Being one of the first colonial buildings dating back to the period of King Rama IV, The Legend Maeklong is an ideal destination to experience the Thai way of life. The elegance of the interior, both historic and modern, and the glorious setting are combined to create a distinguished feeling of style, luxury, and relaxation. Found on the river side, guests can enhance their vacation by discovering the Amphawa Floating Market, Fireflies Observation, King Rama II Park, Damnoen Floating Market, and multiple temples. After a day seeking out the delights of the town, be sure to enjoy the onsite restaurant surrounded by tranquil scenery offering traditional Thai cuisines and a wide selection of light refreshments. A well respected establishment, The Legend Maeklong is confident it will make your stay a very pleasant one.

ฺีHeritage Hotel at Ampawa ”
It is very good for stayed in there, not only early in the morning you can touch the way of life along the Meaklong River but also early in the evening you can seat in Thai boat for seeing a lot of firefly on the Lamphu trees, like a Christmas tree.
Very tranquil ”
This is a boutique hotel located away from the tourist areas. The rooms are very nice, with very much a local feel about them. The staff are very helpful, but only the manager can speak English. But this is not a big problem as sign language (with a bit of laughter) got the required results. The food at the hotel is very good. There are not to many restaurants in the area, so you really have to stay there.
Exceptional”
The Legend is a lovely place to stay. Their are a selection of different room styles to choose from. We stayed in a simple double room with private bathroom and AC. Fresh and light. Our daughter and her husband stayed in a traditional 1 room timber bungalow on stilts very romantic. The main building has a beautifully decorated lobby containing antique furniture and other artifacts. Great outdoor dinning and general chilling out area right on the river, a cool jazz sound track adds to the ambience. Very relaxing. Food is good, not great. Staff are wonderful. The owner is very friendly and warm, she even drove us to a local bus stop and helped us with finding and booking the right bus as a courtesy. Good english. Her staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. The railway market is fantastic fun. Cons. 300m walk to a pier to catch a ferry across the river to get to the markets.
Exceptional”
A lovely spot in beautiful grounds right on the river and close to the famous railway market as well as one of the (less touristy) floating markets. The tucked-away location is a little hard to find. All the staff were absolutely delightful and did everything to make our stay memorable, despite the fact that very few of them spoke either English or French. The room was large and luxurious, though sound-proofing with the adjacent room was less than ideal. The restaurant (also right on the river) offered good, great-value food, even if the choice was a little limited.
Nice hotel”
one night to see Amphawa floating market which was fantastic! Hotel is 30 mins away from the market, hotel organized a boat for 1200 baht for 2 hours, including 25 mins each way. Great old style teak wood room, very clean + good wifi. Restaurant was good and cheap. Only negative is breakfast, choice of rice soup or rice soup. No fresh milk for tea or coffee, I had to go to local 7/11 to get.some - 15 mins drive. Staff very nice and helpful.
The service is good, but the price is quite high”
The cleanness is not good enough due to there are small ants in the bed that disturb us all night long and the hotel didn't provide toothbrush for guest when compare their room price with other hotels.
it was valued for money.”
The hotel staffs were all friendly, attentive, and very helpful. The are was quiet since it's not located in the city center or near the main floating market so it's a nice location for those who want a real escape
wonderful time, good food,huge river”
My sister and I stayed there only a night but we had a great time and great local thai seafood. we sat and ate at the river, watched people travel by and enjoyed seeing the fireflies. it was such a quiet and relax evening. we do love this atmosphere very much. it was very unfortunate we didn´t have the time to stay longer.but we will come back for the next trip
A nice colonial building on the Mae Klong bank”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The reception staff was very helpful, the restaurant on the river bank has a pretty decent Menu to choose from, the inclusive breakfast was quite good and they helped us rent aboat for visiting the floating weekend market and watch the fireflies.
super attentive staff”
absolutely perfect for the price the place had rich history, fantastic traditional.design and gardens and was right on the river. staff easily arranged private boat tours and transpprtation. i would go back again and stay longer if i ever have the chance
lovely hotel”
hotel food is only very average and not as good as what claim by other traveler. Deluxu room is good as compare to standard room. location is very very difficult to find and need a GPS to travel this place. In overall this place is very good for relax, dining in the evening. you can also hire a boat at 900 bath go to amphawa night market for shopping and dining
Cozy hotel with service minded staff”
Room is in a traditional Thai style house. It gives you a nice touch of 'Thai' living with the modern comfort. The room is cozy and comfortable. There are no closet to put away your belongings. There's only a small area to hang your clothes. The hotel restaurant has good food and is located by the river making it a real nice ambience for dinner or morning breakfast. Breakfast is included with your room booking with a choice of western style breakfast (eggs, ham, toast, sausage) or traditional thai seafood rice soup breakfast which was really yummy - my recommendation! This is a nice quiet hotel. It doesn't have a swimming pool, fitness, clubs/bars. It is suited for a quiet vacation getaway.
Bright beautiful charming garden view room”
Nice room comfortable rooms great for a short getaway from busy Bangkok! Staff are friendly and very service minded. The main building is kept in its original colonial style which gives it a nice charm. Restaurant is by the river bank. There are tables and cushions that you can sit to enjoy the view of the river.
Peaceful Oasis with a fantas”
i went to the legend on a monday looking for some quiet time and relaxation, and it definitely delivered. the crowds leave after the weekend when the floating market in amphawa shuts down, leaving both maeklong and amphawa quiet. this gave me the run of the place, and it is very easy to cross the river into maeklong to explore the town. room and bed was very comfortable, and the a/c is quite good if you use it. plugs are north american 3-pin, although i recall only a few spare ones. all basic amenities, such as tv, mini-fridge, kettle, hair dryer in good working order. my only comment/criticism is that the hot water heater in my room was not that great, but not a deal breaker. i could pick up the wi-fi all the way from my room to the dock. the staff is very pleasant, friendly, and accommodating. as a side note - it was only myself and 2 other families there over monday/tuesday, hence 3/4 staff. the front desk staff speak english fairly well, but it may take a bit of work to make yourself understood by the rest of the weekday staff. they are also very unobtrusive, but attentive. compared to what you will find in bangkok hotels, the food here is very good at very fair prices, more like home-cooking, they don't hold back on the heat if a dish is supposed to be spicy. the riverside restaurant is also a pretty romantic spot as the sun goes down (east facing, but dusk is still gorgeous). if you want to hang out by the river quietly till the wee hours of the morning, they are happy to leave the lights on for you, and just buy your beer from the bar before they do their last call. if you are looking for some quiet rustic r&r, this is the place for you. the next time i go, i would try to arrive on a sunday to catch the floating market and stay through monday for a bit of quiet time. note: i gave only a 3/5 for hotel features, but that was a plus for me. i wasn't looking for all the bells and whistles such as massages.
Charming hotel with lovely service”
This is a lovely hotel, the room was built in the style of a traditional wooden Thai house. The hotel is on the bank of the river with the restaurant right on the shoreline. The main part of the hotel is an old colonial house with loads of character. The staff were really friendly and helpful.
Beautiful traditional Thai house ”
We booked the Thai house and it was lovely. After a long night flight from Germany and a good two hour drive from BKK airport, we were greeted warmly and had a lovely dinner next to the river. Our room was nicely decorated, clean and the shower worked well. However like in most places we stayed in Thailand not enough space to store things - no closet. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We loved the breakfast because there was always a little Thai speciality like sticky rice wrapped in banana leaves with coconut and beans. Delicious!!! We stayed for 3 nights and left one morning at 5.30 to drive to the floating market. Just as we left the hotel monks passed by collecting their alms. After returning from the market around 9.45 a.m. I tried for the first time - Thai breakfast - rice soup with seafood - fantastic. We considered the hotel a bit pricy, but it is worth it.
excellent relax & resting charming hotel”
vve made a one night stop on our vvay to huahin from bangkok - vve vvere the only clients, having the vvhole hotel and staff for us - very quite and peacefull place, the hotel has the charm of the odl indochinese colonial atmosphere , the staff is very kind and very helpfull
Nice and cozy hotel with genuine Thai hospitality”
best place to hide and when you want to get away from bangkok. everyone in my family specially my dad who is a very good chef agrees that the food at the hotel is one of the best we ever had. it's truly authentic thai food. the accommodation is ok but might note be for those who looks for five-starred service. most of the time we had to do self-service with no complaints as it's more like a family-liked stay and environment.

Nice hotel and very good service mind”
The rooms of this hotel are decorated with Thai Traditional style. It closes to the Maeklong river. You can spend your time on the pier of the hotel and reading the books by the river in the early morning and evening. The breakfast here is just ok, not that good. It's like breakfast of the most 3 stars hotels in Thailand, no buffet. People here services with smile.
