Built at the heart of a tropical garden planted with lotus, The Luang Say Residence allows you to immerse yourself in the same path that the French explorers have taken during the development of Luang Prabang. This vast establishment is completed with ancient architecture and elegant wood furniture which adds the historic grandeur to the building. Exotic, wooden furniture is lined in each room, while the lounge corner comprises of a divan and writing bureau. The ceilings are made from wooden beam and willow. The bar emits a French bistro feeling, while the restaurant offers extensive selection of cuisine. Relax in an expansive pool surrounded by gardens. The Luang Say Residence is truly your colonial dream-come-true.

Luang Prabang Old Town
It was a lovely establishment with good service and ten minutes from the town centre. The rooms were clean, big and well lit. I highly recommend this hotel to those who prefer to stay in a quiet, relaxed and private environment.
Perfect hidden gem ”
Had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The staff are very friendly and the facility is beautiful. We love the pool and the bar. They served a fresh homemade breakfast. Highly recommended for a couple or family wanting to have a relaxing holiday.
Everything was perfect! From the location to the rooms and obviously the prices that we are paying we feel that we get every cents worth! The hotel is just 5mins drive from most great restaurants and night market. The room is cleaned everyday and the breakfast is just amazing! I like the noodle soup and congee from the breakfast so much I ordered it for supper! Do come to this estate if you want to just chill in Luang prabang.
Loved everything about the hotel- the room, food, amenities and hospitality! We even used the tour packages offered by the hotel and it was really good. Staff was exceptionally nice and helped us make restaurant reservations, book tours etc. Will stay there again if i visit Luang Prabang!
Holiday in paradise”
A beautiful hotel in a paradise like scenery with excellent service.
Comfortable and blends in perfectly ”
Rooms are spectacular in their design and comfort, and so is the rest of the hotel. The garden is lush and perfectly well maintained. The hotel throws you back to colonial times, which is ideal for this destination lost in time. Breakfast is excellent, and service is better than most of what can be found in Laos. Only downside, the internet was down for the three days we were there, and the food for diner is a bit dull.
We were traveling through Laos and found the Luang Say through my employee hotel program. It was a great experience all around. The staff were professional and courteous, the accommodations were clean and luxurious, and the food was delicious. I would highly recommend this hotel to my family and friends. Thank you!
Beautiful hotel, colonial architecture, groomed gardens and lovely pool (if a little cold!!) ”
The staff are fantastic so helpful and knowledgeable, all our requests were met easily and efficiently. We will definitely recommend this hotel to friends. Our children loved taking the tuk tuk’s back from town - a 5 min ride - the location worked for us as it was a bit quieter. The hotel also offer a free shuttle to and from town and are able to collect you from locations within Luang Prabang - as said - nothing is too much trouble!
An Oasis ”
A colonial compound with very nice appointed rooms. Most friendly hotel staff from GM to receptionsts. Food in the hotel resteurant is excellent and waiters are very attentive. The only draw back is the location which is due to the road construction nearby but hotel provide transporation to a couple of tourist spots for food and sightseeings. Highly recommended to those who wish to enjoy few days of relaxation.
Opulent colonial style hotel, exceeds expectations”
This hotel has the feel of a french colonial boutique style, although it is new construction. We stayed in the explorator suite in the main building above reception. The oval hole in the floor/ceiling is am excellent feature and shows the extent of detail into design of this hotel. The suite room was huge, over 800 sq ft with baclonys, and the beds are very soft and comfortable. Everything was amazing at this place, the outdoor swimming pool is clean and well kept, the breakfast a la carte was exceptional, the rooms are clean and breezy with a powerful AC. It is about 2 kilometers from town but they provide bicycles, good for your heart.
Charming as French Quarter.”
This hotel is our number one on the list of best experiences that we had. The staffs are the most wonderful, the room are charming, bed are super comfortable, beautiful view of the mountain from a large patio, the breakfast was great and was served with fruits, and extra items. Dinner was delicious (best Steak ever!) and best Creme Brûlée! Requested for pick up from the airport and was met by two staffs with our name on the sign. During the trip to the hotel, we were giving cold towel and cold drinks (for the heat). The swimming pool is breathtaking. The extra bed that we requested was already place in the room and was super comfortable as well. This place is truly a 5 stars hotel and more! We will definitely return again.
Absolutely wonderful guesthouse”
I can't speak highly enough of the staff and the comfort of the Exploratory suite above the dining room. We stayed for 5 nights and it proved a wonderful retreat from the August humidity and busy streets. The pool is a delightful area and the dining room offers a fine variety. I recommend the fresh spring rolls, though. Staff are genuinely smiley and gracious, as is the wonderful Lao way. It's not in the best Luang Prabang area, but having already stayed in the old town, we welcomed the garden and pool space. Transfers into the old area are offered at any time and the tuk tuks from town are very inexpensive. It's also quite possible to walk from the guesthouse to the Museum and old town, as I did on several occasions. This would be my hotel of choice should I find myself back in lovely Luang Prabang.
Old World Luxury”
Our family was cared for from arrival to departure. The staff is attentive to every detail and did whatever they could to ensure our comfort and luxury. The huge rooms gave our family a lot of room to do our "thing" without getting into each other's way. The pool was large and beautiful and set in a lovely natural garden. The amenities were perfect and we never felt that we needed something that we could not get. The easy transport into town made the somewhat removed location easy to manage. We used the hotel bicycles, the great Tuk-tuk, or the hotel van to get in and out of town. They also kept our things while we went on a 3-day trek and everything was in place upon our return. We would love to return here.
Nice 5 star hotel, attentive staff, some gripes”
Website does not mention bathroom. At this price, we assumed there would be a bath, but there was only a rather imperfect shower. $8 for a bottle of sparkling water is a rip-off, as was $8 per person for a short ride to the airport. The staff and cleanliness were excellent.
First impression was good! room was fabulous! the bed was comfortable. we had an extra bed and even the extra bed was really comfortable compared to previous hotel's experiences. The hotel is set in a lush garden. breakfast was good. We had in room dining to celebrate a friend's birthday. the food was really good! although it took a while to serve but the whole hotel was generally fantastic.
Relaxed Stay in Beautiful Surroundings”
The Hotel was absolutely beautiful and although its not next to the river and the markets, the hotel is close enough to travel by tuktuk and by bike. Hotel Staff was attentive and called tuktuks on our behalf and assisted us in exploring the best parts of the city including making restaurant reservations on our behalf. Wifi is available in all areas which is a plus. Breakfast was delicious and healthy :p Hotel doesnt have a fitness centre
The best hotel I have ever stayed at”
The hotel staff made us feel at home from the moment we walked in until the day we left. Every detail of the colonial style hotel was excellent - from the descriptions at the restaurant tables about the French explorers who lived at the residence, to the way the room service prepared the room for the night so that we didn't need to think about mosquito nets, and so on. We walked and cycled a lot in Luang Prabang. The shuttle service to town and back was very convenient as well. The pool area was well kept and the pool service was very friendly. At one breakfast the waiter was so nice he even gave us a brief explanation of the people and tribes who live in Luang Prabang and Laos. The staff is really what makes the hotel into what it is.
luxury in every sense of the word”
We could not have enjoyed our stay more! The suites are simply incredible, beautiful colonial feel, large soft beds, great view from private balcony, huge bathroom, nightly turndown service with lovely little local gifts left bedside. The staff were very attentive, ensuring all our needs were met, the breakfast was plentiful, all restaurant food delicious and perfect wine to match. We felt very well looked after and can not wait to return.
We loved this hotel from the minute we arrived. The staff are so friendly and the hotel and grounds are beautiful. We had a pioneer suite - these are situated in blocks of 4. They have 4 poster beds and lovely sitting area and nice balcony with rattan furniture. The restaurant is housed in the main building with a wrap around balcony, we loved breakfast looking at the gardens and listening to the birds sing. This place is a little piece of heaven. There is a shuttle that takes you into town which we used each day. Would go back to this hotel in an instant if I ever get the chance! !
Practically perfect in every way!”
This hotel is fabulous! The personal greeting from the hotel manager upon arrival until your departure.....no detail is forgotten. The rooms are so lovely and the amenities are just....well....they even provided mosquito spray. The Luang Say Residence is beautiful. They arranged everything for us. We rode scooters to the lovely waterfalls, and were taken to and from the night market or anywhere we cared to go! This place is a real treat! Oh yeah! And the breakfast.....
