Idyllic visit to Lagoon House Rekawa.
Lovely retreat far from the commercial resort formula. Warm and personal attention from the hosts and staff. Ideal location for exploring the lagoon as well as nearby Rekawa beach ideal for relaxation and turtle watching. Excellent chef in full command of delicious dinners and breakfasts. Engaging and warm hostess who kept us entertained as well as informed. We were totally satisfied!

Excellent Stay
beautiful villa, fantastic garden, nice pool, great food and very caring hosts
We loved everything about our stay; our hosts tried their best to make it memorable, preparing a gorgeous New Years Dinner at the pool side as well as introducing traditional Sri Lankan dishes for breakfast on the 1st of the New Year. Excellent food; loved the garden set right near the lagoon with birds, monkeys, iguana and many other animals to watch right in the garden. The family room was perfect for us and our teenager loved the privacy of her own patio. Extremely clean and very nice staff.

Hospitality in a wonderful location
Hospitality, relaxation and wild life.
Fantastic hospitality in a wonderful location. Set on the banks of an unspoilt lagoon, not another building in site, saw mongoose, monitor lizard and loads of birds while eating breakfast on the first morning. The owners and staff went out of their way to make our visit special. I would love to go back!

Luxurious and Tranquil Villa & the presonal touch
Luxury, Tranaquility and Food
We stayed here 5 nights and it was magical, the twin room we stayed in, is quite small in comparison to some of the other rooms, but was perfect for our stay. The public areas are massive and you can easily find a quiet place to relax and read. The bathroom area for the twin room is unusual but very nice and clean, with an open air part and sky views in the shower area. We were upgraded to a family room for 2 nights, which had an indoor shower area and also 2 level design, but we were still very happy with our twin room. Ranmali and Samantha made us feel very welcome and introduced us to many local dishes that we had not seen or tasted anywhere else, their passion for food and cooking was very inspiring. The Fantastic breakfast was a choice between Sri Lankan and western - served at tables in the garden or in the dinning room, wherever you preferred. My wife has dietary restrictions and Ranmali ensured that everything was made to her requirements and we enjoyed every meal and were impressed by their desire to help us understand the food and culture of Sri Lanka. We were taken by Ranmali to local food stalls to look at the huge variety of vegetables, to try the fresh fruit and then to experience these ingredients in various curries for dinner. Meals tend to be made later in the evening, but with the huge sri lankan meals earlier in the day, that doesnt really matter. the villa is in a quiet village about 10km east of Tangalle, its possible to walk to the local beach in about 10 minutes from the villa, but the beach at that part has no amenities. Some guests prefer to take a tuktuk to one of the beach restaurants nearer tangalle. We enjoyed sitting in the garden, outside areas and in the living room for much of our stay at the villa. The sunsets across the lagoon are very beautiful and there is a lot of wildlife nearby. I can highly recommend this villa if you are looking for a private and tranquil location to relax and enjoy Sri Lankan food.
