The apartment was fabulous, clean and well equipped In a great location.. only a 10 minute walk to Jonker Street What makes this accommodation really great is the extra effort that Steven goes to to make sure you have everything you need. On check in he supplied us with maps and told us where all the best eateries were He answered all our questions and made us feel very welcome

The location was strategically wise, walking distance to jonker walk, to food restaurant, to pak putra. The house is very clean, the room is clean, the toilet is clean. Steven was very tentative in sharing knowledge of places u can go. Very recommended to cone & stay here

Property owner provided very good service and facilities were good. It was very convenience staying in the property , since they provided free parking space and it was near jonker street. Waking distance to tourist attraction (A'famosa). However it is a bit pricey and the house is small. Overall it was good!

Great quality without burning your pocket”
if you are looking to stay in a 4 or 5-star hotel with a pool, gym & all those other facilities you migh not use during your stay, then you're reading the wrong review. if you are looking for a good quality place for a quick getaway yet one that offers good value for your money, just book this place without even reading this review. though we had difficulty in finding this place in the first place (as we didn't expect it to be located in a housing estate), we were in for a good surprise. the interior of the house is extremely clean & nicely decorated. there was no sight of a single hair strand and mind you, the owner cleaned up the whole place by himself! we booked the superior room because we always prefer attached bathroom for privacy. the room is equally clean, nicely done up and no smell. the big lcd tv (40" or more) can use more tv/cable channels but hey you don't stay in a hotel room the whole day. the bathroom is also perfectly clean. liquid soap & shampoo are provided, together with a hair dryer and a scale to monitor your eating journey in malacca. there's no toothbrush & paste, but not an issue for us as we always bring ours when travelling. the house has wireless high-speed wifi which you can tap into from the comfort of your bed. the living room is also monitored by cctv 24/7 so don't make a scene with your neighbours. as we booked the superior room, we were allowed to use the car porch which was very handy. it is conveniently located near jonker st (10-15 mins walk) so there's no need to drive out & hunt for any car park. the car porch is also 24/7 monitored so it gives peace of mind. the other plus point, which sometimes you don't get from even high end hotels is that the owner - steven - is a friendly local guy with great local insights. just ask where to eat, where to shop or anything! overall we had memorable and a trip full of fun memories in melaka although it was only 2d1n, thanks to one vacation home and steven.

vacation home is ideal for us,for instance, the one vacation home is fully furnished and has a living hall, kitchen and coffee zone. so instead of camping inside hotel room, we can still relax and even enjoy some entertainment with the whole group in this area. the one vacation home is strategically located at the heart of malacca town. less than five minutes walking distance to the nearest food court. wake up late, we won’t have to worry about missing the breakfast. more amenities are also available to us compare to the hotel.we are actually have a temporary home on our vacation.

this is a very comfort,new and clean home , room and bathroom very clean also just like a another home-stay on your vacation ,and the house is full of the equipment like hair dryer . approx. less than 2 minutes driving distance from the the one vacation home to jonker street . and if walking, it will be approximately 7 minutes. hope that helps. helpful and patient also.we sure will come back for future malacca trip will introduce friends also. 8 person for the whole house is no problems . provide high speed wifi ready! u can enjoyed high speed connection inside vacation home!

Lovely room with a welcoming and friendly host”
The superior room is a lovely room (the biggest of the 3 rooms) tastefully decorated, with attached bathroom. It was very clean and comfortable during our stay. Breakfast is not included but there is a kitchen to prepare it if you want to do it yourself. Otherwise, the host, Steeven will give you a map of the city on which you can find different restaurants that he recommends you for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The One vacation Home is at only 5 minutes walk of China Town and of the center of the city. We were particularly satisfied of our stay at the one vacation home because Steeven was a very friendly, welcoming and helpful host! If you call him before and if you do not arrive at sunrise, he can pick you up at your bus station when you arrive in Melaka and he can also brought you back to the bus station for your next transfer at your departure. He even went to the bus ticket counter to buy us tickets for our next transfer to Singapore and thanks to him we got the last two tickets! :-) Thank you very much Super Steeven! Cherry on the cake, Steeven is funny! :-)

Home away from home”
i stayed at the one vacation home on the 3rd dec with my parents and sisters. we booked 2 rooms where an extra mattress was provided in one of them. we were warmly greeted by steven's hospitality upon our arrival. we were not able to find the place and gave him a call, upon turning around the area several times, we were still lost and we found that steven actually gave us two missed calls; concern about our safety. we managed to find a prominent landmark before he came to show us the route in his car. the home is on the second storey of a town house, upon entrance, you'll be greeted with modern decorations and you'll find that all the necessitites (e.g. towels, hairdryer, boiler, tv in every room, wifi etc) are all provided. cup noodles, coffee and tea are also complimentary. what surprise us was that a washing machine is also provided; so if one plans to stay for long, you can definitely do your laundry there. all was great besides the fact that the water power was a little small. my family and i came to concensus that we will definitely visit the one vacation home because of steven's warm hospitality and the place's ability to offer us the basic needs. its more than worth the price that we've paid for.

we can't be happier with the one vacation home - the place is spotless and tastefully decorated; it has a cozy living area to hang out in; it has thoughtful amenities like a washing machine and a kitchen (very helpful for travellers who are in malacca for a while); its location is close to major attractions in malacca. and steven, the hotel manager, is very helpful and informative, very cheerful and enthusiastic.

Excellent value, beautifully clean and comfortable”
It is difficult to find any fault with this guesthouse. Without doubt one of the nicest and most comfortable value-for-money guesthouses in Malacca. The manager Stephen is an unbelievably friendly, helpful and entertaining chap. As a family of three with a two year old son, we were apprehensive about staying in a small guesthouse, but Stephen looked after us wonderfully. Giving plentiful advice about restaurants worth visiting in Malacca, ferrying guests about town when they needed transport and keeping the place spotlessly clean, he makes a good guesthouse simply outstanding. The room beds are excellent and guarantee a sound sleep, the kitchen is equipped with a washing machine and free washing powder, coffee and tea, a guest fridge, and ironing facilities. In short, everything one needs to be comfortable. The living/sitting room is large and comfortably furnished so you can relax after being out in the heat and humidity. There are plenty of local restaurants of good quality nearby and convenience stores also. Five minutes walk from Chinatown and the river, it is ideally located yet on a quiet street. If you have any problems or concerns, Stephen is available anytime to help out, even though he lives off site and comes in daily to clean the premises. Highly recommended!

Best overnight stay I've ever had!”
My husband and I were meeting up friends in Melaka for a Saturday night out through the Jonker weekend night market. We drove down from Kuala Lumpur at around 4:30p.m. and arrived at 7p.m. We used a GPS, so we had no trouble finding our way, but the GPS took us through a lot of traffic lights, so what we thought would have taken 2 hours added an additional 1/2 hour for waiting at all those traffic lights. Steve, one of the two brothers who manage and own the place, was there when we arrived and made us feel very welcome. We had booked the Superior Room and it was lovely! King-size, clean and comfortable. Both my husband and I are allergic to dust, so our sinuses can tell when there's dust, even when we can't see it! Shampoo and body wash was provided. There was complimentary tea, coffee & instant noodles available, though we didn't have any since we spent most of our time wandering Melaka with friends. We left our car in the driveway and walked to Jonker Street. Quite nearby and easy to find; we did not get lost. I like the location because we're not actually in the tourist hustle & bustle but we can get there quickly & easily enough. However, it's a bit difficult for a car without GPS because the exit is not the same way you enter, and our friend who took us out for breakfast by car the next day got a little lost on the way out. When we got back to the hotel after midnight, we had difficulty getting in; one of the other hotel guests had locked a lock he/she was not supposed to. Before we could call Steven for help, he had already called us! He'd seen our difficulty on his CCTV and was on his way to help us out. He got there in just a few minutes and there was no more problem. We forgot to try the breakfast (mee curry), so I cannot say anything about it, but the room was already everything I wanted and more. One Vacation Home has made me a loyal customer with just one stay!

This hostel makes the journey fabulous ”
To be honest,Malacca is not that outstanding among all those resorts in South East Asia. However,this trip is so memorable becoz of the guest house owner who provides excellent service! Tell u what,If you miss this hostel, u just miss the greatest fun in Malacca. What makes your day is not how beautiful or how expensive the hotel is, is about the unique experience during the journey i.e.yummy street food u never heard of,a nice conversation with owner and flatmates,a newly updated map guidance from local, a reliable native who concerns your safety,a hostel not your home but cleaner than your home... Check in this hostel, find something beyond your expectation.

the place is also nicely located within walking distance to the famous jonker street, where you can find shops and lots of great food. the one vacation home is also spotlessly clean, including the toilets, living room and also the front porch! manager steven is very friendly and helpful. will definitely stay here again if back in malacca. two thumbs up!

Great place to stay in Malacca”
I was very curious about the high score TOVH gets in Agoda. And I wanted to have a different experience in Malacca by living in a local house. So I booked TOVH for our Malacca trip for two nights. It turns out that my choice is just right. TOVH is a really great place to stay not only because it is close to Jonker Street and basically every attractions in Malacca, but also the manager Steven was like a friend to the guests. He provided very useful tips and information, stayed in touch with us all the time during our stay. The room is the same as in the picture. It is very nice and clean. And Steven would do his best to make you feel comfortable. I really appreciate this experience and would highly recommend my friends to live in this place when they come to Malacca.

Home Away From Home..”
place was clean, well equipped with essentials plus more. shared "living room" and dry kitchen/laundry with complimentary beverages and light snacks/meals make it feel much like home. location is convenient, just walk to good food places, melaka city's historical attractions and shopping/entertainment. checking in/out was a breeze. steven was friendly and very helpful with tips on what/where for food, etc. rooms comparable to good hotels.., beds were much better than many we'd experienced. overall, the one vacation home was certainly a better experience than i'd expected when i did the booking. all with me felt comfortable and happy with the choice. one potential "risk".. there's space to park only one car inside.
