Worst experience
Travelled in August. Gave a free upgrade to the worst room. The bathroom was extremely poor in condition. Shower didn't work. Bathroom door was locked after cleaning and we couldn't use it over night. When called the staff, we were promised to get it opened in the morning but nobody came visited. In the morning when we approached the guy at the reception acted as if he did not understand anything. Total mess! Worst experience ever. DO NOT TAKE THAT ONE ROOM WITH BALCONY FACING THE ROAD.

Dissapointing
When we arrived the lady behind the desk was friendly, then she asked us if we would like to upgrade our room for an extra $5 per night and we said no thats fine, her attitude toward us seemed to change,we suddenly couldnt hire a scooter so we went to the hotel next door and they were happy to rent one to us ( The Rising Dragon) at a good price, the rooms were small and you couldnt really walk around the bed,we got itchy, the bathroom was disgusting there was so much mould around the shower, the breakfast was good but that was it, I would not stay here again,I would stay at the Rising Dragon hotel next door as the staff were friendly and helpful,I wouldnt recommend the Landmark to my friends or family.

As Advertised
I've stayed in 3 hotels so far in Vietnam, all booked through Agoda. This is the only one of the 3 that actually had all the features advertised on Agoda (room safe, fridge, balcony, etc). The other 2 didn't even come close. The young blokes working at the hotel are very polite and efficient. A hose blew up in my bathroom on the first day. They fixed it immediately and dried the floor. Air con remote didn't work - got new batteries straight away. I locked the door on the room safe without pressing the little button behind the door - no problem, they opened it and made sure I understood how it worked. I stayed in 2 different rooms. The Delux with balcony was a lovely room, large balcony where you could get sun in the afternoon or stay in the shade. Excellent big tv. The water pressure in the bathroom was terrible, down to a trickle in the busy times like early morning. I also stayed in their cheapest room, which is small and only has a window onto the corridor but again it's clean, new and as advertised. Had excellent water pressure all day. Only concern I really had was that both showers had blanked off power points, down low in the actual shower cubicles. You'd have to assume there's no live wiring in there but still a little unsettling. It's not difficult to fill something like this in, even stuff some newspaper in first then render over the front of it so it's easy to open back up later, if anyone ever comes up with a good reason for having a power point in a shower. Honestly, even though I prefer this location on the edge of the old town over the places right in the middle of the chaos, and even though I thought the rooms were lovely and great value, that one thing would prevent me from going back.

Comfy stay
Rooms are clean. Real shower stalls. Beautiful receptionist. Hair dryer and hot water heater and instant coffee in the rooms. This is a solid upgrade from your 10 dollar hotels and worth the extra cash.

okay for the price we paid
landmark hanoi is a cheap hotel, the price is good for those who are in a tight budget. I only have 3 issues on this hotel, the air condition was not functioning well, will take time to get cold and on our first night we really have problem sleeping since it's very hot. Second, the wifi sucks, I can't connect and even if I can, still can't send messages on fb or viber or even use safari. And lastly, the bathroom, the drainage isn't working properly and will take time for water to drain when you are taking a bath.

nice location
very near the Vietnam Airlines bus sration, so from airport just take a bus 40K and to their final destination, you will find the hotel after 10 minutes of walking. The room I had had no window, but the bed is comfortable, most important is that the AC works well! The staff was very nice and helpful, though I left in the early morning so haven't try their breakfast.
