Loud music until 00:30 am ”
Very loud music from a nearby club kept me awake until 00:30 am, impossible to sleep. Next morning I wanted to tell this to hotel management, guy knows zero English. I don't recommend this place for a peaceful sleep.

I stayed here on a weekday. The very loud issan music from a nearby bar kept playing until midnight. Impossible to sleep until midnight. It is very sad because hotel itself is nice.

Very sad but a nearby club/bar blasts issan dance music. Impossible to sleep and very frustrated. Hotel can't stop them. Bring your ear plugs ! They stopped the circus at 00:30 am !

A little gem in Udon Thani”
The hotel which has 8 rooms was built in 2013 and is run by a kind Thai couple. I suspect they or at least one of them has had elaborate experience in the hotel business in the higher scale segment, since it is rare to come across a well thought through design and professionality on such a small scale. The rooms are large and has the amenities of a 5 star hotel. We slept on a wonderful king size bed with double pillows. The toilet and shower are separated and there's even a double shower head. Outdoors on the balcony and indoors there are small tables for two to work on your laptop or for a romantic continuation of the day hop on one of the two free bikes for a bottle of wine from the 7-Eleven nearby. At breakfast taken care of by the wife, coffee tea and chocolate milk are self-service. The rest is cooked on an individual basis. There's choice of American style (Toast, butter, jam, eggs of choice, sausages and cooked ham) and Udon Thani style (Rice soup, hot rolls with cooked sausage/ham and Vietnamese fried eggs with ground meat served in a small pan) after which fruits are served. If you have any special requests I'm sure they will take care of it within reason. The husband who runs the reception in the daytime, gave us valuable advice for our trips. We enjoyed our stay so much that we booked an extra night. Even though we booked the hotel with a special offer, they took care for free transport to the airport. Tip: When leaving the hotel, bring a business card. Tn the back there's a small road map. Since the Lion King is just one year old, not all taxi and tuk-tuk drivers will know the place.

More than a 3 star hotel”
I was so impressed I cancelled other stay at another Udon Thani hotel and rebooked The Lion King hotel for rest of our Udon visit. This is more than a 3 star hotel. Exceptionally clean. Staff always at hand to help. Our room had kettle with fitted hairdryer, iron and wall fitted ironing board. Shower has two fixings. Sun shower and wall fixed hose shower. Rooms have 4 bottles of free water, handy for big coffee drinkers or family's. Hotel have a limo minibus for free airport delivery. Free use of push-bikes. Staff even took us by minibus to hire a motorbike. Only possible downside is that hotel is not in the middle of City. As a couple it was perfect for us.

Quiet, Clean, No chickens,dogs or bar noise”
The QUIETEST hotel in 40 days.Booked one day and stayed 3 (so far) Less than 5 minutes of noise in 3 days. Any noise is subdued by good doors and windows.Family owned and run by good people. 100-300 meters from laundry, barber, convenience store, local + one foreign restaurant, motorcycle repair and massage on Nong Bua. 0.7KM from Pho Si and 0.8KM from HWY 22. SOI WARARACH - not Worarat as per Agoda. Folks at Agoda will not help you find anything. Locals can't help as there is no Soi Worarat. Nong Bua has a red light intersection at both ends = easy and safe in and out. Taxi and Tuk Tuk know Nong Bua but Lion King is very new. Big, Clean rooms and a super nice family. I know of no better place in Udon Thani.

Really nice hotel. I flew into Udon Thani airport and there was free pickup. The hotel is location in a quiet area about 10-15 minutes walk from the train station. There's free wifi. The room had a fridge, TV, kettle etc etc. Even a balcony. I got a good nights sleep. I went to the adjacent restaurant for breakfast. I had pork fried rice for 60 Baht. There was a mountain of it and I couldn't finish it. They gave me free water and 3 free bananas. I checked out and they asked where I was going and they offered me a free ride to UT's bus station 2 :-) Very kind since it's about 5km from the Lion King hotel. I managed to get a bus onto Loei thanks to this kind gesture. Thanks :-) I will stay here again if in UT again

Great value and fantastic hosts”
Frankly, this is a place I recommend for those who are looking for excellent price/quality value. The rooms are pretty, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is included in the price but it feels that they go the extra mile to make sure you'll want to come back each time you are in the area. It is not downtown but about one kilometre away. Easy to walk from the hotel to where the action is. If we go back to Udon Thani, we definitely will go back and I am not afraid to send my best friends there.

Very memorable with excellent breakfast and very friendly staff. The Manager was a very friendly person who arranged various trips/taxis for my travel in and around Udon Thani. Free trips up and down to airport. All in all, I would recommend this Hotel to any one who wants to come to come and stay in Udon Thani.

Great overnight stay”
What a great little hotel! Fantastic value for money, friendly service, huge, clean rooms with up to the minute, modern decor and appliances. We were only sorry we could only stay one night as we had to move on. We were a little skeptical of the high rating scores, but honestly we can now understand why. We are regular travellers around Thailand, and so we have stayed in a few hotels in Udon before, but none of the other ones (including the big ones) compare with the standard of room and friendly service we found here. It is quite close to the night market and food and bars at UD Town, but we did have a car which made it easier - but even then it was only a 3 minute car ride. We chose the Northern Thai style breakfast, and it was terrific. We will stay here every time we are in Udon from now on. A real find.

Simba, Scar and the Lion King Gang Would Love it!”
I love the Lion King. There are bicycles to ride. You can walk to the Chinese Garden Area, or explore the stores as you walk through the mall area.If you have to go to the hospital there is AEK a short walk away. Tuk tuks and cabs are around, barter and you will get a good price, at least I did. The restaurants for Thai or farang food are many and diverse and great. You can shop and get food at Tesco and bring it back and watch those movies. The rooms are perfect with small balconies, the breakfast was so very very good, the staff were helpful and sanook or fun. You won't be right in the heart of the city, but in a neighborhood and within minutes you can be where good food, shopping and people watching abound.

Loved it's in residential and small shop area. Monks going down the street for offerings on the morning. Close to a free Chinese/Thai cultural center; group classes of Thai chi and dancing outside and a lake. Outdoor food market very close. The hotel personnel are very kind and helpful. In addition, this was only 9 minutes to my prime visitation destination in udon. Thanks for everything - your great!
