Great value for a great price. ”
Very nice hotel with a very accommodating staff. The rooms are spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The pool is very nice as well. The restaurant opens at 7 am which is rare for this area. It is nice for those of us who like to get up early and enjoy a cup of coffee. There is plenty of food options with something for everyone.

Avoid!”
***The swimming pool is in awful condition, like it is pond water. Don't be deceived by the fancy photos on Agoda!!! I was so looking forward to a relaxing swim only to be disgusted. At night you can see the gunge floating around on the surface.*** The air conditioner was so full of dust! I had to remove and rinse the air filters myself. Anyone with allergies should avoid this place like the plague! As a regular visitor to Pattaya and the surrounding area for business (Amata City, etc.), for the price, there are much better alternatives. The room has been cheaply constructed and is more like something you would pay 590 Baht for in Thailand.

Stayed 4 nights for the LPGA event”
Selected this hotel because of its proximity to the Old Siam course where we watched the pro ladies putting on a show at the Honda Classic. It is a ways from town and cost us about 400 baht for a taxi from the bus station out to Magnolias. However there are plenty of restaurants / bars nearby and a tesco lotus convenience store right next door. Staff checked us in very quickly and smoothly and we were given a fruit drink . They also informed us that all of the goodies in the fridge were free, and even included a beer. We high -fived them for that one. We were very surprised by how big the room was , and so bright and clean with a nice, big bathroom with hot water. Our room was the top floor looking out at Mabprachan Reservoir, and overlooking the pool. Pool was well maintained and a nice dip on a hot day. Breakfast was included with our room, and you had the choice of american breakfast or some thai dishes, like Pad Krapow Moo , Fried rice etc... instant coffee, tea and fruit juice. We also stayed and had dinner one evening at the restaurant attached to the hotel , where they serve breakfast and had great pasta and a very decent pizza for about 160 baht each including a soft drink. Internet provided was spotty, but ok when the hotel was not busy. They advertise a shuttle on the website, but they dont have one. However it is only a few hundred metres to the 7-eleven where you can catch a songtaew to town. Next door we ventured into the Billabong Bar next to tesco lotus, and had great food, lots of drinks and too much fun. The proprietor , whom we called Billabong Bob , was a great guy , great fun and the staff there were awesome. We will stay here again.

Great value”
room, staff, price
I read many of the reviews here and, yes, this hotel is old and things could be improved here and there (the elevator must be the slowest I encountered anywhere so far). However, the room was impeccable, staff was friendly and helpful, and the swimming pool well maintained. I especially liked the bright, spacious room and the balcony overlooking the lake. Great value for money, will stay here again.

Nice Hotel around Maprachan lake.”
Size of room, value for money, good staffing
We stayed here as we were having dinner with friends nearby. We booked a suite room which was 60 sq m and indeed was very nice. There was a fridge with a few free drinks included in the room price. Bed was comfortable, good view of the lake. Staff were very friendly, room was value for money. Shower was just over the bath tub with no splash sheet but the bathroom was big and water that got on the floor drained away quickly. We were only there one night but sleep was good, bedroom cool with the only air con working well. Good price for stay

A great stay”
Staff friendliness. Good pool. Restaurant
Much improved over the last few years, there is now an good selection of food at the restaurant, the staff are efficient and friendly and the rooms are spotless. You do need a vehicle if you are going to access Pattaya as the hotel is located on Lake Maprachan where public transport s limited.

Never stay again”
Only queit surroundings
When we arrived at the hotel and got to the reception, there were no staffs there. We had been waiting for quite a long time and finally a staff appeared, but we had never heard her apology about our wasting the time at the lobby. No concierge. No bell boys. But this was just beginning. When we got into the room(we chose the deluxe type room, it is quite a high level room type in the hotel), the towels were not prepared at the shower room, so we couldn't help asking the reception to bring some towels. Oh, one more, there were any hangers in the closet. Besides, there was no blind curtain at the shower booth, so when I took a shower, water went out the floor at the toilet. All furniture were really old and especially sofa was very dirty. Let me talk about "Swimming pool" please. My friend and I visited this hotel because we wanted to relax and swim over there. But we could swim at the pool because the water was not clean to swim. Nobody at the pool! No maintenance by the hotel! We regret our choice of this hotel. Even though it is a kind of cheap hotel, but all conditions and service were not affordable. I highly recommended other travelers must have a second thought if you consider staying at this hotel now.

A quiet Hote for a relaxing break”
Pool, lakes, countryside
This visit was my second two-week stay at The Magnolias, both times I stayed in a Pool room. The room was large, spacious and kept spotlessly clean by the daily room service. Only gripe with the daily service was that the replacement of towels was hit and miss , from two large and two small towels down to one large towel then back to two towels. Also the room is lacking of a chair, there is a bench against a wall but it is useless for any practical use. The staff were friendly, most spoke a good level on English, the laundry service is outsourced (next day service). The property is fairly isolated from the main area of Pattaya so if you do not have our own transport you need a taxi (Mr Boon and Friends) a few hundred metres from the hotel. The hotel restaurant does not seem to operate except for a basic breakfast but there is a Korean restaurant on-site. There are also some nice inexpensive eating places close by. Also a 7/11 store five minutes walk away. There is a Karaoke but I never heard this during my 14 day stay. The hotel has an excellent pool with water slide, the pool is kept very clean. There is car parking for 8-10 cars outside of the hotel with waste land opposite for extra parking. If you are planning to walk along the roadside be aware that it is a very fast road although there are plenty of walking paths on the reservoir land opposite. Although on the main road there is very little noise from the traffic and it certainly never disturbed me.

Poorly maintained hotel. ”
Pool, location, lake view.
Booked pool side room. Internet did not work. Staff moved to a room on the 3rd floor but would not refund the price difference. Tried to order room service but the room phone would not work. Asked the maid who brought a different phone and when this phone did not work said sorry can call out. Light bulbs missing from ceiling lights. Could be nice accommodations if the management did some simple maintenance on a regular basis.
