I had a few issues with the hotel at the time, the pool was closed for renovations which I was never told on Booking which also meant there was no yoga in the hotel. We were offered another venue to do yoga. Also the cafe was closed down half way through our stay. But the staff and rooms are amazing.
A beautifully designed hotel helped us have the relaxed stay we'd hoped for.”
The Opposite house is a fantastic hotel and somewhere we'd love to stay again. The rooms were beautifully minimal but still maintained a comforting edge. The wooden bathroom features and subtle lighting really added to the comfy yet stylish feel. Staff were great and happy to help. Facilities were good too. Only minor gripe was the lack of power outlets by the bed. Always baffles me when there isn't.
Modern Hotel Neat Design”
It was my first time staying at Opposite House though I have heard it for long time. The location of it was excellent. Super good for shopaholic and food maniac like me. The room was spacious with cool, simple design. The only 2 things that I didn't like was the tap water was not hot enough for having shower in Winter time, and the wood inside the shower room was getting old.
a very cool hotel in a good location”
I wanted to stay in a cool boutique hotel in Sanlitun and this place did the job perfectly. The studio 45 was very comfortable - I really enjoyed the wooden bath - and the Mediterranean restaurant was very nice too. 'Mesh' bar was also a good place for a Saturday night drink - a very hip mixed crowd! My only (small) complaint is that the sound-proofiing isn't great, so you can hear some late night noise from the nearby bar street.
Excellent Hotel in Great Location”
The Opposite House Hotel is centrally located in Beijings main shopping district next to Yashow Market and Bar Street. The rooms are big and the beds are very comfotable. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful, and nothing was a problem. Overall I rate this hotela s one of the best in which I have stayed and would highly recommend to anyone staying in Beijing.
Fantastic Hotel with Personal Attention to Details”
Check in was done while we were seated at sofa in lounge and drink in hand. Very efficient. Staff provided facial mask for us to indulge in rest and relaxation after a hard day of travelling. Breakfast is customised to your desire with ala carte menu as well as buffet. Food portion was generous.
Great design in the heart of Sanlitun”
I had a great stay in the Opposite House. The hotel is very different -- no front desk staff, no front desk (!), cool architecture and rooms that all face a huge interior hall (although you wouldn't know it just by walking in). The design and décor is modern, the staff is friendly and unobtrusive, and the location is great. It's an expensive hotel, by Beijing standards, but if you can afford it, a great place to stay!
Fabulous hotel in exellent location”
The Opposite House is unique in so many ways! For starters, the locations is right in the middle of SanLiTun Street, surrounded by restaurants, shops, and the bars of Beijing's night life. The rooms are beautifully designed with attention to every detail. The service is excellent, and the staff go out of their wy to accommodate any requests or concerns.
Beautifully designed hotel, very convenient”
The hotel is located in the Sanlitun area, a popular and trendy commercial area in Beijing. The lobby showcases rotating artwork from upcoming artists, and the staff was very friendly and attentive. The room was very spacious and well-designed. I love the use of wood and the detailing of the space, and felt very much at home. The basement level has restaurants that are highly recommended. The rates are a bit pricey, but it's great for people looking for a convenient hotel after a night out or travelers who appreciate design.
Crazy good and easy”
The Opposite House From the pick up to checkout was anything crazy good and easy. The team at The Opposide House managed anything very well and all personal whishes get true. The support was very very good! They arranged a crazy trip to the great wall for us with candle lights, tablecloth, glasses and champagne, picnic box and lovely guide Victoria, dining reservations shopping tips and trips in Beijing. And then their follow-thru = great! The Hotel is modern and easy! Anything is designed! The rooms are comfortable and modern and have a lot of space. *** Thank you for the upgrade! This will be our go to hotel to a trip to Beijing. Thanks for the great time!
Amazing stay at the Opposite House”
The hotel is great (services, staff, room…) and I appreciated the upgrade. Though some changes could be made for the better. The terrace should be accessible to everyone in my point of view. Finally, the facilities (gym and swimming pool) stand out from the regular ones. They are awesome.
The only flaw was the stay was for one night only. One of the best hotels I've had the priviledge to stay in. Flawlessly styled, no detail overlooked, exceptional service, great location, extremely comfortable bed, amazing shower and tub... I can go on...
A calm and restful environment with very attentive staff”
The Opposite House is a beautiful hotel with supremely calm and restful rooms, a glorious entrance lobby and good facilities. The staff were very attentive to our needs and helped us with some activities which required local knowledge. When we had a problem they stepped up and sorted it out quickly.
Amazing Hotel ”
We are visiting from Canada. I am use to high end hotels and I was blown away at how beautiful this hotel was. Everything about our experience was great. I loved the location. The food was excellent and the bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I've slept in!! We didn't want to leave!! The power window dressings were so convenient. The North American plugins were great. The huge soaker tub was very relaxing. When Jenny at the front desk heard we were recently married they sent up a bottle of champagne. I loved this hotel and will look forward to every chance I get to stay here!!
Excellent! I have stayed at the hotel a number of times and really enjoy it. I have stayed in the area a number of times with Hotel G prior to it closing for development reasons. I love this hotel and would recommend it to friends and colleagues
The opposite house was our last hotel after 2 weeks travelling in China. It is very friendly, informal, and modern hotel and we enjoyed it immensely. The location is also great: the area is safe, there is a night food street nearby and the choice of bars around the hotel is vast. Moreover, there are several underground stations located within 10 minutes walk from the hotel and the stuff is always happy to get you a taxi which makes sightseeing very easy. The staff is very attentive and not invasive (which is very difficult to achieve): our room was cleaned while we were at breakfast and our beds were prepared for the night while we were having a cigarette outside, but we had never seen the cleaning staff by our room! Overall, the stay was a great experience. The only issue that marred our stay was the dinner on our first night. Whereas the food was great (we had dinner at the new Chinese restaurant in the hotel) and the advice on food/wine and the time of delivery was impeccable, the waiters should pay more attention to the way they treat their female customers. I didn't like the fact that the my wine/water glass was refilled only if my husband's one was empty, and I was offended by the statement of the waitress that she has to check whether I have the credit rights for the room charges after I signed the bill for the dinner (the irony of the situation being that the hotel was booked on my name, but she didn't doubt my husband's right to sign the bill). However, this was a one off experience -- the waiters in the breakfast restaurant were superb. I would definitely recommend this hotel for relaxed and comfortable stay while exploring Beijing.
Nice stay but room was not ready when we arrived and we were travelling with a 4 years old and a 6 month baby. No solution to this problem, we just have to wait. Rooms always nice, pool downstairs was cold and too dark.
Unique experience ”
We very much enjoyed out stay at the Opposite Hotel. It is located in a lovely part of Beijing, surrounded by interesting buildings and boutique, up market shops and restaurants. The architecture of the building and decor are very different from your usual hotel experience yet is works superbly and enhances the holiday experience. The staff are very friendly and attentive, and the restaurants and bars cater for every need. We certianly would recommend the Opposite Hotel to anyone wishing an even more memorable experience in Beijing
The Opposite House Hotel”
Great. I wish I had more time to enjoy the hotel itself because I had to attend a meeting for whole day (not planned before my trip) in a very interesting Institute (Geology) after a trip to Changbaishan volcano.
The hotel was absolutely amazing!”
Everything was just absolutely great! The swimming pool is quite specially, and the work out place as well. The hotel rooms are great! And all the staffs are really friendly and nice, seemed like living at home and everyone treated you like family:) And there are so many free drinks at the mini bar everyday like beers, coke, and some chocolates. I will definitely choose the opposite house for my next trip in Beijing!
