Comfortable and cosy”
Large, comfortable and cosy rooms. Huge bathrooms. Great for a long stay as lots of room to relax. Restaurant is fantastic with great staff and a really lovely breakfast. Close to many attractions as well as markets, mall, cafes, restaurants, bus stops all within walking distance.
I have a 1 year old baby cries at night, that's why i chose a great hotel no matter how the price is, so i could get better service and facilities could make my trip easier. As Expected, my baby start to cry at night and might because the daytime travel was exhausting, I tried everything he just refuse to stop. Then one of the hotel staff start to knock on my door, hard and constantly, sounds like I'm criminal and he is a cop. I was trying to breastfeed the baby to stop him, then I have to put down the screaming baby and put on clothes, rush to the door. Then the staff start to ask a billions question, why you can't stop you baby from crying, do you need my help(how?), do you know what time is it now, bla bla. And at the last, he said please bring your baby to downstairs. Yes, he's young obviously don't understand babies. But is no excuse to embarrass a breastfeeding mom, i still can remember the look on his face like"who on earth couldn't stop a baby to cry?"
If you actually plan to sleep, then DONT book this hotel”
First of all, i would like to say that im a frequent traveller, and through the years i have never stayed in a more uncomfortable hotel than this one. To start, the lobby of the hotel seemed like im in a train station from the amount of people walking in and out and around. Leave that aside (not a major issue). The second thing is perhaps directly related to the room i was provided, i had two windows (which dont open) however, i had to put the curtain down the entire time, otherwise i’d feel like im in a showcase and people r just starring at me! The windows were overlooking (and less than 5ft away) from the staircase that leads to the rooftop terrace, and other service areas for the hotel, so there were people passing by in and out the whole time! Now comes the third and most annoying part! Noise ! Not only the outside or rooftop music noise, but the walls are paper thin, apparently there was a staff service door near my room that kept banging the whole day and didnt allow sleep
Excellent location but not without its drawbacks”
Fabulous hotel, lovely staff and wonderful room. But suffers from the same fate as every hotel around Mayfair - that at night in spring and summer the wealthy boy racers of London come to flaunt their cars and delight in revving their engines and street racing down Piccadilly until the early hours of the morning. I'd still stay here again. But next time I'd ensure to ask for a quiet room (maybe the courtyard facing) so that my sleep is not disturbed.
The May Fair Hotel is exceptional in everyway, it is our preferred Hotel when staying in London. However you do get what you pay for and unfortunately for Agoda the rooms allocated to your clients are the very back end rooms, therefore we are unlikely to use your service again.. But thank you for the opportunity to try
IT WAS A GRET STAY AT MAY FAIR THANK YOU TEAM FOR THE WARM HOSPITALITY
Theo in the Bar”
Theo in the bar is an absolute gent, made my clients and I few very welcome and comfortable for the evening
Great location with many good restaurants nearby.”
Convenient location with many good restaurants nearby, and supermarket, metro in few steps. Good breakfast. If you need a shower room, mention that in the booking, or you might get a bathtub which is slippery.
Nice staff, clean, good location and comfortable bed”
The staff were very helpful and initiative. They help you with your luggages and fetch taxis for you every time. The hotel is located very wisely and many attractions and amazing restaurants are in walking distance. One of the very few cons would be that the breakfast was really pricey but you can always eat outside as restaurants are prett close. Their bed is very comfortable too.
Love the Location”
Location is great. So close to undergraound station, close to Green Park, close to Piccadilly, close to Royal Academy of Arts, and close to Bond Street. Having Boots in the corner street and Tesco opposite is also useful. And of course it is within walking distance to Nobu as well as to Shepherds Market where I can have choices of more than decent restaurants.
marvellous & fantastice hotel”
super delighted to stay in this fantastic n marvellous hotel! delicious breakfast especially the bacon n ham! room clean n comfortable & with free wifi. staff polite & helpful.. walking distance to bond street n happy shopping! nearby got london underground easy tranportation to various places.. although price not cheap but still recommended to stay on next trip!
Typical Business Hotel ”
Location of hotel is great. However, the deal which i had gotten was without breakfast, they may consider having breakfast thrown in for all room categories. Hotel room rates is considered on the high side for an old hotel but still a great hotel to stay
luxurious hotel in the high end area of london.”
the mayfair hotel is classic hotel which is why i make it a point to stay there at least once. staff are attentive and friendly. location is excellent. except the design of the room is rather "normal".
I will not recommend this hotel as a fantastic British experience. Actually felt quite foreign. ”
Shower plug was broken as well as the blind cord. The window looked straight into an office full of staff. I presume they could see straight into my room too. Over the top opulence to the point it was uncomfortable and unwelcoming.
staying in the May Fair Hotel”
everything was good and as planned, but the suit I booked was not smoking as requested, and hotel or Agoda ignored my message about that. Hotel staff, one lady called Helen as I think was rude when discussing this issue with her, and did not show any kind of cooperation. there was an intern, called Denis, was great in everything, and worked hardly to guarantee the satisfaction as required. I wish him a great future in Hotel Business. I got to upgrade to a very big suit to have the smoking preference. Hotel staff were good and friendly I think I will go back to same hotel when visiting London.
