“Good place to stay”
Booked my staycation here based on: 1) location - accessibility to the nearby malls; and 2) price. Ideally, the property is connected to the infamous Makati walkway; making it quite the easy, comfortable walk to the Greenbelt/Landmark/Glorietta malls. HOWEVER, due to the ongoing construction of several buildings connected to the said walkway, your options are now to either walk along the (usually) busy Ayala Avenue or (almost equally) busy De La Rosa Street. I was lucky to book my three-night stay for less than P6k. And I must admit, it was pretty much a good deal. The room itself is cozy; good enough for one person. I'm quite healthy so I personally think it would be uncomfortable if I had to share the room with someone else. Froom the door, you see your whole room. The sink is separate from your shower and toilet. From the site pictures, I honestly thought that the shower and toilet setup was a joke. Sadly, it isn't as it's literally a shower area and separate toilet smack in the middle of the room. The toilet can be quite tight; so, I usually keep the sliding door open. It has a bidet though which I think is a plus. And it's clean. Again, another plus. The shower is a little more spatious so oversized me didn't have difficulty in that regard. Also, clean. Another plus. The bed barely has enough room at the side for you to squeeze in. So you either side-step your way to the blinds and the bed, or take the more acrobatic route and jump the bed from the front and access the blinds from the bed. The bed is a good firm, I think. The pillows aren't too soft which I like. Again, clean. The TV has a good number of cable channels. I barely got to explore it but I did find some good staples including CNN international. The TV is also set up so that you can angle it towards the bed. The site picture lied about the room having a table and chair. This room does not have a table nor a chair. So if you were expecting to get some work done while in your room, let me tell you that it's not possible unless you're one of those people who can work while in bed. There's an outlet beside the bed and sockets for cable charges. It would have been better if they put this up higher where the headboard/pillows are because if you have a regular short cable, then, you're essentially a wall-hugger. The sound proofing is also a lie. From my bed, I can clearly hear the conversation happening in the other room. Good thing the guest is a foreigner so I don't understand anything but at 12 MN, I really wanted to tell her to take her videocall at a more appropriate time. The toilet flushes are more muted than the talkies going on in the other side of the wall. The pool is quite nice. I got to do a solo swim until about an hour later, when I realized that I wasn't truly alone since I was surrounded by both office and residential buildings. I can bet that there were likely at least ten people watching me fail miserably with the doggie paddle. I'm a good floater, though, so I'd also bet that for a while they thought they were looking at a dead body. The building itself has a few good eateries inside. And again, if you don't mind the walk, you have so many options to choose from in the surrounding streets. Towels and a toothbrush/toothpaste kit are provided. Together with bottled water. The mini refrigerator can be used during your stay, but, it says that you have to call the desk for it to be opened. Mine was already functioning by the time I checked in. Also, there were several recent reviews about how long the checkout process was. Luckily for me, it took less than ten minutes. And yes, have some cash ready. When you check in, they do require a deposit. I think I read this on the website. So the guests shouldn't be surprised. I'm not sure why some of the guests are complaining that this isn't the norm, but, in my hotel staycation experiences, that is the norm: the property asking for a deposit.
