Run down hotel
I rented the most expensive penthouse suite and must admit that it was a great room. Beautifully decorated and expansive. Unfortunately the rest of the hotel is run down and overwhelmed with cockroaches. Food in the restaurant is low end and cocktails are the same. Pool area was the biggest disappointment. Couches were worn and torn and there was a dog there that defacated in the stairwell and was allowed to bark non stop. My room had a great view of the pool at the crown plaza and in spite of my 300.00 a day penthouse I felt very envious. The lobby could use a little tidying up as well.

Great location, but some downsides
Overall the hotel is great, nice rooms, friendly staff. Its a bit strange having the restaurant on the roof, as turning up to eat breakfast in the baking heat with a hangover is not the best. The major bug bear is having to hand over 4000 peso in cash as a deposit, not allowed to use credit cards. However you can use credit card to settle the bill, so makes no sense. I would rather have the cash in my pocket to spend on the attractions of walking street. Hence will be staying at Central Park Tower Restort adjacent, on my next visit.

The Junior Suite was nice, however, the shower leaked badly, the oven was out of service, there wasn't a microwave available and housekeeping only showed up once during my five day stay. I had to call to get clean towels. The staff on all levels were very friendly.

I was treated with the news that I had been upgraded to the Penthouse Room on my arrival. All I can say is I was lucky. Assuming the penthouse is up from The Standered room. This was one of the smelliest tired rooms I've ever been. At the same time maybe I need to also take the place it's self into consideration. It's not the nicest!

Empty Fridge and 1000 pesos deposit per night, great location but dropping in quality
There was a time when people were excited to visit this hotel as the owner and owner of lewis grand, high society and other business really pushed it as the rival to ABC but in less than a year the hotel has become more of a *** hotel with staff on the front desk friendly, door men refusing a pregnant woman use of an umbrella. PH hotel remains one of the best in AC but management seem to be loosing their grip. It would be good if a bigger chain took control and enforced standards within the hotel .. still a good hotel and brilliant location. No restaurant and an Empty FRIDGE... BUT they want a deposit for what? am i going to steal the TV?
