Beautiful apartment but I don’t recommend it ”
There is no better location in Umhlanga. The view from the patio is spectacular; the beds are comfy, apartment is comfortable and tastefully decorated. Could have been a perfect holiday. Except: I booked a luxury apartment with all appliances. Besides the fact that they don’t provide a single tea bag; grain of sugar or dishwashing tab for ones New Year’s Day here was no service as expected so I went out and bought dishwashing tabs , opened the pack, loaded the dishwasher only to find it was not connected to anything and had to unpack it and wash all the dishes. The frying pan was literally bashed and battered 100 year old. The spatula provided was one of those used on the braai to flip burgers. The tumble dryer is literally falling apart and being held together by tape. There were no beach towels on day 1 so I went to buy some - only to realize that the appliances didn’t work so I couldn’t wash and dry them after the beach. The beach towels were provided on day 2 and then removed for cleaning on day 4 with no replacement. When I complained that we had been waiting all morning for beach towels and that I would simply use the bath towels, I was told I would have to pay for new towels if those were damaged on the beach. The aircon in the bedrooms was not working from day 1. 4 days in the aircon packed up entirely ( it was a Friday night )and we were expected to stay in a furnace for the remainder of the holiday. After the 2nd night with no aircon I very sadly checked into a hotel next door to get some relief from the heat. I kept being promised the aircon would be fixed. By Monday night ( we were going home on Tuesday) it was established that there’s a design flaw in the flat so there needed to be a whole construction job in order to repair the aircon. While I understand that the repair was out of the owners control, she has outright ignored my request for a refund for the days we couldn’t stay due to no aircon. The temperature in the apartment was 31 degree

I find the management of the apartment lack basic guest services, lack of communication and understanding of how to welcome guests to there unit. The lights in the house don’t work, Aircon unit which didn’t work a tv that was totally unclear the apartment unit was dirty and dusty, makes me wonder if this is a means of making quick money.
