The former Hilton is great value for money, well located with an additional subway line being built right out front. It is walking distance to Jing an Temple via a pedestrian bridge with escalators that only go up (I was traveling with 2 kids and a stroller).

Clean and worth it”
Clean hotel with good service. Location is close to a few malls, there is also a lawsons just downstairs. You can walk through a nice park to get to the train station and the temple.

An expected hotel at a good location ”
We have stayed at Hilton on some of overseas trips and had mixed feelings when booking hotel at Shanghai based on review from previous guests. However, we thoroughly enjoyed our 4 day stay at this Hilton. - great location /walking distance near some prestigious department centres: Kerry Ann, Reel which are all linked together from basement. A good omen for the hot summer in July. We like the Ole supermarket and also the One in the basement of City Plaza ( opposite to Jing An temple). Good places to buy Chinese and import grocery. - hotel: clean standard room. Friendly/helpful staff/prompt service from Ms Rachel/IT support 24 hrs service/Laura from Housekeeping/Albert from the concierge whichis fully attended for any queries. - room service: exhausted from the heat and walking all over in Xintiandi and Tanzifang, we decided on room service and totally enjoyed the xiu long bao and Hainan chicken as well as the Chinese breakfast which is quite generous for one person to finish.

One of the best hotel stays I’ve experienced”
There is nothing to complain about this hotel; my stay was perfect! Stayed with Kunlun for the first part of my 2-weeks trip, and came back for the last 2nights with them again. I really appreciate and impressed with the effort and job dedication the chambermaids had. Everyday, I’d come back to my room and see my items neatly arranged :) especially with my personal bathroom items, they’d be placed neatly without fail! Thank you for making my stay so comfortable! Definitely coming back to this hotel When I visit Shanghai the next time! :)

Good business hotel with great location”
Hilton Shanghai Hotel is located in the trendy Jing-an area. From it, great restaurants, shops, bars and entertainment and tourist sites are easily accessible. Well-served by public transport. The room is modern and of reasonable size. The bed is clean and comfortable. The interior environment of the hotel is cosy and yet business-like making business travellers like me feel at home. Staff speaks good English but not too friendly, which is a pity. The other irritation, it does not offer free internet and WIFI services, unlike many hotels and restaurants. This is about the last thing, travellers in China want to pay nowadays, as even many street-corner eateries offer their clients free WIFI.

Brilliant hotel, comfy and worth every penny”
Even though this is a 5* modern hotel, i feel that there is a chinese theme to it when entering the hotel which i really like. The staff is always available and friendly to help me out. The room is big and clean and super comfy. The view of my room is great and i really enjoyed it. Just a short 3 mins walk to the metro which is super convenient. Gym and shower facilities are good too! Definitely will return to stay if i have the chance again to visit Shanghai

Good Business Hotel, Friendly Staff - but difficult to get taxi in the morning”
Went to Shanghai for meeting with clients who is located in the nearby . The staff was very helpful and fast for the check in and check out. The room was clean and spacious. Will surely come back to this hotel again. The only problem I had was catching a cab in the morning rush hour, but the staff has been extremely helpful and patient although a lot of taxi has rejected my request as the location was nearby (around 2km of driving). Really appreciated they effort and help.

this is very nice hotel and very close to the temple which is very famous of shanghai city and just take 2 stop of subway station then u will reach to the very famous walking street then just walk all the way of the walking street then u will reach the river and can take a very nice photo there and it is the signature of shanghai city..

Great service that accommodates customer needs.”
i really enjoyed my stay at the hilton shanghai. despite it is an old hotel where each rooms are not sound proof and you can hear other guest in the other room. thus we really have to control our speaking volume and also our television volume as well. the hotel is standard five hotel and it surely a great place to held a meeting especially at top of shanghai.

early check-in service(380CNY) and roomsurcharge fee around 40cny, and I'd been recommended wifi service 120CNY per day. but there was 80CNY service which was not really different from 120CNY service. It would've been better if I was told the fees when I called the hotel. and would've been better they recommended little bit flexible or reasonable prices. But It was really good location and kind service. cleaning service was also perfect. I would stay there again.

Good location and service but older design”
Walking distance to shopping malls, underground station and great city view. Staffs were friendly and helpful. Rooms were little bit small and old-fashioned. Distance to Pudong airport is around an hour (by taxi).

Regular customer and business traveller”
I stay at this hotel 2/3 times a year for around 3 nights a time. The convenient location and relative value for money mean its an easy place to return to. I have had issues in the past but most recent stay was pleasant. Previously I've been woken early by maids cleaning outside my room and in an room next-door, while my card to access the floor from the lift stopped working twice on one visit, the duty manager promised to over see a second stay but avoided meeting me when i returned hence the 2 stars for staff. However these have been isolated incidents in the 5years I've been staying here. not the best hotel but a good price, a easy walk to surrounding malls, restaurants, also has fast internet with a vpn.

The location is great but room need renovation”
i picked the hilton because of it´s convenient location and as it is a 5 star accomadation, wanting my mother in her 90´s visting shanghai for the first and probably the last time, to experince one of the best accomadation in the city. our room was a disapointment, really needing renovation and although the bigger part of the staff we met, as maids and porters were nice and friendly there were some exceptions. overall; pretty nice hotel but not so good value for money.

Great Hotel as always”
This Hotel is one of the best i stay in and I love it. Every time i return they treat me like they really value my visit and business, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are comfortable, well appointed and modern and the Executive lounge is excellent. The exchange rate has made this hotel expensive now which is a shame as it is good but may soon be out of my budget.
