasty. The room was just like the photos, the bed was comfy and the bathroom was so nice! Everything was very clean and well stocked. The location is really good being so close to the monorail, bus stop as well as many restaurants and shopping malls. Thank you to everyone at the Journal for making our stay so wonderful. We really enjoyed our time and when we come back to Malaysia will definitely be booking with you again :)

Design Hotel in the heart of Bukit Bintang”
Lovely Design Hotel w/ spacious room, which isn't pricey at all. Located in the heart of Bukit Bintang lets you discover the shopping & foodie paradise (such as Pavilion KL). This area also is called Little India of KL, so you may try some genuine Indian flavours. One thing I'd like to mention is the often heavy traffic jams in KL, super inconvenient when I brought a large suitcase and waited for quite long to get any car. Other than this, I can't find actual disadvantages of the hotel. I highly recommend KL Journal, beyond my expectations! [Blog & FB Page : 席克偉 Foodie Chicvé / IG @chicve02]

Superb Stay! ”
The hotel is near the mrt and monorail station... Also near Jalan Alor food street and walking distance to malls around bukit bintang. The staff was nice. The hotel is clean. We also got free welcome drinks at the bar (pool area). There is free bottled water everyday. Room big enough for 2. Thank you the KL Journal. We will be back again here if we are travelling to KL again. :)

Central, clean, quirky, value”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the KL journal located right in the heart of Bukit Bintang but to the side away from the noise. Within walking distance is Jalan Alor, Pavillion Shopping Centre, Lot 10, Berjaya Times Square, Sungei Wah and Low Yat plazas. KLCC is also considerably close by to walk to for those who like to explore. At night Bukit Bintang is full of life with bars and restaurants within an arms reach of the hotel. A lot of food options nearby and shopping to be had.

Great Stay at The Kuala Lumpur Journal Hotel!”
Great stay at KL Journal Hotel! I've heard so many good reviews of this hotel and finally made it to stay here! Have always been a huge fan to boutique hotels and this is one you can't miss out when you're in KL. Rooms are clean, chic and with their woody, minimalist concept. If you're a solo traveler like myself, this hotel fits you right! Staff from Front Desk, Restaurant and the Swimming Pool Club bar have gone above and beyond my expectations! Friendly and service oriented team! Review pages in many websites will always be complaints - but this deserves huge compliments! Definitely coming back here to KL Journal even for that short weekend getaway from 🇸🇬! Love!

Great location”
The hotel is unique with its own design and staff are helpful. The room is spacious and quite near to Bukit Bintang area within 10 minutes walking distance. The rooftop's swimming pool has a great view of Bukit Bintang. We managed to relax and chilled out at the bar there and enjoyed ourselves. Except for the pool, it is a bit dark in the night so probably the management could try to lighten it up abit. also, if you don't mind the mid night low level sound pollution then it is fine as we still can heard some sounds across the road. For the breakfast, it has a range of variety for us to select but as we observed, the staff tend to have their preference to assist the guests. Probably we are not the foreign guests (I guess). Overall, not that bad and can be better~ Overall, our stay in this hotel is great.

Facilities, staff”
We had a very nice stay in the Journal Hotel in KL. Very close to the shopping precinct for both high end shops and the budget friendly stores. Close to street foods which we quite enjoyed. Room was clean and adequately supplied. Every room clean service was quite good, we always had treats or surprises left behind daily. the hotel is quite environmental friendly, encouraged us to refrain from buying plastic bottles as they provide a bottle of water. Buffet breakfast was good. Staff were friendly and helpful. As we were international tourists and don’t know the local TV, it was good to have a smart tv in the room with the option of being able to have Netflix straight from the TV. The only issue we had was that when we checked in and went to our room, there was no help given by staff to move our luggage. Otherwise, good hotel, worth the price. Would recommend and would stay again in this hotel if we come back to KL.

Well Designed Boutique Hotel - sadly let down by their staff and WiFi”
The Kuala Lumpur Journal Hotel is situated close to the trendy, thriving Bukit Bintang area of KL. My family and I have lived and worked in Asia for 16 years and have travelled extensively during this time. We also speak the local language - Malay. We arrived at the hotel having booked 2 x twin rooms, inter-connecting as per the hotel website. The staff didn't appear to be interested in our arrival. Five staff were clustered around the reception desk and we had to say "Excuse me" to attract their attention. We were clearly an inconvenience! Having passed over passports to check in, the porter (who was very pleasant, from Sabah) helped us to take our bags to our rooms where we found we'd been placed in two rooms on one corridor - not inter connecting, and both with King sized beds. The porter called the reception who offered to have a folding bed placed into one room. We didn't want this so returned downstairs to the reception where the receptionist told us that it was our fault as we'd booked King Rooms and hadn't requested interconnecting. I then showed her our Agoda voucher which clearly showed 2 x twin rooms with a request for interconnecting. She then said they didn't have interconnecting rooms. Suffice to say, we eventually sorted out some rooms which were not interconnecting but were on the same floor. The Receptionist kept calling a senior staff member on the phone and speaking in malay about us - all of which we understood although she didn't know this. Ironically, when we arrived at the bedrooms, our children were placed in an interconnecting bedroom - but other guests were in the other room. It was not interconnecting to our bedroom. The website promises very fast internet. This is a lie! On our first night, we gave up and went out to a fabulous little Gelato stall, Jersey Jack, down the road where we could have delicious, homemade ice-cream and super fast internet! We stayed 2 nights in The Journal hotel and in order to check in to flights, I had t
