Fantastic Stay”
We loved staying at The Magnaura Palace Hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Istanbul. The deluxe double room was very spacious and beautifully furnished, and the staff were always cheerful and willing to help. The breakfast was a highlight, featuring various Turkish dishes and accompanied by a magnificent view of the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia and Golden Horn. Location was unbeatable with many attractions and restaurants within minutes.

Cons: 1. For some reason both my husband and I remembered to be told the breakfast started at 7:30am. One morning we got to the breakfast less than 5 minutes to 8am, all food were already ready . An older man came over, pointing at the wall with loud voice. Then we saw the time 8:00. it did not bother me much. Well, what was happening right after… 2. I got a plate, filled with broccoli and carrots. That was all I wanted to eat that morning besides boiled eggs. A woman came, yelling at me, she does not speak English, pointing at the plates of these 2 vegetables. This hotel’s breakfast has many varieties but served on small plates. I took one third of broccoli and one third of carrots. She got very mad. I went downstairs with my plate, telling the night shift front desk what just happened. He was very nice, apologized for that employee’s behavior and said it is buffet breakfast, I can take what I want to eat and any amount, staff will put more food out whenever the service dishes are empty. I was impressed by his nice manner. When I finished my breakfast, front desk changed to the day shift Knushi?, I told him briefly about what had happened, he also sincerely apologized for the nastiness of that female server and said he would report it to the manager. Pros: 1. Front desks are gems. They are genuinely friendly and willing to help. When my brother found out before dinner that he left his insulin in the fridge in the previous hotel we stayed and went over to that hotel. He was treated by that hotel front desk in a mean manner who refused to check either with housekeeper or the room he stayed. I went to day shift Knushi( probably wrong spelling). He voluntarily offered calling the nearby pharmacy if my brother’s insulin in the previous hotel was unable to find. I was very very thankful for his kindness. 2. Hotel is very clean. Rooms on the 4th floor are renovated with modern look. Lower floor rooms are a bit dated but ok to stay. 3. Housekeepers are very nice.

My husband and I loved our stay at the Magnaura Palace Hotel so much. I really never wanted to leave. The room was comfortable and the balcony was perfect. Each of the staff was incredibly helpful, warm and friendly. The location was really nice and always felt safe - I left alone to go on a run a few times. I highly recommend this hotel!

This hotel is literally 2 mins walk away from Blue Mosque & Hagia Sophia. The breakfast floor (terrace) have the best view in town, Bosphorus in front and Blue Mosque & Hagia Sophia in 2 sides. Small & cosy hotel with friendly stuffs. Clean and nice rooms. Added bonus if you manage to book the ones with sea view. It’s a little difficult for drivers to find the hotel and cars will not come exactly in front of the hotel but it greatly outweighs the perks of staying in this location. Highly recommended.

Great location, good value, minor issues”
I liked: the location is superb, the receptionist on the day of my check-in was great; my room on the 3rd floor and the bed, amenities such as slippers, tea, kettle; rooftop terrace; WIFI connection. I did not like: noise inside the hotel; breakfast options were very limited and the staff didn’t understand English, I tried to ask them about the food, but it was pointless, be ware if you have special diets or allergies.

About Magnaura Palace”
I had my biggest impression during my stay in this hotel. The way they treated me, not as a guest, just like a family. But if I may suggest, you can put more tasty food for the breakfast. Especially for guest from Southeast Asia, we love tasty food, not the plain one. And also you can put a toilet shower not tissue. As a Muslim visitor we need water to clean our najis otherwise we cannot pray. I will hardly recommend this hotel to everybody I know. Bravo Magnaura Palace.

The new Istanbul Airport is huge so we were glad we arranged transfers to and from the hotel.This went without a hitch.The Magnaura is ideally located right next to all the main tourist attractions in Sultanahmet.However it is tucked away in a small side street so relatively quiet.It is also handy for a few restaurants and bars in the evening which are within a couple of minutes walk.Mehmet at reception was extremely helpfull and informative.We only stayed two nights at the end of our holiday but certainly enjoyed our stay.My only gripe would be that the balconies are tiny(standing room only)but I guess that is the style of the building
