Convenience and Comfortable Stay”
I have a great stay at LimeTree Hotel, Kuching Sarawak. The location of the hotel is very near to Chinatown Street (the road just behind the hotel). There are also many food cafeterias to cater to many differnt persons (Bing! Coffee for Coffee lovers, Hawker Center which travellers would like to sample as many local food as possible, Chinese restaurant, local coffee shops that sells local food like Kolo Mee etc and an Indian coffee house). It is only 5 min walk away from the Waterfront. The Guest Relation Manager (i think) named Judy is also very helpful. She helped to check with for me for the Adventure Tours etc. She would also help to follow up on the Tour which we are interested with if she could not find the information at that moment. In fact, the Staff are all very helpful and attentive to their Guest's needs. I have a great stay at The LimeTree hotel and would love to stay with them again the next time i am in town.
Well located small hotel with excellent service”
We were pulling our hair out trying to decide between Limetree Hotel,Pullman and Grand Margherita. In the end it was the customer reviews and comments that swayed us in choosing Limetree. In terms of customer reviews, its rating is only second to Pullman. It is a small hotel (about 50 rooms), but very clean and well maintained. For AUD67, I booked an Executive Suite, the same price as Executive DOuble. It is a big room (42 sq m) with a KS bed, and all the facilities you need (including a separate shower and a bath tub with another hand held shower). The price includes full breakfast, free wifi internet. For comparison, a smaller room in Pullman and Grand Margherita costs about AUD90-100, and breakfast is extra. The staff there was excellent. No request was too much for them, and they always provide service with a smile. Although I booked through Agoda, I had many emails exchange with Serinah, the Assistant Manager, and she was extremely helpful and polite. When I checked in, she came out of her office and greeted me by name personally. While its location is not as good as Pullman, etc, it is a leisurely walk (6 minutes) to the waterfront, and the sunset river cruise departure point, and 2 minutes to Chinatown, and 4 minutes to Top Spot for a seafood feast. All in all, very happy and satisfied with Limetree, and excellent value for money. Would recommend Limetree Hotel to anybody.
Very Nice Boutique Hotel - Great Service”
Kuching, translated from Malay means cat, and as we strolled along the river that runs through the city there were statues of cats in front of buildings and on every street corner. My wife and I stayed at the Limetree, a little boutique hotel that has staked its fame on the look, smell and taste of limes. The drink you get handed when you walk through the door is a refreshing glass of “lime”nade. The green soap and shampoo in the shower smell like lime and the fruit bowls in the lime green and white reception area are full of big beautiful limes. We liked it very much. This 3-day rest stop in Kuching, Malaysia was really just about preparing to go to see the orangutans on the Indonesian side of Borneo in the Tanjung Puting National Park of Central Kalimantan. We already acquired our Indonesian visas in Kota Kinabalu because we read that it was difficult to obtain them in Kuching. We washed clothes, repacked our bags, got massages, and had great fresh seafood at the Top Spot Food Court. (Thai spiced red snapper and grilled prawns in butter and garlic)
Three-star hotel with five-star service”
I was deliberating between the Grand Margherita Hotel and Pullman Kuching Hotel when the raving reviews on LimeTree Hotel on Tripadvisor caught my eye. After staying at the LimeTree for five nights, I have faith that the three-star hotel, which may seem spartan at the first impression as compared with its grander and thus more expensive counterparts, can easily outshine its rivals in service. Every staff member of the hotel seems dedicated to accommodating the guests' requests, which reflects good management practices. And Serinah, in particular, is a gem in hospitality that is hard to come by even in luxury hotels. She responds promptly to email way before the guest arrives at the hotel. There is thus little wonder that LimeTree Kuching has won the Tripadvisor 2012 Travelers' Choice Award. A most deserving winner.
WORTH every cent!”
Very comfortable 3 nights in Kuching. Breakfast was good and hearty. Staff were all smiles and very helpful. The Sarawak River, Main Bazaar Road, Astana etc. were all within walking distance. There were malls, fast food, 7-11s, a small police station behind the block. In short, very strategically located. Love the TV reception as well (camping in front of Fox Movies was what we do every night after exploring Kuching :p). Bathroom was clean. Our room was spacious and maintained daily, always a plus there. The LimeTree is easily one of the best hotels we've ever stayed at for holidays.
Great hotel with friendly staff”
We were very pleased with our stay at The Limetree Hotel. The rooms were very spacious and clean. Free Wi-fi throughout the hotel. Breakfast was included and was a delicious assortment with great choices. A nice rooftop bar overlooking the Sarawak River. A great place to relax with a beer or cocktail. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly. Especially Teo at the front desk. He went above and beyond to help us in any way he could. Just one block from the waterfront and a short walk to all the restaurants and shopping Kuching has to offer.
Everything I was looking for in a hotel!”
Limetree Hotel is one of the best places I've ever stayed in anywhere in the world, in terms of location, service and value for money. The room was private, clean and literally smelled fresh like limes! The service was phenomenal. Every single staff member was always smiling and greeting me and stood at my beck and call at all times. They offer a whole list of activities (kayaking, trekking, shopping/eating, plantation visits) and they were very accommodating in trying to sort out my very busy activity schedule for me, making all the phone calls and arrangements. Needless to say I will stay here again the next time I am in Kuching.
Our home in Kuching”
It only took a minute for the check-in and rooms are new and squeaky clean. Breakfast the next morning is also good and we love their staff for being accommodating and friendly. In-room wifi is great and they also have computers available on the lobby for guests to use. Rooms are all non-smoking but they have designated smoking areas like the mini garden on the lobby and also on the roofdeck. It was a great stay and will definitely book this hotel if given the chance to visit Kuching again. Thank you Limetree Hotel!
Wonderful hotel in every way”
from the incredibly friendly and helpful staff to the immaculately clean rooms to the perfect location and the very best breakfast, the lime tree hotel has got to be the best place to stay in kuching (sarawak), borneo. the staff is not just friendly; they will go out of their way to assist you in any way they can. located just adjacent to chinatown--and a 10 to 15-minute walk from the center of town--the lime tree is truly on top of what it is to be a great hotel. the breakfast is to die for--delicious, fresh fruits, perfectly-cooked eggs and potatoes, a full array of local-style breakfast foods, toast, lime jam...and it's an all-you-can-eat buffet line.. and, believe us, you eat...because it's all so good. the cleaning staff anticipates your needs; if the soap or toilet paper is running low, there's a new one before you need it. and the price is also perfect. don't miss the lime tree hotel in kuching.
4D3N Stay at LimeTree Hotel, Kuching”
4D3N stay @LimeTree Hotel. - (Twin bed-room) for 2 Adults Breakfast buffet (3.5/5) included Room (4/5) Good - Basic amenities provided( Bath towels/hand towels/Shampoo/ Soap/ Complimentary free drinks) - Bed linen change every 3 days for extended stay guest/or upon indication/room tidied daily) - Room and toilet are well maintained, clean and tidy, despite hotel is about 6yrs old. Some things to note. - Room air-conditioner takes a-bit of time to cool the room, at lowest 18 degrees, its is cooling. - Due to energy conservation, power to room is activated by card access and only the hotel room card, power will still be cut even though using other cards to replace(good thing actually, once get used to it, its fine). - Only noise are the cars traveling by the road at night, but it is not long and constant, so not much of a issue. Airport transfer is RM25/per way ( RM50 to & from ) Hotel transport from Hotel to Sunday Market (RM20 per way) Hotel transport from Hotel to People's Fare(Night market and food fare is RM12 per way) Location: Walkable distance to Waterfront, about 5-10mins. Many chinese food stalls around. quite strategic location. Staff is very helpful, friendly and approachable. There is a bar lounge at the rooftop on level 5.
awesomely conveinient”
it was awesome. its location is ideal. just behind us is the pandungan area (chinatown) lots to see/ lots to eat. walk 15 mins away and you are the riverside, lots more to see and to eat. hotel also provides shuttle service at reasonable rates for you to move further away from the city for other places of interest. and their staff is most helpful in guiding you to well known eating spots. enjoyed the stay there ... will go back to limetree if visiting kuching again.
Hotel at the right location”
After 20 years of travelling to Kuching, i was forced to book a room in LIMETREE Hotel due to the other hotels being full. To my pleasant surprise this unobtrusive hotel was very good. Nothing to shout about but the essentials that was needed in a hotel was top class. Good polite staff, big rooms, fantastic locations. The showers was strong and had hot water, aircon cold. The rooftop bar is a quiet place to chill out, looking out into the Sarawak river. All in all i was pleasantly impressed with this hotel. It will be my base for my visits to Kuching from now on.
Will definitely return!”
We have stayed at the Lime Tree Hotel on two occasions and will definitely be returning on our next trip to Kuching. The hotel is clean, new, and has a fresh feeling to it, probably due to the extensive use of lime green around the place! While the rooms are a little on the small size, the beds and pillows are very comfy and the room has all the lime green accessories you will need. We have found the staff to be professional and courteous, and do seem to know what they are doing. The hotel is not right in the center of the waterfront tourist scene, but next to the China Town area. It takes about 15 mins to walk to the waterfront. Hotel staff are happy to organise a taxi if you don't fancy the walk in the heat, or you can use the hotel transit bus (which is more expensive than a taxi and will be charged to your room!). The hotel is excellent value for money. The breakfast is good, although be sure to get there with enough time before it closes, as the attentive staff hover in anticipation to clear everything away on the dot of 10am! The sunset from the rooftop bar is also good - the hotel give you a voucher for free lime drink which is a nice touch.
Great value”
We stayed for 2 night in this small little hotel in the city. The hotel is located in Kuching about 40 minutes from the Kuching nternational Airport which puts it right in the city centre! We arrived early and two of the three rooms booked were ready for check-in at about 11am, the other was ready at 1pm. Staff were friendly and immediately offered us a welcome drink and the ever so important map of Kuching. We didn't rent a car but to our amazement, there were plentiful choices of local coffee shops/ shops to dine at. Even the famous "Chong Choon" cafe, famous for the local "kolo mee and sarawak laksa" was just a few block down from the hotel! Breakfast at the hotel was nothing fancy, but sufficient. The other great thing about this hotel is the proximity to the waterfront. It's only about 10 minutes walk which isn't that bad considering we had awesome weather during our trip! Our flight out of Kuching was scheduled late, but a quick relay to the hotel staff granted us a delayed checkout at 2pm instead of the usual 12pm. All-in-all we had a wonderful stay!
Lovely lime themed hotel with clean rooms”
The Lime Tree Hotel is a small but very clean hotel located quite near to the hub of Kuching City. It is within walking distance to the Waterfront, and about fifteen to twenty minutes walk to the Sarawak Museum. Near to the hotel is a great find, an old and small coffee shop with wonderfully cheap beer and tasty food! The staff makes a great effort to be helpful and the buffet breakfast is quite adequate, with lime juice being a must on the menu. At the lobby is a small area selling lime-themed souvenirs, etc which really attracted my attention. The rooms are rather small but well-organised so that every inch of space is used up well. It is indeed a pleasant hotel to stay in and I would go back there again if I had the chance. Thumbs up!!
"Lovely hotel with great customer service"”
My husband and I stayed at this Hotel after reading good reviews about it. In fairness, it didn’t disappoint. The staff at check-in are extremely helpful and pleasant and the reception area itself is very swanky and clean. Whilst the corridors could do with a lick of paint, the rooms were great with a nice size double bed and clean white sheets. The bathroom seemed very modern and was also kept very clean. There is a dispenser in the shower itself which dispenses their own lime shower gel and its one of the nicest ones I’ve used. The shower itself is very powerful and there is plenty of hot water. My husband had lost his razor and they had no problem providing a complimentary one he could use. The TV channels were great too with a nice flat screen tv for us to watch when we were tired after days out in the jungle. The breakfast choice was great with plenty of choices for westerners and Asians alike and they would have a lovely selection of home made patisseries to try as well as fruit such as apples and bananas which would be handy to take out for the day. The only criticism I would have is that some of it was only kept warm and not very hot but we still enjoyed nonetheless. Also, we needed to leave early for a couple of trips and so asked if we could have breakfast early and they kindly made us a takeaway breakfast for us to eat. I would particularly mention the very friendly barman at the rooftop bar for who nothing was too much trouble and he always had a lovely smile. Whilst this is referred to as a budget hotel in some guide books, I would say it is more like a mid-range hotel and so great value for money. Overall, I would thoroughly recommend a stay at this hotel and would certainly go back if we visited Kuching again.
A Gem of a Hotel”
All the good reviews & high ratings the Lime Tree Hotel gets is totally deserving. We had a very good 3 nite stay in a cosy and comfortable room. While the room is on the small side and lacks a mini-fridge, the quality furnishings of the room with a wall-mounted LCD TV and a delightful bathroom made up for it. Some guests might find the location a little off the main area. But for me, Kuching is a walking Town, everything is near and nothing is too far away. There is an abundance of food shops (kopitiam) within a 1-2km radius of Lime Tree. So u will definitely be spoilt for choice. Breakfast could improve a bit though as it was almost the same choices thruout our stay. The Sarawak Laksa is a must-try. The green Kaya (coconut jam) was in a v attractive green and I could not resist helping myself to it. While not the best kaya I have ever tasted (taste was too factory like, rather than home-made), u know somehow when on holiday, everything tastes better. Food tips. #1- To buy local foodstuffs/snacks. There are several just around the corner from the hotel. Turn left once u come out of the hotel and hit left again when u reach Jalan Padungan. #2 - Top Shop (seafood) is a must. It's just a 5-8mins walk. #3 - If u need yr fast food fix, Pizza Hut, KFC and McDonald's are just a short 5-10mins walk in that order. There's a Taiwan snack shop too at the Air Asia office building (opp Sarawak Plaza).

Fantastic - one of the best!”
the limetree is a fairly new hotel with non-smoking, large bright rooms. free wifi is available in all rooms. each room has coffee making facilities, and hairdryer. some rooms have river views. the king size beds are very comfortable. there is a roof top bar that has views over the region. a nice touch for new guests is the offer of free fresh lime juice at the rooftop bar. the breakfast at the limetree is superb offering a good selection of western and asian cuisine. the staff, who all speak excellent english, are friendly, helpful and efficient. the limetree also offers a shuttle service to the more popular tourist attractions at a cheaper rate than taxi.
Hotel is beautiful and Clean”
it was really great and memorable stay we had in lime tree hotel. we celebrated our friends birthday and with the help of the staff name "kandau" ...we succeed to surprise our friend. he is amazing ! truly with personal touch and dedicated with his service. the hotel is perfect location for the center of kuching. the room is very nice, only the dissapointment is the limited water to give each day.the breakfast is also fantastic as well as the bar on top. hotel is beautiful and clean. i am working in hospitality industry, big applause to all the staff but it would be great if they will practice to work with warmth and natural service like kandau. overall, is a perfect holiday for us!! regards.
