Great Stay at The Kuala Lumpur Journal Hotel!”
Great stay at KL Journal Hotel! I've heard so many good reviews of this hotel and finally made it to stay here! Have always been a huge fan to boutique hotels and this is one you can't miss out when you're in KL. Rooms are clean, chic and with their woody, minimalist concept. If you're a solo traveler like myself, this hotel fits you right! Staff from Front Desk, Restaurant and the Swimming Pool Club bar have gone above and beyond my expectations! Friendly and service oriented team! Review pages in many websites will always be complaints - but this deserves huge compliments! Definitely coming back here to KL Journal even for that short weekend getaway from 🇸🇬! Love!
Great location Excellent spacious accommodation Lovely staff Clean Nice roof top bar with pool”
Very well located for shopping at Pavilion Starhill and Lot 10 Malls and for eating in Jalan Alor Good accommodation Well priced Lovely staff Free internet Free parking Good range of food at breakfast buffet
Convenient location, nice breakfast, comfy room”
I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel in terms of comfort, look and location. It was close to the MRT station and close to Lot 10 area. My only issue is that going back at night can be a chore because you will have to cut through that enormous crowd that gathered for the street performer and this kind of blocks the pathway near the big traffic junction. You will also see quite a number of beggars along the road nearby. It is close to the Arabic street which can be interesting but it also means it quite crowded when you walk by. The hotel is located just off the main road so it's pretty good. The room was clean and sufficient. I was surprised there was an ironing board provided too. The shower room was well walled to prevent water from going out but the drainage was poor so you really have to not turn the water too big as you'll end up getting a mini pool gathered at your feet. The bed was comfortable and towels were good. A mini fridge with 3 can drinks were offered complimentary.
Great location and comfortable bed”
We stayed four nights at this hotel and found the room very spacious, clean and the bed really comfortable. Wifi usually worked well and was fast enough. The hotel is located close to public transportation which made it easy to reach by KILA airport train and MRT no. 8. We would stay here again.
go for deluxe king”
5 min to some malls and an eatery about 5-10min walk away. very lively at night. stayed in deluxe king, big and spacious. love the bathroom with rain shower. love the breakfast, very local dishes. only some staff are super friendly, esp a lady who's pregnant. very friendly very humble. but a couple will just do their job and not smile. will stay again when i come to kl the next time
One of the best hotel in Bukit Bintang”
location is very good, room is surprisingly much comfortable than other 5 stars hotels nearby and decent breakfast.
Excellent location, clean and friendly staff. Like the breakfast. But like one other reviewer has disclosed, the walk to the hotel passes by some narrow lane with shops and men hanging around. Otherwise it is a great place!!
good location, near public transportation. Nice and helpful staffs.”
On business trip but also go with husband and 3 years old son. My son love this place. Near Jalan Alor, near train station, but you wont hear any sound from the train- which other hotel may get. Near Pavilon and Lot 10. Key thing is when you book Grab, thay may dont know Jalan Beremi, or you can select Jalan Alor or lot 10 near by, then walk to hotel
Easily located and found ”
Hotel was easily assess via train station, Bukit Bintang, walking distance less than 10 mins.. Malls are easily reached and plenty of foods can be easily found, all within walking distance. The cons of the hotel, - route to hotel, traffic is very bad. - do improvise more on the breakfast, quite limited range and taste not very good. The Pros of the hotel, - all staffs including those 24 hrs security guards, services were excellent., especially the guards, very helpful. Overall, was a great and enjoyable stay. I will be back to the hotel on my nxt business trip.
Spacious room, comfy bed, clean bathroom, reliable staff. If you lucky, can get a room with city view, can always watch the triangle crowd, its make your day.... Now this is my favorit hotel.... note: I am so freak about cleanness
Easy to find, walking distance to Bukit Bintang area”
Pros: Hotel is easy to locate, safety as there is security around, the room is very modern and bed is comfortable. The breakfast is nice too as there is a range of variety to choose from. Cons: air conditional is not cooling enough.
2 nights in KL”
Nice and clean hotel, in a good position. You need just 5 min walk to be at the street food, or inside of the Pavillon center. The Petronas tower are also near (10 - 20 min) with LRT and the airport is just 1 hour away with Klia express and MRT. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the breakfast propose diferent kind of food. The staff is helpful and kindly. Will be back to the Journal during our next trip in Malesia :)
Stay here for 4 night, When the first day, a got the room at 3rd floor, so dissapointed. No view at the large window (just the apartment wall and neighbor rooftop. The Bathroom, have one kind of bad smell. So i ask another room. The staff name Issac (if i dont get wrong). He take my complain seriously. At tommorow, they give another room at 15. The room is so GREAT. Have a view to city, my little kids always can see the monorail train. The bathroom so clean (dont have any smell). Thanks for Issac to make my trip so Great. Sure will come back again.
Well located Boutique hotel at Bukit Bintang”
Pros: Friendly helpful staff from security at the door to reception. Very prompt service from Housekeeping department. Clean comfortable beds. Hot shower with good pressure. Close to shoppping belt, Lot 10, Sungei Wang, Berjaya Times Sq Con: It’s located along Jln Beremi which is a one way road. If you take taxi or book a Grab, expect longer waiting times and some traffic delays getting to/from the hotel.
Still one of my favourite hotels in Asia”
This was my fourth time staying at The Journal, it's such a great hotel - a lot of thought has gone into it and the styling and attention to detail is incredible. I was there for a week this time and wanted to use the Co-Working space on Level 1 called Workers Union. It's a great space but the Wi-Fi is unusable, it was still great though as I could use my Hotspot - but it would be an issue if you were downloading large files. We also had an issue with it closing at 8pm when we were told it was 10pm at reception. Security came and kicked my partner out mid-way through a conference call. It was pretty bad at the time however the Manager came to us the next day and was very apologetic. The staff were very nice especially the Trainee who recommended checking out the Bird Park at the Botanic Gardens which were well worth a visit.
Spacious, great location, nice staffs”
Journal locates right in the center of KL, Bukit Bintang, walking distance to The Pavilion, yet homey and charming. Spacious and clean room with nice bathroom, modern amenity with very helpful staffs. Roof top pool with an amazing view of the city. Minor areas for improvement are the size of gym, not even a gym but a small space with very limited equipment. And noise. A Bar downstairs blasts music til late in evening. And a door between adjacent / adjoining room is very thin, you can hear everything from your next door neighbor who may be partying all night in weekend.
Awesome Location !!! Awesome Pool !!!”
Pro: Good location, near to Jalan Alor and Bukit Bintang, less than 5 minutes walk to near Monorial, Family-Mart,Free Welcome drink at pool side, enjoyable & Instagram-able pool view, free soft drink in room, good room design Con: No obvious signage / indicator to Hotel Parking ( i park at outside of the hotel & thought that is hotel parking which cost rm10/entry ) , the level of sound-proofing is less satisfaction, the Pool size is small Overall , Is a good choice of staying in heart of KL .
Great option in Bukit Bintang”
Overall, staff, location, room cleanliness and rooftop bar are top notch. We had a room on a middle floor and still, the views were great as we could see one of the Petronas towers. The neighborhood behind the hotel is super seedy with the biggest rats ever, but the street front is perfectly safe/appealing. My one actual complaint is that EVERY time our across the hall neighbors opened their door it would be loud enough to wake us both from a deep sleep. Super creaky and annoying. Other than that, the place is "fancy" by my backpacker standards and is on a street right by the Bintang monorail. Staff were super helpful calling us cheaper, Grab cars every time we needed. The area behind the rat street does have some wild bars if you're looking for nightlife which is a bonus. Close by to Petaling and Alor, easy walks to and from both. Despite the neighborhood behind, there was always a friendly security guy on duty. Easily would stay here again.
The room was super comfortable with the soft and fluffy pillows. I loved the vibe the hotel oozed. The variety of food was not much but really tasty. So, I was happy. Location was good too. Honestly, I am really happy with this hotel and would recommend to my acquaintance.
Pros: early check-in was entertained. This is an absolute plus pt as travellers could have had a tiring journey. Room was clean & modern. Location is good. Cons: either the walls are thin, or the chambermaid wasn't having a gd day.. could hear the screeching sound of bed shifting, slamming & knocking as she went about her duties.. Pillows were fluffy but 'empty/ flat'. Got cuts by the bed frame as the formica sheet wore out with sharp edges, the housekeeping gets it fixed by taping the edges.
Take a look at these facilities:
