Idealic backpackers”
The Mouse Trap is the perfect backpackers. The linen is clean and the bathrooms are well maintained and cleaned regularly. What makes it special is the openness of the set up. There are 2 main lounges and three kitchens. There are so many nooks and crannies everywhere to read a book or have a conversation. The owners gives you a good tour at the beginning of the stay and explains all the rules.

This hostel is been a great surprise for us... the style will leave you without words... 😍 quality and price is right! Located in heart of Paihia has a such beautiful garden with a big palm .. bbq on the garden and another one close to the hostel.. bathroom cleaned. Rooms cleaned and the open spaces it was beautiful...!

Location is alright, about a 10min walk from paihia central, it’s at where most hostels are anyway. Rooms were not that soundproof, we could hear clearly what’s going on outside. The kitchen could do some improvement as well - maybe have some sugar & milk for the free coffee & tea, and new pans maybe? But overall, it was a good stay and I would recommend this if you are looking to stay in a cute & cozy little house!

fantastic hostel”
we stayed over xmas and the owners had put out a tree and put on a chrustmas eve gathering with food and music.. was super lovwly amd much appreicated. The hostel was spotless and the communal areas are lush.. big sofas, log fires and big dining tables makes it easy to chat with other travellers. great homey feel!
