noisy”
terrible . couldn't wait to leave. the staff and food great. The noise at night was horrific, dogs, cars, party, and an rude person in the next room. Very little sleep in 3 nights on a very hard bed. Shower water pressure is bad, the shower rose needs cleaning. Can find a lot better in Ubon.

Charming +++++”
This family run business is extremely helpful and welcoming. The Tex-Mex items on the menu have large following in this part of the country. We had the traditional thai foods which were overwhelming in quantity. Room was perfect and way too many channels to choose from on the t.v.

Exceptional”
I have stayed here before. The Outside Inn is a nice little place to stay. The hotel owner is very pleasant and gives good information. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is great with a choice of Thai and Mexican on offer. I booked two nights over Songkhran but be careful because the restaurant is closed for Songkhran. I must say I was dissapointed as I was looking forward to some tasty Mexican burritos or nacho's but will stay here again when back in Ubon

The best choice in Ubon”
I really don't know if it's possible for a small hotel/guesthouse to be better than this. The property is nicely organised and landscaped and the owners fantastically helpful. One owner (the husband) comes from the US, which means there is no language barrier for English speakers. He is also a fine bartender who takes craft cocktails seriously. His touring advice is also excellent--and I take high culture very seriously, so I'm no pushover. Ubon is a really worthy small city, and this property makes visiting it almost sinfully easy.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone”
I loved staying at this hotel. As soon as I arrived the American owner/manager introduced himself and made me feel immediately welcome. He and his wife and young daughter live at the hotel as well. The staff all speak very good English and will try their hardest to meet any reasonable request. The food at the hotel is very good and I can recommend their burgers. The hotel also takes great pride in their Mexican food (I assume the American influence here). The only problem is that the hotel is on the edge of the CBD and you need a taxi to get anywhere. In summery if you have been doing a lot travelling and need to just relax stay here.

Friendly and Comfortable Place”
I went to Outside Inn with a couple of friends for a few days at the recommendation of another friend. The Outside Inn is a great choice, Very comfortable with friendly people. In no time at all , we felt like we belonged there! The food is excellent and reasonablly priced--- there is even good Mexican food on the menu! The rooms are very big and have enverything you need. This small hotel is located in a garden setting, thus the name. There is a connection to the interior and exterior of the place. It was wonderful coming back after being out for a few hours and just sitting there meeting other guests and enjoying a delicious smoothie! If I had any "complaints" about the location, it would be that there is little in way of restaurants in the area, but you can get around easily by taxi. I HIGHLY recommend that you get the numbers for the taxi companies BEFORE you go. Taxis are hard to find, but easy to get with a phone call! I also did not like the number of dogs in the area of the hotel. We went out twice at night for a walk and were confronted both times by barking small groups of dogs! But then again, welcome to Thailand! Ubon is really full of very helpful, friendly people. My friends and I had a great time and it was largely taking away the small stories of the wonderful people in Ubon and at the hotel. There is a lot to do in Ubon. I would recommend the temple Wat Nong Bua-- a fascinating place--- evening there are lights on the pagoda. Also don't miss Pha Taem National Park with the spectacular view of the Mekong river and Laos plus the Stone Age paintings along the cliff! We went in the dry season (March), so there were no waterfalls or rapids, but was a very worthwhile trip there by rented car.

Great Find”
Great little find. A hidden gem in Ubon. The staff is always friendly and greet you with a smile. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome, comfortable, and well cared for. Restaurant with American, Thai, and Mexican food in a nice little garden courtyard setting. Tip if you are staying here and are a light sleeper, bring some earplugs. It's not noisy by any means, but the garden/courtyard occasionally may have a cricket hiding out in it that decides they want to sing their hearts out in the middle of the night. Didnt bother me much as I am such a light sleeper that I always carry earplugs with me when I travel. Otherwise, highly recommended!
