A beautiful hotel in the heart of the city!”
Pros: - beautiful architecture and interior decor - really close to the waterfront - very affordable Cons: - no tv in the room (I don’t mind as I don’t really watch tv lol) - simple breakfast i.e toast, cereals, coffee tea juices (also I didn’t mind as I only get coffee in the morn

Great location, near a lot of places to eat, drink, buy, see. Hotel is very interesting, clean. Room is good, but not enough places to put clothes and staff. Bathroom big and clean. Breakfast is complementary, so it looks like musli, banana, not good coffee, bread and jam. So better to go somewhere to it. I really recommend this place to stay!

    Stunning hotel”
Amazing beautiful heritage building. We got room with balcony and it was clean, modern & beautiful view of the town. we got a great sunset & water fountain light show from the balcony. Pool was nice. It's right in the centre of waterfront. Walking distance to restaurants, bars & malls. Granary is great eater and bar as well. Great spot to have couple of bite & drinks before & after back to the room. Cons was the breakfast & the blanket. The breakfast is very basic. Just bread, cereal, tea & coffee only. As for the blanket, its the thin sheet type which not helpful when the room is cold at night.

    Amazing Stay”
Thank you for an amazing stay at an amazing heritage building. So much history. Room was clean and modern. Pool was nice. Breakfast however was a bit boring, so basic - why though? Dont you want to feed your guest? Granary is superb for dinner but breakfast, what is that? some green salads, more fruits instead of bananas every morning, some cheese and pastries would be nice.

Gorgeously renovated unique hotel in fantastic location. Great staff, very helpful and friendly. ”
Enjoyed our room overlooking the pool; small but well renovated with a nice bathroom and a patio. Didn't see the rooms in the main building but the common living areas in it are great. Lovely pool. The breakfast included was very basic, but there are plenty of other options within walking distance. Great location one block from the waterfront in Old Chinatown. Highly recommend!

Fantastic accomodation with beautiful setup. ”
If you looking for something different Pros U can try this hotel as it has its own identity, Peace and calming interiors Ask for higher rooms and facing the shoplots n Darul Hana Bridge. U might have a nice beautiful view. If you are lucky. Sunset view is marvelous. Cons U might need to wear earplugs if u a light sleeper.. As its made by wooden floor n structure, it might not be a easy for u to sleep without earplugs. Besides. No TV for a standard room.

    Stunning hotel”
Probably one of the nicest boutique hotels that I have stayed in, the place is gorgeous. staff are really friendly and helpful. Very big sense of history when in this hotel given its past. Pool is nice and clean, and can get food and drink from the restaurant downstairs. Rooms are spotless and very recently renovated. We got lucky and had a balcony which gave us grest views. We are coming back.

Gorgeous building in an excellent location”
Positives: Beautiful building, gorgeous surroundings and an excellent location. Great swimming pool. Clean rooms. Great value for money. Restaurant, while expensive for the area, serves good food and drinks. Negatives: There was a gap between the wall and ceiling in the bathroom, so quite a few mosquitos got it. Breakfast is basic - toast, cereal and fruit.

Good historic place to stay at Kuching”
Place was tasteful decorated with nostalgic memorabilia from its past. Love that there were a lot of reading nooks with books. Only thing about the location is the fact that you have to climb up stairs to get to the rooms since it’s on a hill (however, if you have a car, you car drive up the hill, so still suitable for old folks.) Get the rooms with a balcony if possible, the one I got had a nice view of the waterfront.

    most unique hotel in Kuching”
this is probably the latest and most unique hotel in Kuching. Chances are, you would have to pay more to stay here than at nearby Hilton. But, I think for a couple seeking something more relaxing and different, this is the hotel to be. pool needs some extra cleaning from time to time but the unique design of the hotel and prime positioning beside chinatown renders it an obvious choice for me.

    Clean, friendly and convenient.”
A lovely hotel, spotlessly clean rooms arranged in a renovated historic building. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, going out of their way to ensure that our stay was enjoyable. The hotel featured a restaurant, a shop and a lovely outdoor swimming pool. There were rather a lot of steps from reception up to the rooms but these were no trouble to a fit and able person. I would love to stay here again and would certainly recommend it to others.

Marian is a lovely place to stay, loved the ambiance - peacefully nostalgic. However, i feel they are understaffed, hence, housekeeping was a challenge for existing staff. I would also do something about the drainage system that seems to be very slow (in shower) and toilet flush needed repairing too.

The tranquil setting of the pool in the exquisitely beautiful garden made it a very special place to relax. The attached restaurant served excellent freshly cooked meals. The breakfast served above the restaurant was very basic but adequate for the inclusive room price.

Great place, just avoid the breakfast”
Amazing building with lots of space to relax in - seated areas, sofa areas, pool area, etc. We took one of the pool-side rooms which was smallish with a very comfortable bed, AC, very clean, nice bathroom with a good shower. Staff were friendly and helpful. The only thing that lets this place down is the breakfast. I have a feeling the breakfast here is only offered so they can list 'breakfast included' on the various booking sites. It includes cheap, bad quality factory bread, crappy baked items like mini donuts and chocolate muffins, sugary kids cereal, orange squash (the kind that probably has 0% real fruit). Scrambled eggs and bananas were the only 'real' food offered, other than that it's more like a snack table at a children's party and really not in line with the price or style of the hotel. Overall a great place, just eat breakfast elsewhere.

    Breakfast dilema”
Having a fridge and TV would be great. The breakfast spread could be a bit more adventurous. I dont mind scrambled eggs but if you could add baked beans and sausages or beef bacon then that would be better. If you stay for more then one night like we did, having the same breakfast menu every morning is a bit boring. But other then that...we had a wonderful stay at Marian Lodge. Thank you.

Everything was exceptionally great! Love the ambiance! Few areas of improvement though - to improve breakfast variety and quality and to ensure necessities such as iron and ironing board to be made available at every floor instead of just one at the receptionist.

My stay here was fabulous. Room was great! Love it! But going up the stairs was quite steep but not a hustle because good for exercise though. Love it how they maintain such an old building. Great ambience and atmosphere and great to take pictures around. 😉
