Excellent !!! can't fault this place, great food, rooms and entertainment...”

I was delighted with this place, I just could not fault any part of it, the food was world class, and the traditional fire dancer show was so cool, well done to the staff for their efforts. Its such a relief when I take the time to book the right place, and it meets all my expectations, thank you so much...

Oriental Leyte Disappoints”

Pricey for what you get. No phone in our rooms to contact front desk, and my room was located on the third floor in the building where their spa is located. (A bit of a walk to the front desk to convey any needs/queries.) If they removed phones for renovating purposes, that should be told to potential guests at the very least, at check-in, to give guests the choice to be placed in rooms with a telephone. I came in tired about an hour and a half before my 2 pm check-in and wanted to check in early. It's 3400 pesos, folks! I misheard and thought 400 pesos, so they made it quite clear to me as I was ready to pay. Officially, they said their check-in policy is 3 pm, but through my third party site, it's 2 pm. They need to contact those third party sites to clarify such things so that guests know correct check-in/check-out times or any other potential issues. Amenities are at bare minimum. No ironing board or iron in the room; linens were stained, and one of my pillowcases didn't smell clean at all--like someone's head has used that particular pillow. I asked for linens to be changed. The linens were never the same color of white, and really need to be replaced with new linens. Bed blankets were not regularly washed, and I asked that mine be washed. It was never returned back to my room though. Hope they don't think I stole it. Not only dothey need newer linens and cleaner-smelling towels, but beds were not comfortable (for me, and I realize that it's subjective). A big complaint here that I want to share is that the bureau, desk, and bedside drawers all exuded a very strong smell of either old, wet, musky wood that never fully dried properly or they were treated with a possible insect repellent. That's all I can come up with to reason out the malodoriferous drawers to the point where you canot and won't place your clothes in them. AC worked great in our room, but they have an awful "corkage fee" policy which minimally charges you 500 pesos if you

Check-in took 40 minutes at 4pm in the afternoon while I was the only customer. The room was is a poor condition: mold in the bathroom, paint peeling off the wall. But some staff members were pretty kind, e.g. handing over an umbrella upon arrival by car as it was raining.

There are better values in Tacloban. There was a 3 kilo rat living in our sofa. At 11:00 at night the rodent was watched climbing the curtain, falling to the floor then making it to the top of the curtain on the second try to escape above the dropped ceiling. The front desk was called and the response was like it happened frequently. We saw the first employee after 20 minutes and were brought to a different room. No apology offered. Upon going into the new room the loud sound of rodent footsteps could be heard in the second rooms ceiling. We didn't sleep well but we were to tired to find a different hotel. The hot water in both rooms last a matter of seconds, not minutes. Upon checkout After an explanation I asked for a discount. Still with no apology I was offered to not pay the VAT. There were a few good points but none worth mentioning.

This place is crazy expensive with nothing to offer but elaborate Buddha decor. Food on the weekend was forced buffet. You can't order in food from outside as there is a 500 pesos corkage fee. Insects everywhere, staff are just there not helpful nor attending to your needs. Unhappy guest.

Worst hotel ever for its price”

One of the worst “3 star” hotels I have ever been to. Broken ceilings, holes in food mats, dirty plates, dirty pool, mold in ceiling near dining facility, I can go on and on. The staff treated us like they hated their job. This is supposed to be a resort hotel that no one wanted to be at. Breakfast food was not good at all, didn’t refill anything after 9. Asked for more coffee didn’t get it. Ate lunch there because we couldn’t check in at 145 even though they had rooms available. Food took 50 minutes to come out and was overpriced.

Good But Could Be Great”

Overall it’s a nice place to stay at. There are however some things that could be improved. Food is not available after 11pm which is very unusual these days for any hotel. Although the food is quite nice, there are limited choices depending on what time you get hungry, Overall the room we had was quite nice except that the mattress was fairly uncomfortable. These were all minor things but if rectified, this hotel woul easily be 4 to 5 stars.

Location sucks and rules”

The room and hotel is amazing for the price paid. Surrounding area is nothing and its hard to find a place to eat outside without dealing with local transportation or paying 500 pesos to get downtown. My number disappointment was hotel rules: no outside food..OK..but don't demand me to stop and open my shopping bags to inspect all of them because you don't believe me when I said no outside food. Staff looking at my swim trunks and my wife's swim suit closely to make sure its not cotton. (underwear is cotton). I really hated being treated like a prisoner when I am paying you for a good experience.
