For an escape, definitely head to Malabar House!”
This place was exceptional! They made sure that I was completely comfortable and provided me with delicious treats (cookies and chocolates made at their very own bakery across the way) on a daily basis. Food is the way to one's heart and they clearly understand this! The restaurant was exquisite-Chef Shivji and his team are amazing. Each night I had a meal there and could not bring myself to go somewhere else-it was that good! It's easy walking access to everything in Fort Kochi. If you don't want to walk, there are TukTuks right out front that are eager to take you where ever you want/need to go. The art in the hotel and the rooms is beautiful. It's like being in a museum and a hotel all at once. If you are traveling to Fort Kochi, this is a must!

A very pleasant and comfortable stay”
I loved the structure and design of the hotel. It is small, compact and thus, personalised. It actually felt like living in one of the old Kerala houses rather than a hotel. The location of the hotel is the best. Most of the Fort Kochi sites are all within walking distances and some accessible with auto- rickshaw. The front office gave me a walking map which was very helpful. The rooms were all very well done, bathrooms very clean and modern. The toiletries in the bathroom were of very high quality. I really enjoyed the classical music in the evenings. However, I must add the service in the restaurant is a tab bit slow and can be improved.

Birthday treat for my partner”
Booked 2 nights at Malabar house as part of south India tour. Lovely setting with tree covered courtyards in central fort kochin. Excellent birthday dinner for my partner with plenty of fish and veggie options and a cake on the house! Comfortable rooms with excellent facilities. Thought the swimming pool was rather small for a hotel of this standard. Overall I recommend this hotel. Staff were all very helpful and provided taxi driver with good local knowledge and who spoke excellent English for your of the area.

beautiful stay”
The malabar house is an exception property with exceptional staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property is so beautiful and tastefully furnished, you could spend hours just exploring the art. The staff is very attentive without being intrusive. We also ate dinner and enjoyed the wine bar during our stay, both amazing. I not only highly recommend this hotel but think you would be missing out if you did not stay here. perfect

Great Place to Stay in Ft Kochi”
We had a room in the front of the hotel on the second floor. It was very comfortable with a very nice, modern bathroom (great shower!). In addition to the room, we loved the breakfast and dined in the excellent restaurant a couple of times for dinner. There is also a nice air conditioned wine bar on the premises. The staff was lovely and went out of there way to help us and make sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely stay here again if we ever make it back to Ft Kochi.

Great place to stay in Fort Kochi!”
Malabar House was so conveniently located to the beach and relaxing. I would definitely stay here again. It's far from the airport but worth staying in a more remote location than Ernakulam.

Would we stay again?”
Worst thing about the Malabar House - communication. Best thing - location. The Malabar House did not respond to my emails. Requests for information on booking airport pick up, houseboat and onward travel driver/guide were mostly ignored. By the time the Malabar replied (after many emails and help from Agoda) I'd made alternative arrangements. TIP: Book a prepaid taxi at the airport - it's quick, cheap and efficient, and less than a quarter of what the Malabar quoted. The hotel itself whilst definitely not 5 star (perhaps 3) is actually quite nice. Perfectly located in Fort Cochin with good sized rooms, great beds and supercool air con. A shame therefore that the balcony areas were slightly tatty and in need of a good clean. The courtyard was pretty and peaceful with attentive staff serving drinks and snacks by a lovely little pool. We had some great food here and some not so good - vegetable options all excellent, the fish and meat however a bit of a let down - prawns muddy and pork chewy. Try Dal Roti just around the corner for excellent food at bargain prices. Would we stay again? Yes, but only if the management team improve their customer service.

Great food menu Nicely designed place”
a stylish hotel well located. Absolutely fabulous food menu. Reasonable wine cellar and certainly the best in Kochi. hot water ran put too soon. mosquitos are a pest. I didnt like the fact they put in a compulsory 24th AND 25th AND 31st very expensive dinner menu. None of this is mentioned on booking. It should e a choice ont an obligation. We went elsewhere...

Malabar House is beautiful but not worth the price”
We had a lovely time and the staff at reception are attentive and very well trained. However it is a pricey place to stay in for the fact that there is low attention to detail in term of restaurant staff and quality of the chef - the staff cannot remember food orders properly, breakfast items were routinely wrong, several menu items were missing at room service and the food is very, very mediocre. Malabar House looks great, but is lacking the attention to detail which would justify the price tag. This is a boutique three star, and much as we wanted to rate it higher, it was tad disappointing in the end. It's an easy fix though, but the owner seems busy doing too many new ventures to give this place the attention it needs.

Beautiful hotel, wonderful staff. Hope to be back!”
I cannot recommend this place enough: a beautiful boutique hotel in a colonial setting with a contemporary feel. My room was palatial. Lovely traditional music played by a live band in the courtyard. Good food and the staff was wonderful; I mentioned it was my birthday and they decorated my room with balloons, a banner and a message spelled out in flower petals on the bed! They truly went the extra mile.

Beautiful hotel in Fort Kochin”
We didn't actually en up staying at Malayan House as there was something wrong with our bathroom when we arrived so we stayed at it's sister property Trinity. We spent a lot of time at the lovelyMalabar house and swam in the pool and had lovely meals which I would highly recommend.

Lovely small boutique hotel”
Great location on parade ground. Gorgeous rooms, had a garden room with Private patio , rm 15 , great staff, restaurant serves good food, romantic courtyard , small pool , not private enough for a dip as it's in the courtyard restaurant area during restaurant opening times. Would def stay again.
