"Location was great, must get out of the hotel and walk up to be able to see the small village with shops in the rice terrace."

Loving Lokha Ubud!”
I just got back from my trip to Bali and all I can talk about is how much I loved staying in Ubud, especially at the Lokha Ubud Resort! My boyfriend and I opted for the private pool villa and I am so happy we spent the extra money for this added luxury. Request a "River Villa" and you'll get to hear the sounds of the Was River in addition to the fountains in your villa and of course, sounds of nature. We were so relaxed at this resort. The hotel, pool, and restaurant areas were clean and beautifully decorated. Even as you walked the paths of the resort, you felt as if you were in a different world. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I would highly recommend getting a massage at the spa on site. The resort is located away from the city of Ubud (it's about a 10-15 min cab ride), so you do tend to eat at the resort's restaurant for most meals, but the menu provides a large variety and we were happy with it. In the surrounding area, I would recommend trekking Mt. Batur (one of the two active volcanos in Bali). It's an early morning wake-up at 2:30 am to catch the sunrise around 6, but you are back at the hotel by 11 am. It's not for the faint heart, it did take about 2 hours straight up hill on rocky terrain, but definitely worth the journey! All in all, this was my favorite part of my trip to Bali and it largely has to do with how much I loved staying at the Lokha!
Amazing!”
We stayed at the Lokha Ubud Resort for 3 nights, and it was definitely a highlight of our trip to Bali. Although it's about 10-15 minute drive out of Ubud centre, the hotel surroundings are so peaceful and quiet that it makes for a truly relaxing stay. The hotel itself is beautiful. While the architecture is distinctly Balinese, the facilities and rooms are all very modern. We booked the luxury pool villa for our stay and it was worth every penny. From the comfortable bed, to the private pool and outdoor gazebo, it certainly made it very difficult to leave! The staff were extremely accommodating. A shuttle bus service runs into Ubud centre several times per day, but they were more than willing to drive us in when we needed. Breakfast in the restaurant was excellent. We also had dinner there one night and everything was beautifully presented. My only regret during the stay was that we didn't book a spa treatment whilst we were there. Next time! Overall, a fantastic stay and I can't wait to go back.
lovely but flawed”
We booked a pool villa with a good value opening deal at a point where The Lokha had great reviews. In the last couple of months, we read some bad reviews and were worried we had made a bad choice. If you feel similarly then, first things first, the hotel is lovely. Yes, its out of town, but that's its attraction for me. The grounds are lovely and the villa was gorgeous with great views. The bed was comfy and we felt we had lots of space. I don't understand the negative comments about the staff or breakfast - all staff members we met were lovely and spoke good English and breakfast, while not amazing, certainly was not bad. There was an ok variety of food and the buffet was nicely presented. There are freshly cooked eggs available for you too. It's not The Ritz, but it's ok. However, where I do agree with other reviewers is that the food generally is simply not up to scratch. It needs vast improvement and quickly, especially given the prices charged for it. A change in chef would be my suggestion. If they get the food right, this would definitely be a 5* review from me. I should also mention that I had a stomach bug while at the hotel and the staff were really great at making me feel better and getting us to a doctor. If you can (i) get a good price on a villa, (ii) don't mind being out of town (a taxi is 80,000-100,000 IDR) and (iii) are ok with eating out (Ubud has loads of great places), then I would recommend The Lokha.
Beautiful resort ”
Came here for a few nights to explore ubud, visiting safari and local markets . Read up a lot about the Lokha, heard many great reviews but they still managed to wow me. On the ride to Lokha , there were many beautiful rice paddy and also many cafes just nearby the hotel. After arriving at the Lokha, we were greeted by the magnificent elephant statue . Even in our room there was a little towel elephant waiting for us. Receptionist were polite, professional and extremely efficient . They even took note of my birthday and gave me a surprise the next morning during breakfast. When problems arised with our room the hotel staff resolved them quickly and made it no hassle to us at all. The Lokha is a beautiful resort with pools, spa, lounge , even a wedding chapel. They even provide free activities such as village walk, towel folding, dance lessons, yoga class etc. I only wished I could have stayed longer but I am definitely coming back again ! All in all , Lokha is worth every penny !

Paradise in the hills”
The Lokha was an amazing place to stay near Ubud. The photos don’t do it justice! The staff were amazing, offering little touches like a welcome drink, free afternoon tea, shuttle into Ubud, free activities like a local walk and others like yoga on certain days. You can walk into Ubud along a ridge walk in around 30 minutes, or get the free shuttle or a taxi for 100k (could probably get cheaper) but we then used the same taxi driver for a tour to the northern coast after our stay at the Lokha. There’s also some little cafes and restaurants nearby the hotel (5 min walk) surrounded by rice fields. The views are just amazing and the surroundings are so tranquil. The view from the bath tub alone was great and the rooms kept so clean. The spa was also the best we went to in Bali, would definitely recommend!

Loved This Place So Much I Stayed 2 Extra Nights!”
The title about sums it up. I wanted a "quintessential" Ubud experience and was worried that with 70+ rooms The Lokha was "too large" of a hotel and would feel not only impersonal but too sterile. From a personal note in the room and a hand delivered basket of fresh, local fruits as a welcome, to nightly turn-down service it was anything but! The way that the rooms are designed, it is possible to feel as though you are the only guest. Privacy is paramount, without sacrificing views or a feeling of being in nature. It was so serene and beautiful. When I travel, I generally don't like to spend much time in my hotel room. The Lokha was so nice that I built in a day on my itinerary just to enjoy the room and facilities. I spent time on the patio reading while listening to the river below. I also LOVED the bathtub! It was just deep and long enough to really, really relax in. My bed was huge and comfortable. The indoor/otdoor spa rooms are gorgeous and the infinity pool is dreamy! My only suggestion for improvement would be to run more shuttles. There should be a 9am shuttle for those who want to get to central Ubud when shops and resturants open. Also there should be a drop-off/pickup shuttle between the 4pm and 9pm shuttles. If you take the 4pm shuttle you are forced to wait 5 hours for the return shuttle at 9:30. Kind of inconvenient as it's such a long time gap. Otherwise, you can take a taxi, but there's the hassle of negotiating with one of the many, many, many, many taxi touts on the street. Generally though I was getting charged about $10 US each way. Other than that, I have zero complaints! I am looking forward to bringing my little family here very soon!
Amazing View, Amazing Swimming Pool, Amazing service”
Really love how The Lokha Ubud staff treat us as a customer. They give us greetings in our bed, beautiful flowers in our bathtub and delicious honeymoon cake. The room itself was clean and spacious. Bed was comfortable and the room has everything you need. The view was amazing and you can get the view from the balcony and from the window near the bathtub. The main swimming pool is definitely our favorite. It's beautiful and photogenic for instagram. we really enjoy the swimming pool and we can also hear the sound of the river near the swimming pool. Breakfast was tasty, but we would love to see more variety of food. one of us is a moslem and he can't eat pork, so he had limited choice for breakfast. Location of the hotel is a bis isolated, but it's not really far from Ubud center using car/motorcycle. Thank u The Lokha Ubud for your service. Such a great experience and we would love to come back.
Perfect relaxing getaway”
It was a very enjoyable stay at The Lokha Ubud Resort. Initially it was a bit difficult to find as our bali driver had never been there before. But with very alert eyes, small signage enroute to the resort provided some help. Once we arrived, things went very smoothly.. Staff are very friendly, helpful and efficient. We stayed in a villa with a private pool which exceeded our expectations. The room has been well maintained. Location of the resort is one of my fav in bali. Peaceful and quiet amongst paddy fields. Free hotel shuttle to ubud centre. Perfect of a relaxing getaway. Only let down was the breakfast (though the omelette was good). There werent many options and what was on the menu had room for improvement.
Excellent”
My friend and I recently spent a few nights at the lokha ubud and it was amazing. Our first room was very stuffy due to moisture im assuming and unfortunately it was a little too uncomfortable for us to stay in but the staff had our room changed straight away. The cleanliness of the rooms were astonishing and the housekeepers paid a personal visit to our room to make sure everything was okay and we were happy for the service. We couldn't have asked for more friendly staff. The atmosphere and location of the resort was incredible. It being surrounded by so many trees and beautiful scenery. It was such an amazing experience. The distance to ubud centre was a little far away but we hired a scooter which made the experience all that much better. I would highly recommend the lokha resort!!
A rustic experience in the heart of Ubud”
Little did we know that out stay in The Lokha Ubud will have some added bonus - aside from the lush tropical jungle and unending Bali rice fields that greeted us it was the weather - very cool, mild and pleasant. Hovering around 20s it never gets hot even during the day. It is the perfect weather for this hotel’s exotic and romantic location. The staff are also very friendly and helpful - I even saw them surprising a guest on his bday. Our room is standard garden view with extra bed which is very big and romantic they even designed a card for me with my name on it and with an Elephant tower. They also offered fruit basket for us and the water is complimentary and generous serving. They have excellent array of cable channels. The toilet is huge with a well placed bathtub with a view of the jungle. Their restaurant Bukit Cinta has excellent choice of Balinese and Western foods. To top it all the infinity pool is amazing facing the forest truly one of a kind. This hotel is a work of art.

Lovely hotel with great service”
I love Ubud because it represents the old time Bali. And this hotel perfectly delivers all those Ubud charms. Location is pretty far from the central Ubud area, but the hotel has its own scheduled shuttle to go and back from central Ubud area. Facility: The swimming pool is small but beautiful, there are spa, yoga space and gym available in the hotel ground. And there's gorgeous river you can visit in the hotel ground. Service is great. All staff will be taking care all of your needs at all hour. Food is delicious , with the price around $50 - $70 per meal. The menu selection for breakfast and all day meal is not that many and probably will get bored after 3 days or so in the hotel. Sometimes you'll see lizard or frog in the hotel ground, so I'm not recommend this hotel to people with reptile phobia. Note: transportation to other area in Bali is rare, theres no taxi or uber in the area. Shuttle to the airport, official from the hotel or the non-official is quite expensive.
Great 4 night getaway”
Stayed at a Suite here in August. Pretty good overall. It is a beautiful resort in an amazing setting. Room was immaculate, clean & tidy & reasonably good size, great balcony to take in the views. Wireless in room could've been better - lost connection often. Great swimming pool area but could do with a few more sun loungers (there are only 8), although having said that there would only be room for another 4-6 anyway. Breakfast was OK, relatively good selection, eggs & omelettes to order. Replenishment of food & particularly juices/milk was a consistent issue every morning. Other than that, always dined somewhere in Ubud. Location was OK (but i knew when i booked that this wasn't close to Ubud - so can't complain!). Just far enough out of Ubud to be able to explore the local area, yet a leisurely 15 minute walk on the Campuan ridge walk to get to Ubud. And about a 15 minute 'taxi' (local driver) from Ubud to The Lokha. The Lokha is a relatively new hotel, most locals have never heard of it or know where it is. Always say Bangkiang Sidem (this is the village the Lokha is in), always worked for me. Anywhere between IDR70000-80000 to get back to the hotel.
In The Heart of Ubud”
Ubud was a very wonderful place and our stay at the Lokha Ubud was a great choice! We had 4 rooms because there were 9 adults and 2 babies. The deluxe rooms are very beautiful and the tub had a great view. I couldn’t believe that we got the rooms at a discount! My husband and I booked a Balinese Massage at the WOS river spa and it was very relaxing. The trip would not have been complete without a dip in their pool, overlooking the forest. All in all, I loved our stay at The Lokha and I hope we can come back soon!!

One of the best experience ”
We went to Bali for 6 days and planned to stay at Ubud for 3 days. We booked The Lokha and it is one of the best hotels we have stayed. The staff was very friendly, rooms were big even the bathroom was big and clean. As we checked in, we were given a welcome drink. In our rooms, we saw a welcome card with our names. It was really appreciative. The location is amidst green fields and wok river. Although it takes 10-15 mins from Ubud centre to the hotel, but if you want to enjoy the nature and serenity Lokha is best hotel to stay.
Best place to relax and enjoy holiday in bali”
We had the best day of our 10 day Bali holiday with the lokha and it's lovely freindly natural staff and got a taxi direct to the airport after a late checkout this was the best way to reflect on all the nice people and places we went to while in Bali and I strongly recommend that you also end your Bali holiday at the lokha Ubud before you sadly leave the country. Thanks lokha Ubud. A++++
Just amazing! ”
We stayed in 7 different hotel in whole Bali, nusa penida and gili t and the Lokha ubud was definitely the best! The friendly staff at arrival, the amazing room, the pool area and breakfast were just amazing. We also had dinner in the Lokha, that‘s the only thing we wouldn‘t recommend. Anything else was just perfect! A true authentic jungle feeling in this resort!
Dear Natalie, Warmest greeting from The Lokha Ubud. Thank you for sharing your experience about your stay with us. Our pleasure to know that your stay was overall enjoyable. Thank you also for pointing out the area for our improvement. We do hope to have more opportunity to serve you again in the future with better experience. Looking forward to welcome you back to the resort on your next visit. Kind regards, The Lokha Ubud Management
Beautiful location and hotel”
It was my first trip to Ubud and i'm so glad we chose the Lokha. If you are looking for a truly peaceful location away from the crowds and jams..this is it. The property and the surrounding trails were amazing. Stayed in the 2 bedroom villa and although it was clean and spacious, it could have done with a few improvements. One would be to have a TV in the hall so that the family can sit together in the evenings and catch a movie or something. The furnishing being largely wooden also resulted in a slight musty smell throughout the room. Other then these pointers..we had an enjoyable stay at this resort
blew us away. stunning!”
We were originally booked to stay only 2 nights at Lokha Ubud, As soon as we entered the driveway we were blown away. Our 2 night stay turned into a 5 nights at Lokha. Absolutely everything about the new hotel was stunning. From the personalised service, to the spotless rooms, beautiful serene, quiet location ( not to mention the yummy buffet breaky ) feels like your living amongst the trees.(25min walk through the rice fields to ubud centre, or a free shuttle ride from the hotel) I can not speak more highly of the Lokha. It met and exceeded our expectations. Didn't want to leave.
Loved the peace and luxury.”
We were enchanted with our gorgeous private villa and pool - once we got to it. However our only complaint is not so much the distance from Ubud, but the fact it is called Lokha Ubud when it is fact a long way, at least a 20 minute shuttle drive from the town! We were tired after a long day sightseeing and our driver had to ring the Resort for instructions, 2 km as the crow flies, but when you travel ages then keep seeing signs saying Lokha 3.5km, travel that distance plus some only to come upon another sigh saying the same, and again you get abit anxious! The setting however is beautiful. We didn't want to leave our wonderful oasis of peace and tranquility. The bird song in the morning was unbelievable, I actually regret not recording it. We were there at a relatively quiet time which suited us immensely as we were looking for rest and relaxation which we certainly got. Sadly the cream was removed from the top by an awful inconsiderate family who screeched and yelled and carried on like a bunch of yobbos until 2am. But that in noway was the resorts fault, just guests from hell, thankfully it was our last night so we refused to let it spoil our wonderful stay. Thank you Lokha!
Beautiful Location away from town”
The Lokha is located in a beautiful location outside of central Ubud. There are not many restaurants nearby so you have to take the hotel's free shuttle into and back from town (about every 90 minutes or so beginning around 10 am and ending around 9 pm). Plan ahead so you can spend the time between shuttles getting a massage, instead of paying for a taxi back to the hotel. Also, if you book tours from local operators they will provide free pickup/dropoff at the hotel. The best restaurant/spa nearby is Karsa Spa, which is highly rated by tourists. The breakfast at Karsa is delicious and offers some lovely scenary. You can also walk the Champuan trail into Ubud about 30 minutes, but beware of the heat and humidity in the afternoon. If you want peace and quiet away from central Ubud and don't mind coordinating your sightseeing with the hotel's free shuttle, the Lokha is a fantastic option.
