Two relaxed weeks in the south of Koh Lanta. ”
The Narima is a lovely place in the south of Koh Lanta. Its far away from the turisty parts of Koh Lanta such as klong dao, long beach and klong nin. I guess this is a little bit of Thailand as it was before it was exploated. The hotel is right in front of the privat beach. The beach is not so shallow which I like since it makes you cool down when you go for a swim. The pool is beautiful and fresh. The restaurant serves very good thai food. In the evening you can choose between eating in the restaurant or down at the cosy beach pub and watch the sunset. If you like animals you can watch the hermit crabs, geccos, lizards and monkeys up in the trees. And you just have to go for a massage or two, three... The masseur is very skilled, have generous opening times and the open air bungalow is perfectly situated right by the beach. All you can hear is the sound of the ocean..

Great for Family Looking for Respite”
The Narima is about 25-30 minutes from the main town on Ko Lanta. This makes it a great option to truly get away from it all. Logistically, it is still very accessible to activities around Ko Lanta- (Ko Lanta National Park, Khlong Chak Waterfall, Klong Nin, and Khao Mai Kaew Cave). The location allows you to enjoy a private beach that is top-notch. Staff is extremely helpful booking tours and around the main restaurant. However, the beach bar (very cool atmosphere) staff is not proactive (not too big of a deal, though). The one thing that we felt needed to be clarified, and it may have just been the timing of our stay, but this is a very family-friendly hotel (obviously a pro to some, a con to others). The hotel and staff seem to go out of their way to cater to the families (again, totally fine for many). There were many toddlers (and their parents) that seemingly took over the relatively small hotel. For example, at breakfast toys spread throughout the restaurant and children running around freely. Essentially, during our stay the main restaurant and main pool area were 'Family Zones' upon which we felt was imposed. That said, there are other areas of the hotel to enjoy (the beach) that just made the 'Toddler Factor' an anecdote and point of clarification we felt necessary to share. All said, the value of the resort is too high to let anything truly impede on our recommendation of The Narima. We'll probably be back the next time we visit Ko Lanta (which hopefully won't be too far in the future).

Koh Lanta Gem”
The Narima was everything we were looking for in a place on Koh Lanta. Price for quality was very good. Natural Thai looking buildings that are eco friendly. In the south part of the island so more quiet and less party oriented. Rocky beach that has some tide pools. Amazing food and service. We were not interested in luxury but were pleasantly surprised by how clean and neat it was. We traveled the island on a scooter and compared the places, we felt the Narima was one of the best.

hotel in the green, great location, helpful staff”
this place is a true gem among the hotels in Koh Lanta- the rooms are big and high, big balcony and a strong fan- which usually is enough. breakfast is offered in a huge restaurant- the weather was unfortunately very rainy, but staff was always helpful trying to cheer me up. I stayed only one night due to changes in the travel schedule- I only had breakfast, so I can't say much about the food. But I did love their friendliness and helpfulness- on Koh Lanta in the off-season, it is very hard to get around- no songthaews, no vans driving around, so without renting a motorcycle, you are basically stuck- it was impossible at night to get back and even the big luxury resorts charge ridiculous fees for transport. The Narima sent me for free in their private car to the next hotel to pick up my family, which is an exceptional thing to do on Koh Lanta!!! They were also amazingly helpful before my arrival and went out of their way in emailing me, even though I stayed only one night.

Tranquil Thai paradise”
Everything was great a Narima. Staff took care of what we needed, wasn't overly friendly, but also not in your face which was good. We had a beach view bungalow, which was great because it offered more privacy (and the view!) so we could walk around in our undies and not worry about people looking in. However, there was a family next to us, and since the walls are thin, we had to listen to their babies cries every morning- so request a bungalow away from people with kids! The drinks were awesome, food in the restaurant was perfect, breakfast was so-so, but plenty of fresh fruit and an omelette station! We had massages by sunset on the beach, so nice, and so cheap! (Although the masseuse was a little timid) we rented a scooter for about $8usd a day which was great for zipping around the island. But be careful! We saw a guy with a broken leg from wiping out on his scooter- look out for loose gravel! The shaded pool was wonderful, and offered a nice refresher from the heat on the beach. We would definitely reccommend the Narima, it was well worth the money and gave us just what we needed! Also- go take a cooking class at Time For Lime! It was great!!!

Amazing find, will go back!”
It was such a wonderful stay at the Narima, we are overjoyed with our experience! The grounds are beautiful and well kept, lush jungle forest surrounding beautiful traditional style buildings on a gorgeous beach that was the nicest one that we saw on the island. The staff was wonderful and always ready to help. The free breakfast was amazing with Thai and western options available and someone to make you a fresh omelette. We LOVED our bungalow on the beach, it was heaven. Very well kept with comfortable (but hard as is the thai standard) beds and a hammock on the porch--you feel like you are alone in the forest overlooking the ocean. Just gorgeous!!! All of the prices were very reasonable, when we got our final bill (that included transportation to the airport and three massages) we were stunned by how little we spent. The beach is gorgeous with some rock outcroppings and a sand bar that extends really far into the water once you walk past them. This made it like a big swimming pool with a sand bottom! Families could play in the water as it was not scary at all. We went scuba diving for the first time with the company that has a sattelite location in the hotel. They gave us lessons in the pool at the hotel and then picked us up from breakfast the next day and took us to Ko Haa, an island about 45 minutes away by boat that is a national park that looks like an aquarium. It is gorgeous and so close! We loved it. We even saw a whale shark, which is apparently fairly rare! We travel a lot and we really loved this place.

Great place to stay with small kids”
The Narima is a great place to stay, especially with young children. We stayed for 10 days, and the staff, the bungalow itself (c-row), and the beach with the beach bar and restaurant are just perfect. The bungalows are clean and the hammock on the balcony is such a great place to relax.. The staff is really friendly, helpful and very service oriented. The Narima gives every guest a bottle to keep for their stay and you can refill 24h. We came in high season and I have to admit it was full of families and kids. If you are looking for a place to escape and an adult - only kind of stay, then the Narima might be not the best option for you. The whole atmosphere of this place is extraordinary and you feel home as soon as you arrive! Highly recommended! Thanks for having us! Nat, Niva and Nadja

wonderful stay in a natural setting”
We stayed at the Narima in August, during the green season, but we mostly had great wheather. The hotel is beautifully located and well-integrated into a natural setting of palm trees. We had booked a C-row bungalow but were upgraded to a B-row. We were lucky because our bungalow (B06) didn't have an A-row bungalow in front of it, so we had (remote) sea view, which was just perfect. The bungalow was very clean and we didn't have any issue with mosquitoes. The staff even gave us a mosquito net, which was not necessary in the end. The staff was very attentive, altough not overwhelmingly friendly. The attention was very good, with an excellent breakfast (including a very tasty asian breakfast) and water, cookies and fruit available all day in the restaurant. The pool is small but very nice and you can relax there while looking at the sea. We did use the beach (which is rocky) nor did we swim, but the view was beautiful. There is a very nice restaurant & bar on a cliff next door, with good food and very friendly staff. Would definitely come back to the Narima, even with kids. Actually, most guests were families.

Peaceful, relaxing, comfortable.”
Fantastic! I spent 6 blissful nights in an air-conditioned bungalow with my one year old son and my mum. We would not hesitate to return again. The rooms are rustic yet clean and comfortable with high ceilings and lots of natural light, also there are fly screens to keep the mosquitos out (but not the geckos, we shared our room with a giant one we nicknamed Gordon). The cleaners come every day to make the beds, stock up the fridge with drinks and clean the bathroom. The restaurant and bar are excellent - offering a wide range of Thai and western food (we stuck to the thai food for the most part) and cocktails - though the prices are a bit higher than those closer to Saladan. This is definitely the place to go if you want to get away from the crowds and tourist centre as it is fairly isolated - still a tuk tuk into town is only 150 baht and an enjoyable 20 minute ride. The beach and pool are wonderful - a great way to escape the heat. You can also get pampered with a massage or facial if you fancy. The staff were really friendly and great with kids (they even have high chairs!). I would definitely not hesitate to recommend The Narima.

Amazing lady runs the place, we felt very welcome!”
The Narnia was amazing! Even though we went in the low season and the hotel was half empty, the beach bar was closed and there were maintanace works in the lobby, IT DIDNT MATTER!!!!!!!! The lady who runs the place is an angel!!!! 200 stars out of 10!! She loves the Island Koh Lanta and wanted us to make it as comfortable as possible! Due to the off season, we got upgraded, breackfast and service was great! Staff was very trustfull, we never had the feeling they wanted to sell tours. We could just jump on the scooter, even though we only wanted it for an hour or so. We got charged at the end and that was a very fair deal. Only can recommend this place!! We are very happy

The soul of Thailand ”
At first I was unsure about the narima, the bungalows are nothing special and the beach is small, but I was soon won oner by the beauty and charm of the place. The food is fantastic, the staff cannot do enough to make you feel welcome and the island is beautiful. I would recommend hiring a moped and exploring Lanta as well as taking a few tours. This is not a spot for nightlife and party's but a chance to relax and soak up everything good about these magical islands.

One of the best options in Koh Lanta”
I believe one of the best options in Koh Lanta. We explore the whole island during our stay ( make a circle is around one hour and 15min by motorbike) The area is probably the best in the island. Quite, not crowded and nice places. Kantiang bay beach which I think is the best beach in the island is not far away. Being in our bungalow terrace in front of the sea during the sunset was amazing. Nice food at the restaurant. Nice Stuff. Everything easy going. All what you spend during your stay at the hotel they put it into your room account and pay at the end of your stay. That is really convenient. Hotel provide with rent motorbikes to explore the island whenever you want. Don't forget to try their coconut shakes.

Peaceful stay in well-cared for bungalows”
We spent 8 wonderful nights at The Narima. We can't say enough good about it. We had an ocean view bungalow and enjoyed the constant, peaceful sounds of the waves below. The staff aren't necessarily warm, but they are very helpful and attentive with any needs. One example is our AC went out at one point and they had it fixed within an hour of telling them about it. There is a dive shop on site, a nice pool, small, private beach, good food in the restaurant, and motorbike rental is available. They have left the grounds natural and the resort is spread out from other resorts unlike other parts of the island that cram as many bungalows in a space as possible. The bungalows are new and well cared for. They can reserve a minivan to pick you up at the airport and bring you the whole way to the resort for 300 baht per person. You may need to call and remind them a day before. We would definitely stay here again!

Family stay at The Narima”
We had a great time at The Narima. The owners were lovely and the staff were a very friendly, helpful team who were able to accommodate us well during our stay because the resort is small enough for teh staff to know and care about the personal preferences of their guests (eg. how you like your cup of tea at breakfast!). I would recommend the Narima to anyone, with or without families, who wishes to enjoy a peaceful yet luxurious stay on a Thai island.

Paradise found! ”
The Narima is a little out of the way but that is what also gives it so much character. I felt as though I had been placed in a time capsule and dropped into a Robert Louis Stevenson tropical island novel. If we wanted to go into town, motor scooters were available to rent. The staff was ever so accommodating. The breakfast was varied and hearty. The restaurant on the beach was amazing!

Perfect end to our trip”
We loved our time at The Narima, especially after the hustle of Phuket. Being further away from the port and main shopping centre meant we were able to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and really appreciate being away in paradise. Our children played many imaginative games on the beach or in the pool most of the time, often with the children of other families from all over the world. If we did want to get out and adventure, it was easy to ask the staff to make a booking or arrange transportation. We would love to visit again and would recommend it to our friends.

Perfect place to relax and eat delicious Thai food”
We had a wonderful stay at the Narima, but were glad to go during low season because could imagine it getting a bit crowded. But it was perfect for us, very relaxed on a private beach, so quiet and peaceful, exactly what we were looking for. The bungalow was very nice, with a balcony overlooking the beach, and a hammock to nap in! Decent size, a double bed and a single bed. You could hear the waves and falling asleep to that sound definitely makes you feel like you're on a holiday! Just make sure you close and lock the mosquito net when inside the room. The food was a real highlight, everything we had was truly delicious, really tasty Thai food. The pool was really nice as well, we spent a lot of time in it with our 2 year old. It overlooks the beach and is just the perfect temperature as pretty sunny so very enjoyable. The sea isn't really to swim in, the waves are pretty big, but the beach is really nice to walk on. We really enjoyed our stay there and would definitely recommend it. The downside for us was that it is not stroller / kid friendly at all! Stairs everywhere, and pretty steep around the pool area. We also felt like it wasn't taken care or well enough. Little things like pots of paint lying around, or the pool area not being cleaned of leaves, or the beach bar that was closed looking like it was abandoned, which if done differently would make a difference.

Great place to unwind”
I was travelling alone and had a great stay at the Narima. The staff were very helpful and spoke very good English. It's a little bit out of th hustle of the villages but it's simple to get around on a motorbike for less that 300 baht a day or 50 per hour. Few monkeys around so don't leave your things lying around, they'll get pinched!

Must stay !!”
Epic place. Luxury place to stay. I have even propose to my future wife there. Food is great quality. Bangalo houses are super nice and the bartender is serving great drinks. You can also rent a motorbike there and explore an island. No bad words about Narima. Wish to go back there for couple nights....Thank you
