Hidden Gem”
Huge resort, with plenty of facilities to keep yourself/young children entertained throughout the day. Sheep-feeding, picking up fresh eggs from the hens, visiting elephants, bird watching, rafting, stand-up paddle boarding, cycling etc all inside the resort. Resort is situated along the stretch of River Kwai, giving a very nice view and the greenery was amazing. The room was spacious, quite basic but very comfortable and clean. For the price you pay, you get a huge resort with all the greenery to enjoy, which we thought was way more than worth it. Will definitely go back! If you're looking for a comfortable, relaxing place with lots of nature and greenery this is the place for you.

Family Fun Adventure”
Our time at The Legacy River Kwai Resort was non-stop fun! We spent 4 days over the Christmas break exploring the vast property. Our first day we rented bicycles and enjoyed cycling around through the beautiful big, old trees, banana groves and along the River Kwai with our daughters, ages 8 and 4. The nice, paved trails were easy for our young cyclists to navigate. We found the organic gardens, watched the cute baby sheep playing in the grassy field and even happened upon the elephants with their mahout grazing in the forest. The next morning we woke early to feed the sheep and collect eggs from the chicken coup, a fun time for all of us! The buffet breakfast had a great variety and the service was attentive with kind staff throughout our stay. Our beautiful family cabin has a gorgeous view of a pond with old growth bamboo groves in the distance. We saw many birds and other wildlife with our binoculars from the balcony. The spa had a large onsen and cold plunge pool and nice swimming pool that we enjoyed every evening while watching the sunset. Our children participated in the Elephant program with staff while we rented the bikes and explored the beautiful nearby villages and farms. We arranged a day long tour to Hellfire Pass and stopped at Khmer ruins similar to those we had seen in Angkor Wat, swam at the Sai Yok Noi waterfall, checked out Lawa Cave and had lunch at the Boutique Raft Huts. This is the perfect, nearby getaway for Bangkok expat families who want to enjoy some time together in nature!

Resort by the river in a green nature”
Very nice place to enjoy the nature. It is 30 mins drive from the city. The resort is old but well maintained. One cabin has two adjacent rooms that can open the connecting doors if you come as a large family. I enjoy the greenery of the area. The morning air is very fresh and I see a group of bird-watchers. They told me it is a very nice place for bird-watching. The lobby and restaurant is next to the Kwai-Noi River. The food at the restaurant is very very delicious!! There is a swimming pool and warm water therapy tub which is in a separate building. The hotel can drive you in a buggy. The resort also raises some sheeps, chicken, and ducks where the children can enjoy feeding them and collect the fresh egg. Overall, I think it is a nice place to relax and reconnect with nature.

Not a typical destination ”
The resort itself is the destination. It’s sort of a cabin in the woods type of get away. For that reason I did not give 5 stars on location. It’s not really realistic to ask that. It’s off season so some things were not available. The pool was being repair and the spa was closed. But most hotels have their spas closed. The staff are wonderful. Would go back just for them.

Green and pure nature”
The hotel property is huge with the nice green space. What came to our surprise was the elephant museum. Great work and impressive .. it is the good destination for weekend away.. we will visit there again.

Countryside relaxation”
We enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Legacy River Kwai. It is definitely a countryside hotel on the River Khwae Noi that catered to bus tours, company excursions and guests that drive there with vehicles. The grounds are extensive and well kept. The bungalows are a little dated and showing wear and tear. The size of rooms are spacious. I understand some have kitchenettes but ours did not. Staff is friendly and responsive. If you want to go anywhere off the grounds you pretty much need your own vehicle. There are some historical sites in the vicinity. Depending on what kinds of bus groups are there is can be quiet or not. One night there was a company event with some very loud music. The buffet breakfast were pretty picked over by the bus groups so can't say anything good about them. The in-house restaurant is okay but pricely by Thai standards. There are some activities there but they are all pay extra (including the swimming pool). All in all a pleasant stay.

A Nice Hidden Resort by the River Kwai Noi. ”
The initial impression was not so good as the wooden houses look rather scary and worn out and 'hidden' by the trees. But the nice surroundings, greens and fresh air has overcome all little inconveniences. A lot of big trees and flowers as well as some sheeps raised in the resorts added colorful scenery & nature to it. Though the wooden log houses are not very new and modern in design, they are clean and hygienic as housemaids are doing their jobs well. Towels and bedsheets are changed daily. Services are comparable to big resorts but not the facilities.Activities in the resort for young children are cycling, trees climbing, camping etc. The resort has good view of the river which is a plus and most beautiful view are from the breakfast restaurant. Food quality is good but not very wide selection. Nice resort hidden in the jungle, not accessible for public transportation.

A wonderful stay for our family!”
Really enjoyed our stay at the Legacy Resort. Even though it was a little secluded from the town, it is definitely a place to be at if you are looking for peace and tranquility. Rooms are a little dated but it is made up by the excellent service provided by the staff. A special mention to the excellent service by the General Manager, Ms Rungnapa Jaruthassanakul who made us feel really welcome. She took the effort to remember our names and on the day we left even presented us with some souvenirs. A nice gesture!

Pros: It’s a very green and beautiful resort. Huge ground to walk or bike around. Bike rental available. Well kept gardens and paths. Right by the river. Very quiet and serene. There are sheep for kids feed in the morning. Small playgrounds located all around the resort. Friendly staff and resort owner. Cons: faraway from everything. You will need a car to get around. There’s a restaurant onsite but otherwise not much else. Very limited choices of food for breakfast. The cabins are old and need some upgrades. Overall, it’s cheap and reasonable. We had a pleasant time. If you are looking for a quiet place to relax and love nature, this is the place for you.

Lovely grounds, comfortable rooms. The main issue we had was agoda said that children could stay free, but they couldn't and they tried to charge us. After 1 hour of sorting out Agoda actually paid for the kids and a room upgrade. Would highly recommend this hotel for the area. Need transport

Peaceful retreat”
The near silence (other than the birds and the sound of the flowing river) provided an amazing contrast to the noise of the city (Bangkok). The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the rooms clean and spacious. However the a/c in the room was noisy and barely capable of keeping control of the heat (it was mid April, and very hot). The food was quite good, and the staff very friendly and helpful. A vehicle of some sort was essential, otherwise the cost of taxis etc made it prohibitive.

A quiet riverside hotel”
The hotels location is right on the river but as its out of town you need your own transport. The "cabins" are pretty basic and dated but they need our needs. Although it was large the resort was very quiet and relaxing and the staff were friendly.

Good Relaxing with Family”
The location was far away from town, but large area for relaxing with family. Delicious Food with reasonable price, we enjoyed for dinner, but only breakfast should be improved! The Taste was cold, not really hot especially boil rice. The resort was nice view and good environment. The Water Supply from the sink wasn't clear for the first arrival but next day was better. The Pool wasn't clear as other hotel. If we have more time, will stay longer.

When I asking for recept , they told me to ask Agoda because they don't have it ! Resort was huge, you have to ride a bicycle or travel by your own car. The location was complicate. Far from main road. But it's a nice quite place.

The breakfast is just normal, the choices are really minimal but the view is great. The service of the staff is good. Overall, we had a good stay at The Legacy. Finding the place is an adventure though! Need more signs!

Great Dining area but awful rooms”
Agoda stated that the hotel had disabled facilities for my wheelchair bound Aunt, and I confirmed this through direct contact with the hotel, but it is absolutely NOT true. The approaches to the cottages are over muddy rocky ground, there are big steps up into the rooms, the bathroom entrances are too narrow for even a small wheelchair and they have big steps down into the room (> 6 inches). Even the reception/dining area has steps everywhere and the public bathroom is not accessible to wheelchairs. The rooms are in very poor condition overall and not worth the money.
