Beautiful retreat
Great hotel for yoga, detox and meditation. Great grounds and facilities and fantastic food at the restaurant. Convenient from the airport too. Would have liked someone in the detox center that spoke English to answer our questions but there was only Thai staff on this occasion.

Rural holiday
We stayed in the 4 bed luxury villa during our time in Pavana. It was beautiful, luxurious and huge. The staff were wonderful and attentive, they made the stay extra special. The only downside is that it's freaky far from the closest village and there is only one restaurant in the resort. So you are sorry if stuck having to eat the food in the resort. The restaurant good has been watered down for foreigners, it's not a big menu and its not great. Transport is limited to using their drivers or arranging your own. So getting in and out if the resort can be an expensive affair. All in all... It's a wonderful place for a peaceful retreat if you don't plan on going out or seeing much else.

Changed owners - bits improved, bits got worse
This is my second time at the resort. Previously it was The Spa Resort at Chiangmai. I generally really like this place because of its health focus - I come here for a short detox. They have an organic farm too. I also find the guy who runs the meditation and some wellness classes to be great. It was a pleasure discussing with him. Rooms are clean and bed is comfy. The bathrooms are designed to assist with colema, so it doesn't look too fancy. Restaurant food is good... but now, they have a cheesy photo menu with both the normal and healthy selections. They have the old healthy menu for "fasters" though, so ask for that instead if you don't want to be tempted. Reception and reservation staff was not up to par - I have to reiterate my requests a number of times, but restaurant and wellness staff are much more switched on. I think the pool area is well kept and generally quite peaceful. I appreciate they are trying to expand to a wider audience; however, I worry a little that some of the fellow guests might disturb the serenity of the place.

Surrounding is peaceful and quiet
I went to Pavana for detox for its peaceful environment and for a change from Phuket and Samui. I was somehow disappointed as while the hotel environment is nice, it has attracted mass tour groups and for the 5 days I stayed, except for day 1, I Hv to out up with unruly loud tourists turning the quiet environment into Disney land. Next the prices there is higher than most detox places I been, the rate per nite is as good as a 5 start hotel, the health food, juices and Colema cost twice as much. And to our dismay, when my sister ask for extra fresh cut chilli, the staff wanted to charge for it- this is the only place we been that charges for chilli. it is a shame that wihile they maintained some of the good practice fm The SPA, it has killed its reputation as a detox place. When I was there, there is only 1 customer taking the program so that should say a lot of the popularity of the place.

Mixed experience!
F&B team
Very mixed experience. Location is pretty good; out of town, but it is a vast estate and nicely built. Rooms were well maintained. Staff very polite Really enjoyed the raw food cooking class and the F&B team & chef truly went above and beyond to help rectify issues. The trek was very good as well - genuine mildly challenging hike around the region, roads and hills alike. Great guide. However, communications was terrible with the front desk/reception folks - pre-booked activities was easily done via the hotel Agoda contact, but when we had to make changes, reception completely messed up: sessions not cancelled or booked. Was given the response of 'yes yes' which was mere lip service; upsetting as we planned days around hotel activities some of which never materialised. Saw another guest encounter the same when we were checking out. Not sure if we would go back or highly recommend this.

Our stay at the Pavana
Food, staffs and accomodations
This is a great resort for people looking for a relax vacation, those looking for some nightlife action need to go else where. Foods are great, the staffs are really friendly, the rooms are nice and clean. The only problem we have found was at the Bamboo spa where we think that it was a bit overpriced. there are hidden taxes and service charges that they "failed" to advise you upfront which would drove up the total costs of the services at the spa quite a bit.

Avoid male staff at the restaurant
Good villa, fast internet, good activities
Good villa with lots of room and fast internet. Very clean however 2 out 3 toilets in the house were not functioning probably and were constantly wasting water (constant flushing). We had to take off the tops and play around with the flusher each time we used it. you don't expect doing your own plumbing! There was a big kitchen but no plate, no pot or pan or anything apart from wine glasses and cups. There was not even a corkscrew! We asked for one but they would not lend us any which I thought was strange. What shocked us was the at restaurant. We went there on the first night and never went back because the so-called manager who could not speak a word of English accused us of eating a dish he never brought to the table. After that we only ordered room service and each time (about 5x) they forgot something or made an error which seems very strange for such a nice place. The female staff at the complex were helpful and nice and speak very good English but some of the male staff we had to deal with were uneducated peasants looking for an argument.
